Tejada -- Jacob Tejada, 82, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, May 23, 1999. He was born September 8, 1916 near Wagon Mound, New Mexico, and spent his career dealing with agriculture and assisting rural families and farmers in New Mexico and Latin America. Survivors include his wife, Lina of 55 years; his children, Rev. Dennis J. Tejada, Rita Gordon, Bernice Castelo, Pierre Tejada, and Grace Cataldo. Other survivors include five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The Prayer Vigil will be held Tuesday, May 25, 199 at 7:00 p.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina where the Funeral Liturgy will be concelebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 1999, with Bishop Ricardo Ramirez, CSB, presiding. The Rite of Committal and interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jacob Tejada Memorial Scholarship Fund at NMSU, P.O. Box 30003, 3 AG, Attn: Development Office, Las Cruces, NM 88003.
