ANDERSON -- Andy Neal Anderson, age 87, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died on Sunday, May 9, 2004. He is preceded in death by his wife Otelia, in 1991. Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews, including his two nieces Melonee L. Lyon and Richard D. Clark, who were his assistants and care givers. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. BLOUNT -- Helen Blount, July 30, 1923 - May 8, 2004. Long term resident of the ghost town of Bland, NM, loved and now missed by so many. She is survived by her children, John L. Helmer, Kathy Ulrich, D.C. and Alley C. Helmer; her grandchildren, Louise Hackney, Jordan Helmer, Paul Prock III, Kresha Allen; and her great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Justin Hurst, Zeena Helmer, Jarred Allen and Danielle Prock. Helen Blunt had retired after 17 years of employment at Sears and Roebuck and became the sole continuous resident of the ghost town of Bland, where she had grown up and where she lived her last 25 years. Her friends from many walks of life will gather for a final picnic in her memory at the Exchange Hotel in the ghost town of Bland, in Bland Canyon, NM from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2004. BONACORSA -- Philip "Bono" Bonacorsa, 85, died on May 7, 2004. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Oaks Foxhunt Club in Lakeville, New York, co-owner of the Double "B" Harness Racing Stables in Yonkers, New York, a PHA Ringmaster of Equestrian Events in Long Island, New York, and owner of the Continental Motors in Great Neck, New York. He relocated to New Mexico in 1974 with AMREP to develop Rio Rancho. Later, he worked for Galles Chevrolet. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Bonacorsa; three children Paula Phagan and husband, Dale of Placitas, Donna Calles and Linda Fontaine and husband, Ed, of Albuquerque; brother Joseph Bonacorsa and wife, Mary of New Hyde Park, New York; grandchildren Lauren and David Blackmon, Karen and Steve Taylor, Sam and Marisa Vigil, Ryan Calles, Matthew Byers, Tracy and Michael Loftis, Edward and Cari Fontaine, and Carolyn and Michael Miller. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews. Philip is preceded in death by his son Philip "Tip" Bonacorsa in 2000, his sisters, Natalie Konopacki and Frances Bonacorsa-D'Angelo; and a brother, Michael Bonacorsa. EIFFERT -- Bernadine F. Bruning Eiffert, 79, a resident of Albuquerque; passed away peacefully in her sleep, Monday, May 10, 2004. Bernadine was born in St. Louis, MO on December 5, 1924. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Art Eiffert; daughter, Michele Aragon and husband, Robert of Cincinnati, OH; son, Dana Eiffert and wife, Carol of Albuquerque; son, Chris of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. HARVILLE -- James A. "Tony", " Pappy", 57 A wonderful, caring and giving man, loved by all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 8, 2004 with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Marcia Harville, daughter Valerie, son James and fiance, Jessica; and his grandson, Cody; his loving sister, Kay and her husband, Frank Scheer; his brother-in-law, Steve Nix; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Walker, Leslie Kisser and their families; his parents, Maudell and Marlon Berglund; his brother, Dale and wife, Linda Berglund; his brother, Chip and wife, Patty Berglund; their families and all those who loved him. Close family members, who shared their memories of the overwhelming love and profound effect Tony had on their lives held a private family memorial, based on his wishes, on Monday, May 10, 2004. He loved his family, his friends, his country and his dear canine companions who gave him a great deal of joy throughout his lifetime. Family members wanted all to know that his last words were "I love you, Marcia. My Dear Tony, thank you for being a BEACON in your family's life. It is without question you were the best man, husband, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle that any man could be, but for each of us you were also our Best Friend. "We rode together and we have no regrets. We thank you God for the wonderful years we were blessed by his presence in our lives. We thank you family members and friends who have shown your loving emotions and kind deeds in memory of Tony. We would also like to offer our deepest gratitude to the Tijeras Fire and Rescue Team and the Bernalillo County Sheriffs Deputies for their compassionate and dedicated efforts. INMAN -- A. Clyn Inman, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for 49 years, native New Mexican, and a resident of Oahu, Hawaii for 2 years, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Earlene Lerke Inman; children, Kay Hermanson and husband, Tom of Oahu, HI and Scott Clyn Inman and wife, Bridgette of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren, Shane Hill Ph.D