Bell -- Loren E. Bell, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1937, died Sunday, February 6, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Viola G. Bell of the family home; sisters, Mary M. Benoit of McMinnville, OR, Thelma R. Montgomery of Albuquerque, Louise C. Davis and husband, Harmon of Reno, NV and Marjorie J. Woody and husband, Seth of Springfield, OR; brother, Ronald R. Bell and wife, Betty of Horsham, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his brother, Harland J. Bell. He served in the US Army Signal Corps during WWII and made five"D-Day" landings. Mr. Bell was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church and served in many church offices. He was also a lifetime D.A.V. member. Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Joyce Lieberman and Rev. Bratun -- Rudolph Joseph Bratun, 78, a resident of Albuquerque for 36 years, died Monday, February 7, 2000 at his home. He was born December 12, 1921 in Murray, UT to Frances Schippel Bratun and John Joseph Bratun, both of them immigrants from Austria. He grew up in Murray and Salt Lake City. Mr. Bratun was recruited and hired by National Cash Register Company because of a store window display of a desk and cabinetry he made in high school. He served in the Navy from 1941 until the end of WWII as one of the first technicians for aviation applications for the new science of radar. While stationed in Stillwater, OK he met and married his future wife. He married Alma Gene Berry in 1944 and they were married for 55 years. After the war they moved to Salt Lake City where he was employed by National Cash Register for 45 years. He managed the Technical Services Division in Ogden, UT; Las Vegas, NV; Denver, CO; and Albuquerque. Mr. Bratun is survived by his wife, Alma; daughters, Juliana Bratun and her son, Zachary of Boulder, CO, Katy Bratun and husband, Steve Gregory and their son, Eric of Salem, MA, Liz Bratun of Sacramento, CA, and Annie Bratun of Jim Thorpe, PA. His family always felt his devotion to them and his kindness, humor and hard work were very much appreciated and he will be deeply missed. Cullom -- Robert F. Cullom, 75, passed away Monday, February 7, 2000, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 6, 1924 and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1971. He is survived by his wife, Gayle; his daughter, Penny Fogleman and husband, Ed Fogleman; sons, Jeff Cullom and Scott Cullom and wife, Amy; grandsons, Robert, David, Zach, Seth and Wesley; step-son, Bruce Tweeten and wife, Jody; and step-daughter, Jan Tweeten and fiance, Kevin Pennyweight. He was preceded in death by Shirley, his wife of 39 years. He attended Purdue University before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1944. Bob flew B-24's, B-25's, KC 97's and DC'3's. He served in the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict, receiving numerous citations, including The Bronze Star for meritorious service in 1966. After leaving the Air Force in 1976 as a Lt. Colonel, he continued his education obtaining his business degree from the University of Albuquerque in May 1977, graduating"Cum Laude." Bob enjoyed traveling, golf, and most of all, being with his family. His many friends and family will miss him more than words can say. Services will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Pastor Lemuel Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Flick -- Oliver Franklin Flick Jr., 58, a four year resident of Albuquerque, succumbed to a nearly year long battle with cancer on February 5th. Oliver was preceded in death by his ex-wife and longtime friend, Jamie L. (Dean) Flick of Alamogordo, NM. Also preceded in death by his mother, Edith Flick of Kokomo, IN. Oliver was born 2-21-41 in Kokomo, IN. During his high school years he excelled in basketball and track. After graduating he worked briefly for Delco. Soon after that Oliver joined the U.S. Air Force, working as a military police officer, then later being stationed at Holloman A.F.B. in Alamogordo, NM, working as a data processor. New Mexico soon became Oliver's"home" and the place he met and married Jamie L. Flick. He is survived by one daughter, Laura J. Flick of Albuquerque; two brothers, Larry Lee Flick, Jerry John Flick; and one sister, Anita Darlene Flick. He is also survived by his father, Oliver F. Flick Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews, all residing in Indiana. Because of his warm heart and compassion for people, Oliver had many dear friends. His"adopted daughters", Brenda Branch and Kimberly Feinberg of Albuquerque and his best friend since childhood, George Perkins of Indiana, are just a few among the many treasured friends he had through the years. Oliver will be greatly missed....he was (and is) loved by all that knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Per request of Oliver, there will be no funeral services and the body will be cremated.

