Mary R. Serna went to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday, February 4, 2000. She was born June 1, 1921 in Calvert, TX to Severo M. and Maria Ruiz. Her loving husband, James H. Serna, preceded her in death. She is survived by her five children, Fred R. Serna, Mary C. Serna, Bernie R. Serna and wife, Linda, Rosario Nieto and husband, Eddie, Marie Serna and fiance, Rene Toledo, all of Albuquerque; brother, Eulalio Ruiz of Albuquerque; sisters, Ramona Walker of Bar Harbor, ME and Florence Angel and husband, Raymond of Carlsbad, CA; grandchildren, Orlena, Mary Ruth, Gabriel and Stephen Serna, Rachel Sotelo, Jimmy, Johnny and Sarita Nieto; numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the following for all their unselfish time and effort in caring for our mother, Vera Moravek, the Home Health Aide, Theresa Padilla, Patricia Serna, and Theresa Torrez, the wonderful and helpful staffs of Presbyterian Hospice, and Dr. Richard Guidice's offices. An evening service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2000, 7:00 p.m., at Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW, Albuquerque. Interment and graveside services will be held Friday, February 11, 2000, 10:30 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary R. Serna's memory to Presbyterian Hospice, 8100 Constitution Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112, phone: 559-1122. Cremation arrangements were by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.
