Solomon G. "Tootsie" Chavez, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2004. Solomon was born on January 16, 1925 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Refreshments will be served following the Rosary in the Celebration of Life Room also in Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 - time and place to be announced. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Gandert, Philip Chavez Jr., Mark A. Miller, Ted Trujillo, Charles Sena, and Charles Montoya. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Chavez, and Christopher Chavez.