of Santa Cruz, CA, Lt. Trace Hill of San Diego, CA, and Erika Inman of Albuquerque; sisters, Dolly Wicker and husband, Robert of Carlsbad and Jackie Chafin of Albuquerque; brother-in-law, James Lerke and wife, Elsie of Tucumcari, NM; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many, many friends. Clyn was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Navy aboard the USS Nevada and then was the Comptroller for the Mossman Gladden for 32 years. KRUGER -- N.J. "John" Kruger, 93, a resident of Albuquerque died at home on Sunday, May 9, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Kelly and husband, Hank of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Warren Kelly of Taos, Rachel Robinson, and husband Paul of Albuquerque, Amy Kruger Powe, and husband Bill of New Orleans, LA and Michal Sharon Kelly of Albuquerque; and three great-grandchildren, Bryce and Thomas Robinson, and William Powe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Kruger and his son, John Byron Kruger. John was born March 15, 1911, in New Mexico Territory. During his formative years, his family homesteaded throughout New Mexico and Oklahoma. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma School of Engineering in 1935, John returned to New Mexico to participate with the design of buildings at both Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories, working closely with Willard Krueger. All the while, he returned for planting and harvest on homesteads in Richland, County, Oklahoma. In 1955, John and architect Gerald Lake formed a partnership that evolved into the firm of Kruger, Lake, Pogue, Hutchinson and Brown in Albuquerque. Upon retiring, John Kruger enjoyed cultivating a large garden at his North Valley home, while keeping an office well into his 90's. Cremation has taken place and graveside services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. A memorial service will follow in Oklahoma City. LOPEZ -- Mary "Jean" Lopez, 68, was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Saturday, March 21, 1936 and passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2004. Jean had 5 sons who survived her, Richard and wife, Cindy, Don and wife, Amy, Garry and wife, Tay, Larry and wife, Lisa and Tim and wife, Cynthia; 11 surviving grandchildren, Michael, Zachary, Justin, Jordan, Jillian, Erin, Jeffrey, Christina, Paige, Desi and Michelle; two special godchildren, Thomas DeLaCruz and Doris Merzweiller; her mother, Candy Martinez; brothers, Ernie and wife, Cindy; Jose, John and wife, Renee Martinez, Gilbert Garcia and wife, Stephanie; her former husband, Jake and his wife, Pat; and special companion of many years, Ernie Adams. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lopez; her Dad, Desi Martinez; sister, Irene DeLaCruz and nephew, Pete DeLaCruz. While Jean was raising 5 sons, she was not gainfully employed but devoted much of her time to their activities such as, Thunderbird Little League, Cub Scouts, and Hodgin PTA. As they got older, they were involved in football and basketball and she enjoyed attending these games. During this time, she was involved and served in official capacities in civic organizations such as: Jr. Woman's Club, Boys Club Auxiliary, Boys Club Board of Directors. After a while, she decide to go to work for money instead of working for free, and she obtained employment with Sandia Labs from which she retired after 22 years of service in April 1999. After retirement, she claimed that her occupation was playing bridge. While married to Henry, they were very much involved in square dancing, having been officers at the local, district and state levels several times. After Henry died , she became involved in the Solo club and served as an officer several terms. Jean had a great love of life, a great sense of humor, loved music and dancing, and enjoyed life to the fullest. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. LUCERO -- Martina C. Lucero, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Moriarty, NM passed away Monday May 10, 2004, in Albuquerque, NM. She was born May 23, 1921 in Tucumcari, NM to Paul and Emeteria (Gonzalez) Chavez. She Married Maguin J. Lucero, he has preceded her in death in November 1987. She is survived by two sons, Jose A. and his wife, Mary Ann Lucero, and Michael C. and his wife, Beatrice Lucero; five daughters, Emma L. and her husband, Ruben Florez, Elvira L. and her husband, Manuel Ortega, Mary Ruth and her husband, Johnny Berridge, Connie and her husband, Jesus Castillo, and Olimpia Christenson; one grandson that she raised as her own, William Leach; one brother, Paul Chavez; three sisters, Della Marquez, Tomisita and her husband, Alfonzo Lopez, and Betty Hermosia; 45 grandchildren; 68 great- grandchildren; and 14 great-great- grandchildren. Martina C. Lucero will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. MIRELES -- Sofia V. Mireles, 86, Born March 