Garcia -- Frank Garcia Jr., 59, a resident of Belen, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2000. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and"La Grand Pastorella". Frank retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 30 years of dedicated service. He was also a science mentor for high schools throughout New Mexico. Frank was currently working at the Wells Fargo Bank (main branch) on 2nd and Lomas, where he was known as"Sarge". He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma O. and Frank C. Garcia; brother, Lindy Garcia. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Ruth of the family home; his children, Margie Villella and her husband, Anthony, Corrine Patterson and her husband, Garry, Frank Garcia and his wife, Ronda, Edwin Garcia and his wife, Andrea, Diane Garcia, and David Garcia; three sisters, Dylia Castillo, Norine Gabler and her husband, Harold, Geraldine Bustamante and her husband, Gene; three granddaughters; eight grandsons. A viewing will be held on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Glascock -- Charles William Glascock, a resident of Los Lunas, born on June 27, 1936 in Carlsbad, NM, passed away February 6, 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Aleen Parks Glascock; two sons, James Van and Charles Dwyne Glascock. He is survived by his daughter, Mari"Cathy" Sandoval and husband, Rodney of Los Lunas; sons, Billy Glen and wife, Ulva of Hawaii, William Michael and wife, Teresa of San Antonio, TX, Jeffrey Lane and wife, Carol of Albuquerque; one brother, Leaman and wife, Lucy of Van Der Wagan; two sisters, Mary Bowker of Capitan and Laura Knoblock of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two special friends, Jim Queens and Glenn Westfall. Glose -- Eleanor P. Glose, age 90, passed away Monday, February 7, 2000. She had been a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, coming here to make a home with her daughter. Survivors include her daughter, Winifred Glose of Albuquerque; sons, Richard A. Glose and wife, Patricia of Bethlehem, PA and Charles T. Glose III and wife, Rose of Long Beach, CA; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Barbara Andrews of Lancaster, PA. Mrs. Glose was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Glose Jr. in 1947; her grandson, William in 1988; and her great-grandson, James Richard in 1987. At her request, no services will be held. Haggins -- Madeline Haggins, 74, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 11 years, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2000. Madeline was born September 2, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Ernestine Therrien Hobson in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was married to Oliver Haggins in 1952. Madeline had been an Electronic Engineer in Commercial Electronics before retiring. Madeline is survived by her husband of 47 years, Oliver Haggins of Rio Rancho; one son, Edward Haggins and wife, Kristy of Rio Rancho; two brothers, Saxon Hobson of Rio Rancho and Edmond Hobson of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; seven grandchildren, Celyne Peebles, Dionne Alford and husband, Jason, Joanne Gamble, Danielle Gamble, Douglass Pearson, Rochelle Pearson and Christopher Cartwright; also six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and other family members. Macpherson -- Bob Macpherson, 48, died following a heart attack, January 26, 2000. He is survived by his sister, Penny Macpherson Storms of Dallas; step-brother, Rick Fowler; step-sisters, Julie Fowler and Dea Coletti of California; cousins, Jan Bennett, Mary Wilening, Richard Macpherson and Angus Macpherson; and a large community of good friends. Newlon -- Herbert Newlon, 71, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away at home on February 4, 2000. He served in the Air Force at the end of World War II and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1988 after 27 years of service. Herbert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mattie; his children, Nancy Rickerman and her husband, Steve of Albuquerque, Evan Newlon and his fiancee, Kathy Purr of Albuquerque, Richard Newlon of Los Lunas, Jill Thompson and her husband, Neil of Los Lunas; four grandchildren, Rachel and Graham Rickerman of Albuquerque, and Tessa and Katrina Thompson of Los Lunas; two step-grandchildren, Brian Vandenbosch of Seattle, WA and Kristina Etsitty of Albuquerque; one great-granddaughter, Sierra Barreras of Albuquerque; one brother, Carl Newlon and his wife, Jeanne of Sedan, NM; two sisters, Sylvia Ogle of Denver, CO and Nan Herber and her husband, Marvin of Texline, TX. Orlowski -- George A. Orlowski, 73, a resident of Belen, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2000. George was a retired Tool and Die maker of 43 years. