BAIRD -- Ronald M. Baird, 71, a resident of Albuquerque for 39 years, passed away Monday, November 10, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Baird; daughter, Christele Baird, both of Albuquerque; son, Timothy Baird; grandson, Austin R. Baird, both of Edgewood; and sister, Onalee Andrews and husband, Leon of Georgetown, TN. Mr. Baird was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was the founder of Baird Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors in 1978. He was a member of U.A. Local 412 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He was also an avid golfer and artist. Ronald was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. BRODERICK -- Philip "Pete" Broderick, 75 and a resident of New Mexico since 1990, passed away peacefully in the company of his family on November 6, 2003. He is survived by his brother and wife, Thomas and Antoinette Broderick; and nieces and nephews, Jessica and Wes Bigney, Kevin and Karrie Broderick, Kathleen Jastrzemski, Thomas and Lynn Broderick, Melinda Broderick, Michael and Kimberly Broderick, Matthew and Paula Broderick, Tina Broderick, and Erin and Steve Levick. Philip was preceded in death by his mother and father, Margaret and Philip M. Broderick. Philip was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. Despite his cerebral palsy, he was very proud to have worked his entire life at Kahn's Meat Plant. In past years with the help of his niece, Erin and her husband, Steve, Philip was able to achieve the lifelong goal of having his own home and car. He took great joy in his new puppy, Buddy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2003 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho. CAPLAN -- Murray Caplan, 92, born and raised in Indianapolis, IN and lived there until moving to Albuquerque, NM last year to be with his family, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2003. ENGEL -- Dolores G. Engel, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2003 at the age of 86 with her two daughters by her bedside. She was the beloved wife of 52 years of the late Lt. Col. Hans Engel, Ret.; loving mother of Sharon Engel and husband, Bill Weissman of Albuquerque and Pamela Engel and husband, William Morris; grandmother of Edye Cowan, Eric Atkinson and Eerin Atkinson and great-grandmother of Timothy Atkinson, Lee Ann Atkinson, Wesley Atkinson, Amber Atkinson, Shannon Cowan and Azure Atkinson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed. ESTREMERA -- Mamie F. Estremera. Born April 10, 1909 in Puerto Rico, passed away Monday, November 10, 2003 at 1:54 a.m. She is survived by her loving husband, Jaime Estremera Sr.; son, Jaime Jr. and his wife, Robin; four daughters, Hilda and husband, Bob, Betty and husband, William, Belen and Sylvia; all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. FRAME -- Eldon. "El" passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2003. He was preceeded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gwen; and his son, Scott. He is survived by his son, Terrance (wife, Kathy); and grandchildren, Melinda and Craig. El was born in Bevier, MO on November 11, 1921. He was raised in Quincy, IL and graduated from the US Naval Academy, Class of 1946. He served as a fighter pilot and as Executive Officer of USS Greenwood during his time in the Navy. He worked for Sandia National Laboratories from 1955 until his retirement in 1987. During this time he was recognized as a "Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia Labs." He was active in Boy Scouts as Scoutmaster of Troop 166 and recieved the Silver Beaver Award for his contributions. He was also a member of the Naval Academy Alumni Club and Faith Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Sain Rd. NE. Familly will meet friends after the service. GALLEGOS -- Lucille L. Gallegos, 78, went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2003. She was born on October 13, 1925 in Lemitar, New Mexico. Mrs. Gallegos was preceded in death by her son, Filemon Gallegos Jr. and her daughter Ruth Torres. Lucille is survived by her husband, Filemon Gallegos; sons, Eddie Gallegos and wife Gloria, Ernest Gallegos and wife Peggy and Vincent Gallegos; daughters, Flora Gutierrez and Robert Abruzzese, Stella Gonzales and husband Joseph and Yvonne Gilbert and husband Tony; 35 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mrs. Gallegos will be deeply missed by her loving family. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. KEFAUVER -- Judythe Diane Kefauver, 56, died Sunday, November 9, 2003, after battling cancer since April. She is survived by her husband, Lee; daughter, Susan; son, Rick and his wife, Rachel; grandchildren, Megan and Audrey; sisters, Barbara and family and Marilynne and family; brother, Bob and family; and sister-in-law, Jackie and family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Edith White; father, John White; sister, Dolores Ivester; and brother, Jack White. Judy had been a full-time mom prior to boldly attending TVI for an accounting degree. She was hired at Sandia Area Federal Credit Union where she worked for 20 years while working her way up to Operations Manager, retiring nine years ago. Judy was, and always will be known for her loving and caring nature, going above and beyond for those she loved. She was an adventurer, strong-willed in even the lasts of days, and truly loved life and all it had to give. KELLER -- Raymond Everett Keller, 92, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1967, died Monday, Nov 10, 2003 at the Albuquerque Regional Medical Center at noon. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Loretta of 59 years; son, Charles; brother, Howard; and sister, Lois Blanchard; and is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn of eight years; step-daughter, Lynne Guran; daughters, Joan Adams and Barbara Eshbaugh; son, James Keller; sister, Ruth Griffin; nine adoring grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Born in Portville, NY, he was a multitalented and loving school music teacher there and in Hartsdale, NY before moving to Rio Rancho where he worked for AAA. MORITZ -- Leon Dale Moritz, 80, suffering with Alzheimer's Disease for several years, passed from this life peacefully on November 11, 2003. The son of Walter and Florence Moritz of Stanton, Nebraska, he enlisted in the US Navy in 1942. As an Electronic Technician's Mate 1st Class, he was one of a handpicked group of personnel sent to White Sands Proving Grounds for training and preparation of the V-2 Rocket. The first of it's kind, the V-2 was launched from the large aircraft carrier, USS Midway, several hundred miles off the East Coast. In 1952, he met and married his jitterbug partner for life, Myrtle Pauline Stacks and the two moved to Albuquerque. He began employment at Sandia National Labs where he was affectionately known as "Grump" by many dear friends and peers. As a dedicated husband to Pauline and loving father to his daughter, Veda and his son, Steve, he retired from Sandia National Labs in 1985. He later became the proud grandfather of Steve's son, Kyle Moritz, the light of his life. He enjoyed working and his electronic skills kept him occupied in a shop at home repairing TV's and radios. Although each day Pops memory grew dimmer and faded away, we will always have the gift of his memory that can never be taken away. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Triva Evans of Houston, TX. He is survived by his wife, Pauline; children, Veda and Steven; grandson, Kyle; nieces and nephews, Susan and Brian Evans of Houston, TX; his brother, Mason and wife, Norma, and their sons, Jeff and Joel Moritz of Stanton, NE. PACHECO -- Mr. Juan B. Pacheco, 94, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 9, 2003. PORTER -- Randy M. Porter, the son of the late Monsley and Leslie Porter of Greensboro, born on July 20, 1955 in Greensboro, NC, died on November 7, 2003. He is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Martin and Joannie Hutton of Greensboro, NC; and brother, Roger Porter of Savannah, Georgia. Randy has a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends. He is a graduate of the Class of 74 Ben L. Smith High School of Greensboro, NC. Randy attended Jefferson Community College in the same city and briefly UNM. ROGGE -- Mathilde Pauly (Tilly) Rogge died peacefully on November 10, 2003 after a short illness. She was born on November 29, 1910 in Maring, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1927. She married Henry Rogge in 1933. He preceded her in death in 1994. After residing in Florida for many decades, she moved to New Mexico to be near family in December 2001. Mrs. Rogge is survived by her daughter, Renee Mathews; three grandsons, Craig Mathews and wife, Cindy, Eric Mathews, Mark Mathews and wife, Nadine; and two great-granddaughters, Lindsey and Krista Mathews, all residing in Albuquerque. SANCHEZ -- Ray R. Sanchez, age 47, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away on Monday, November 10, 2003, in his sleep at home. He is preceded in death by his father Refugio Ray Sanchez, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Nora A. Sanchez; three sisters, Linda Martinez, Rita Cordova and husband, Joe and Judy Sanchez-Torres; six nieces and nephews, Albert Martinez, Jr. and wife, Jessica, Elaine Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Christine Martinez, Adrian Cordova and Patrick Ray Sanchez-Torres; five great-nieces and nephews, Alysia Martinez, Nicole Pinge, Albert "Berto" Martinez, III, Angelique Martinez and Gabrielle Martinez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was a 1975 graduate of Highland High School and attended TVI and UNM. On June 1, 1989 he began working for Albuquerque Police Department Records Division as a lead clerk; from there he transferred in October 1993 