16,1918 was a lifelong native resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico and passed away May 10, 2004 in her home. Her husband of 47 years, Guadalupe C. Mireles precedes her in death. She is survived by her son Herman Mireles and Precilla Rosales; grandchildren Gilbert Mireles, Sophia Denice, Paul A. Rosales of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Edward A. Rosales of New York, New York. Her Great grandchildren include Precilla J Marshall and Christian X. Rosales. Many nieces and nephews survive her. Mrs. Mireles was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was there for all of those in her life. She was also director of the children's choir in which all her grandchildren participated. She would help the parish by donating her time to drive school buses for the parish and substitute instructor for Catechism classes occasionally. In 1959-60 Guadalupe and Sofia Mireles were mayordomos for San Clemente. Mrs. Mireles served with Father Gene in the Alter Society for five years and promoted the sacred heart league from 1977-82. After directing the choir, in 1984 she turned over the San Clemente Choir to Salomon and Marie Marquez. She was a dedicated active member of San Clemente Parish for over thirty-eight years. She battled with breast cancer for twenty-eight years and was not able to attend mass after the passing of her husband. Lung Cancer finally took hold and her family was there to help forever. Special thanks to her favorite Nephew and wife Albert and Becky Luna for all the help they provided as well as support. A Mass will be held Friday, May 14, 2004 at San Clemente Church at 9:00 a.m. Honorable Pallbearer Albert Luna will lead Pallbearers Paul Rosales, Gilbert Mireles, Maryann Romero, Raymond Lucero, Precilla Rosales, and Tate Zeniceros.

MURRAY -- Gerri Murray, 35, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004 after a courageous ten month battle with gall bladder cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Murray. Gerri is survived by her beloved children, Sammy and Lindsey, her mother, Esther, her brother, Bobby, her twin sister, Terri, her sister, Myra, her love, David Perry. Gerri is also survived by her grandparents, Tony and Virginia Lueras, her Aunt and Uncle, Marian and Jim Buchen, her Aunt, Phyllis Adams, her Uncle and Aunt, Pat and Marge Murray, her Uncle, Danny Lueras, her cousin, Jason Buchen, her brothers-in-law, Matt Koester and Carlos Argueta, her precious nephew and niece, Matthew and Sydney Koester, and cousins, Jennifer, Danny, and Charlene. Gerri had many friends who cared and loved her so much. Gerri worked for New Mexico Home Builders Association and our family would like to thank them for all they have done through this very difficult time. She fought this cancer with everything she had and never once gave up. We already miss her so much and love her dearly. PINO -- Alice Chavez Pino born October 21, 1913 in Polvadera, NM to Pedro N. and Maria B. Chavez expired at the home of her daughter in Tome, NM. She resided in Albuquerque for several years and was a member of Holy Ghost Parish. She and her husband, Antonio, were one of the founders of Holy Ghost Parish. She is survived by her three children Mary Ann Baca and husband, Oswald, David Pino and wife, Barbara and Boleslo Pino. She had nine grandchildren: Tom Griego, Carole Rutten, John Griego, Licia Pino, Nicholas Pino and Candace Pino (deceased), Monica Pino, Michelle Pino, and Aaron Pino and five great grandsons Carl and Jacob Rutten, Anthony and Joshua Griego, and Luke Griego. She is also survived by her sister Betty Silva and husband, Mike and five sisters-in-laws who were also her best friends, Flora Padilla and husband, Johnny, Nica Chavez and husband, Polo, Pat Ciddio, Rosa Chavez, and Enedina Chavez as well as her brother-in-law Placido Rivera. A very special thank you to Helena Harringon and Pam Mares from Lovelace Hospice for their loving care. Alice was a special aunt and great-aunt to all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was known as Auntie Alice to a lot of people. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Antonio, her beautiful granddaughter, Candace, her parents Pedro and Maria Chavez, her brothers Seferino 1, Beltran, Seferino 2, Amadeo and Henry Chavez and her sister, Ida Rivera. Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday May 13, 2004 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday May 14, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Eduardo Soto, Don Daigle, Michael Silva, Philip Silva, Zack Romero and Danny Padilla will serve as casket bearers. "We'll love you forever, we'll like you for always. REYES -- Dolores Reyes, age 82, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister was called home to join her beloved husband Juvenal (Gordo) Reyes by our Heavenly Father and Savior, on Wednesday, May 12, 2004. Dolores was a life long resident of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Soledad Almaraz; and two sisters, Viola Gutierrez and Antonia Scala. Dolores is survived by her loving children, Virginia Vargas and husband Ray, Armando Reyes, and Yolanda Handrahan; her precious granddaughter, Emilia Vargas. Also surviving are her brothers, John Almaraz and wife Esther, Felix Almaraz and wife Rachel; sister and brother in laws, Faustina Reyes, Margaret and Leo Reyes, Manuel and Hortensia Reyes; her wonderful care-taker, Lorraine Garduno; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dolores will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will be Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. SANCHEZ -- Clara A. Sanchez, 96, went home to our Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2004. She was born in Magdalena, NM on Wednesday, December 11, 1907. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Eustasio Sanchez and her parents, Geronimo and Marinez Armijo. Clara is survived by her children, Nestor Sanchez and wife, Joan, of Leesburg, VA; Mary Ellen Pino and husband, Louis, of Albuquerque; Kathy Tafoya and husband, A. B., of Bosque Farms; grandchildren, John Sanchez, Patrick Sanchez, Thomas Sanchez and wife, Kim, James Sanchez, Tim Schellenbaum and wife, Eileen, Jay Schellen and wife, Barbara, Sue Schellenbaum, Jude Tafoya and Chris Tafoya; step grandchildren Louisa Jinzo and Steve Whitaker, Michael Pino and wife, Samantha, Emery Pino and wife, Laurie, Chris Pino and eighteen great grandchildren. Clara lived in Bosque Farms for 34 years and was an active member of our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM. She loved her family, friends, gardening, dancing and life in general. SLADE -- Caroline L. Slade, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died Monday, May 3, 2004. She is survived by her sister, Clair Larson and brother-in-law, Olaf of Mt. Dora, FL; nephews, William Larson and wife, Barbara of Bibbienna, Italy, and Richard Larson and wife, Debbie of Orlando, FL; and nieces, Lynn McKinnie of Orinda, CA, and Coral Bishop and husband, Richard of Madison, WI. Mrs. Slade was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred E. Slade. She was born in Schenectady, NY. She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1933. Before marriage, Mrs. Slade worked as a teacher in Wyoming. After moving to New Mexico, she worked as a volunteer in Albuquerque community activities and as a homemaker. STAVROS -- James T. Stavros, age 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died on Tuesday, May 11, 2004. James was a member of D.A.V. Post 3, and V.F.W. 401. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard in WWII, and retired from the United States Postal Office. Survivors include his daughter, Diana T. Stavros, of Edgewood; two sons, Tom J. Stavros and wife Mary Jo of Albuquerque, and Steve P. Stavros, of Florida; sister, Nora Poulos, of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Jason, Maxx, William, Joshua, and Thomas. He is preceded in death by his wife Theresa in 2000. A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 14, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, Trisagion will follow at 7:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel. WILLIAMS -- John W. "Wes" Williams, 64 of Myersville, MD, born November 2, 1939 in Houston, TX, and died May 9, 2004 at the Cardiac Care Unit, St. Joseph Hospital, Towson, MD. Wes was a senior scientst at SAIC in Germantown. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Kit; daughters Deborah L. Cunion (son-in-law Jeffrey) of Fort Worth, TX; Robin Ann Williams of Minneapolis, MN, and Holly Ann Williams of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter Laura Blythe Cunion and grandson Cameron Paul Cunion, both of Fort Worth. He leaves behind many friends and beloved pets. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main Street, Myersville. Burial will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Myersville.

WORMAN -- Florence Koch Worman passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 10, 2004 at the Rio Rancho Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Florence was born on September 22, 1903 in Hewitt, Minnesota. Her parents were the Reverend Benjamin Franklin Koch and Blanche McElrath Koch. Florence was quite accomplished at sewing and knitting. Florence and her late husband, Vernon arrived in the Albuquerque area in 1956. Florence is survived by her son, Donald and wife, Donna of Rio Rancho, son, David and wife, Marlene of Endeavor, Wisconsin; daughter, Betty of Richmond, Virginia; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon after over 60 years of marriage. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2004 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel. A family memorial service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2004.