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge and the Shrine. He was also a Veteran of the United State Navy. Pedropessi -- John Paul Pedropessi, age 87, died Monday, February 7, 2000. Ried -- Neva Beth Ried, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Friday, February 4, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Melvin and husband, Dave of Albuquerque and Beverly Listek and husband, Joe of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She taught first grade at Sandia Base Elementary School for 23 years and touched the lives of so many children. She was a loving and very special mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Ried was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harold O. Ried; and her son, Hal T. Ried. Romero -- Carlota F. Romero, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died Sunday, February 6, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Antonio Romero and Aaron Romero and wife, Fabby; daughters, Edna Martinez, all of Albuquerque and Ida Mooney and husband, Tom of Farmington; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Gilbert Rendon and wife, Josie of Albuquerque; sister, Viola Roybal and husband, Tony of California; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Romero was born and raised in Dixon, NM. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital after 19 years. Mrs. Romero was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Denet of Paguate, NM; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Serna -- Mary R. Serna went to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday, February 4, 2000. She was born June 1, 1921 in Calvert, TX to Severo M. and Maria Ruiz. Her loving husband, James H. Serna, preceded her in death. She is survived by her five children, Fred R. Serna, Mary C. Serna, Bernie R. Serna and wife, Linda, Rosario Nieto and husband, Eddie, Marie Serna and fiance, Rene Toledo, all of Albuquerque; brother, Eulalio Ruiz of Albuquerque; sisters, Ramona Walker of Bar Harbor, ME and Florence Angel and husband, Raymond of Carlsbad, CA; grandchildren, Orlena, Mary Ruth, Gabriel and Stephen Serna, Rachel Sotelo, Jimmy, Johnny and Sarita Nieto; numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the following for all their unselfish time and effort in caring for our mother, Vera Moravek, the Home Health Aide, Theresa Padilla, Patricia Serna, and Theresa Torrez, the wonderful and helpful staffs of Presbyterian Hospice, and Dr. Richard Guidice's offices. An evening service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2000, 7:00 p.m., at Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW, Albuquerque. Interment and graveside services will be held Friday, February 11, 2000, 10:30 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque. Stagg -- Dr. Harry Stagg, 101, a resident of Albuquerque since 1938, died Sunday, February 6, 2000. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Tope and husband, Dwight and Marcia Cantrell, both of Albuquerque; grandsons, Rock Tope and wife, Debbie, James Cantrell, Stephen Cantrell and wife, Beth, Tom Cantrell and wife, Geri, all of Albuquerque, Chris Tope and wife, Dee of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jack Cantrell and wife, Laura of Rio Rancho; granddaughters, Carol Ramel and husband, Greg of Alamogordo; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Basil Stagg of Ball, LA. Dr. Stagg was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Rock Stagg in 1999. He was the Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Gallup from 1925 to 1938; was Executive Director of the Baptist Convention of NM from 1938-1968, and was the Executive Director Emeritus; was the driving force behind the establishment of Glorieta Baptist Assembly; was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albuquerque since 1938; was a member of the Rotary International since 1927; was a past District Governor, a Paul Harris Fellow and a Clinton Anderson Fellow; was a past member of the American Legion; was a member of the D.A.V.; served as District Chaplain for V.F.W.; and received the French Legion Medal of Honor. Services will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway NE, Joseph B. Underwood officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Stephen Cantrell, Tom Cantrell, Rock Tope, Chris Tope, Aaron Coffey and Jack Cantrell. Steele -- Harold Steele"Huggy Bear", 66, a resident of Albuquerque for 27 years, formerly of Findlay, OH, died Sunday, February 6, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lena Steele of the family home; daughter, Shauna Steele of Albuquerque; son, Scott Steele and wife, Noel of Alameda; granddaughter, Sabra Steele; sister, Eleanor Fellers and husband, Dr. Jon Fellers of San Diego, CA; and many other nieces and nephews. Mr. Steele was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great friend to all. He loved to fish with his daughter and granddaughter. Mr. Steele was a retired brick mason. He was a member of Heaven Bound Ministries Church. Mr. Steele loved the Lord and sang gospel music all his life.