to the Communication Division as a 911 operator and currently was working in the CAD's Unit at the APD Communication Division. After his father's passing in 1983, Ray assumed responsibility as the head of his family with the honor and love that he showed towards his mother and sisters. He was a wonderful godfather, mentor and example for his nephews and nieces. Ray will live in our hearts forever. Rosary will be recited Friday, November 14, 2003, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd., NE. SLAUGHTER -- Linda Slaughter, 56, passed away, Friday, November 7, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Paul of 35 years; three children, Mitchell of Hot Springs, AR, Aaron of Houston, TX and Shane, who is serving in Baghdad, Iraq, and his wife, Theresa and their three children, Alicia, Nathaniel and Reanna all of Goose Creek, SC; her mother, Eleanor Scotten of Albuquerque; and her father, Harold (Tex) Greenhaw of Modesto, CA. Linda graduated from McCurty High, McCurty, NM in 1965. She attended the University of Michigan. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. After her marriage to Paul, they relocated to Colombs, MI where they lived until 2001 when they came home to Albuquerque. SONS -- Robert Sons, age 92, of Crown Point, IN passed away Sunday, November 9, 2003. He was born November 24, 1910 to John and Mary Sons on a farm in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He is survived by daughter, Linda Sons of DeKalb, IL; son, Richard (Marjorie) Sons of Albuquerque, NM; grandson, Robert Sons; many nieces and nephews including Ellen Charles and Kathy Sons from Crown Pont; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gillespie and Loretta Manns of Thornton, IL and Yolanda Diekelman of Schaumburg, IL; many cousins, neighbors and treasured friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth of nearly 59 years; son Paul; and brother, Andrew. Mr. Sons was a faithful steward of the land for 73 years and a farmer in the Crown Point area since 1944. He and his wife maintained a DeKalb Seed Corn dealership for 35 years. He was instrumental in the formation of the Prairie Farmer Protective Association and was a member of the Farm bureau. He and his wife, Ruth helped start the Parents' Club for the Center Township schools outside Crown Point. He was a patriarch of the community - looked to for advice by many and always available to give it. He was a man of his word, a genuine friend, a good neighbor, and a loving husband and father. Friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service, 811 East Franciscan Drive (on State Road 55 south of State Road 231), Crown Point on Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Press officiating. Burial will be at Homewood Memorial Gardens, Homewood, IL. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church of Crown Point.

TOBIN -- Dorothy E. Tobin, a resident of Albuquerque since the 1950s, died November 11, 2003. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Charlotte Jensen and Terry Stinge, both of Ca, and Gerry Dean of NM; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Scott Farmer. She is preceded in death by husband, Jack Tobin, 1985. Dorothy was a member of the National Rose Society, N.M. Chapter, and the Albuquerque Garden Club. Dorothy not only exhibited, but was also a National Rose judge. Dorothy was a loving and dedicated nurse. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2003, 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of: Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE 842-8800

TOMLINSON -- Charles R. Tomlinson Jr. (Roy), 80, a resident for 30 years, died in his sleep sometime before Oct. 31, 2003. He was born Aug 12, 1923 and attended schools in Mt. Holly, NJ graduating from high school in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1948 as a Radioman with the Pacific Fleet, participating in, among many other operations, the invasion of Okinawa where his ship was hit by a "kamikaze" killing several crewmates, and later the occupation of Japan. He was recalled to duty 1950 - 1952 during the Korean conflict serving in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. He relived those experiences daily for the rest of his life. He is survived by his brother, Robert N. Tomlinson of Albuquerque; and nephews, (and families) Robert D. Tomlinson (Laurie and daughter Jillian) of Los Alamos and Erik Tomlinson (Kathy and daughter Amanda) of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Tomlinson of Albuquerque. Thanks to the staff of the VA Hospital, especially Dr. Jerry Montoya and Nurse Judith Engen for their wonderful care. Cremation has occurred. Graveside services will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Nov. 14, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. with the Navy Honor Guard attending. Arrangements by Fitzgerald and Son, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE.
