Obituary for White

Clarence"Ed" White, 82, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died on Saturday, July 13, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. White of the family home; daughter, Ilene Jayne; son, Jim White and wife, Rita, all of Albuquerque; three granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters. Born in Burke, SD, Mr. White grew up in Junction City, KS and moved to Albuquerque originally in 1940. He worked 15 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Clarence was a member of the Optimist Club of Albuquerque since 1984, a former Scout Master with the Boys Scouts of America, and coached for American Legion baseball. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 30 years of service and was a Chief Master Sergeant. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Mike Jayne, officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Optimist Club of Albuquerque, Youth Fund, P. O. Box 37227, 87176-7227, or to the Boy Scouts of America, Greater SW Council, 5841 Office Blvd. NE, 87109. Private disposition has taken place. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
