Rasmussen -- Robert M. Rasmussen, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died Monday, May 17, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Marian Rasmussen of the family home; two sons, Erik Rasmussen and wife, Elizabeth of Arlington, VA and Craig Rasmussen and wife, Maria Jose of Salinas, CA; and two grandchildren, Meghan and Hallie. Mr. Rasmussen was a U.S. Navy Intelligence veteran of WWII and Korean Conflict where he served as a Code Breaker. He loved to garden and to sail. Stevens -- Mr. Joe G. Stevens died Wednesday in Los Lunas at the age of 68. Mr. Stevens was a member of the St. Therese Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion 100. Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Bessie Stevens of Albuquerque; sons, Gilbert Stevens of Los Lunas, John Stevens of Albuquerque, and Frank Stevens and wife, Cynthia of Los Lunas; daughters, Lucille Archibeque and husband, Lonnie of Albuquerque, Pauline Edmunds of North Carolina, Diana Martinez and husband, Daniel of Albuquerque, Rosemary Duran of Los Lunas, Connie Haigg and husband, Richard, Elizabeth Parra and husband, Frank, and Mary Jane Lovato, all of Albuquerque; sister, Audrey Phillips and husband, Lonnie of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Stevens will be held on Monday at the St. Therese Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Joseph Archibeque, Orlando Archibeque, Delonna Stevens, Michael Phillips, Andrea Stevens and Michelle Ortega. Honorary pallbearers will be Manuel Ortega, Carlos Duran and Nichole Benavidez. A Rosary for Mr. Stevens will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Therese Church. Armijo -- Susanita (Susie) Armijo, 82, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 1999, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Juan Armijo; one son, Pete H. Armijo; and a grandson, Raymond Lovato Jr. She is survived by one son, Antonio M. Armijo and wife, Vickie of Salt Flats, TX; five daughters, Ramona M. Armijo of Albuquerque, Amelia M. Roybal and husband, Peto of Maywood, CA, Carolina M. Martinez of Albuquerque, Gloria Lovato and husband, Raymond of Freemont, CA, and Lupe F. Armijo of Hendreson Nevada; one daughter-in-law, Laura Armijo of Bell, CA; one brother and sister-in-law, Juanito and Faustina Ramirez of Dolores, CO; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, 8th and Stover. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Conrado Armijo, Carlos Bernal, Paul Gonzales, Sgt. Jaun Lovato, Che Romero, and Michael Schaus. Funeral services are under the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover.

Beall -- Marcia McClary Beall, 68, born January 4, 1931, in Dawson, New Mexico, died May 15, 1999, at her home with family members at her side. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George; two daughters, Nancy Nickoley and husband, Paul and their sons, Scott, Todd and Karl of Highlands Ranch, CO, Sandra Russell and husband, William and their son, Aidan of New York City; one brother, J. Robert McClary and wife, Sonja of Eureka, CA; one sister, Carol McClary Myers of Albuquerque; and numerous nephews and nieces. Marcia volunteered countless hours during her husband's military career and established homes in Kentucky, Germany, Oklahoma, Washington, Texas, Kansas, Washington, DC, and Albuquerque. Since 1973 she had taken care of all administrative responsibilities for the family business. Marcia was a founding member of the Convention and Activities Committee of the New Mexico Home Builders Association and gave generously of her time and talent for more than eight years. Her particular focus each year was the design and fabrication of unique tote bags that quickly became the"signature event" for the Association trips and caused her to be known affectionately as"The Bag Lady." Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, with Rev. Dewey Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Bennett -- Lila Bennett, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999. She is survived by daughter, Nikki Kull and husband, Michael; son, Max D. Bennett and wife, Pam; sister, Wanda L. Kilgo; grandchildren, Nolan Bennett and wife, Katie, Meredith Bennett, Krista Earickson and husband, Steve, Heath and wife, Lani Kull; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Earickson and Britney Hanchett. Lila enjoyed hiking all different trails throughout New Mexico. She was the co-owner of The Gals women's shop in Portales in the 1980s and a member of the Portales Women's Club and Garden Club. Lila was active in First Methodist Church in Portales and St. John's United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. She also participated in arts and crafts and was an accomplished seamstress. Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Bowman -- Evelyn Bowman, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past year and a half, and a longtime resident of Los Alamos and Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 1999. Evelyn was born August 24, 1913 the daughter of Frank C. and Ruth Pace Houlihan in Virden, New Mexico. She had been a bookkeeper for a construction company for 23 years, before retiring. Evelyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Alamos. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Lee Bowman and son, Fred Zumwalt and one daughter, Deannie Sorrels and her husband, Seigel Sorrels. She is survived by five children, Lorraine Livermore and her husband, Martel, Milton Freestone and wife, Bobbie, Joe Bowman and wife, Mary, Sally Winn and husband, Ken, and Ruth Gibsona and husband, Hezzie; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. A visitation for Evelyn will be held today, Friday, May 21, 1999 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The service will be on Saturday, May 22, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Alamos with the interment to follow in Guaje Pines Cemetery, Los Alamos. Harris -- COL (Ret) Judd Thomas Harris, Jr. 11/24/20 - 5/19/99COL (Ret) Judd T. Harris, Jr. passed away Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at his home in Albuquerque after a brief illness. Judd was born on November 24, 1920 in Hoquaim, Washington. Judd was married by proxy to Vinita"Nita" Evelyn Booth on August 14, 1943 while serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. They later reaffirmed their vows in Seattle, Washington on November 11, 1944 after his return from the war in the South Pacific. Judd was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and the Vietnam War. Judd joined the U.S. Army shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor as a Private and rose to the rank of Full Colonel during the course of a thirty (30) year military career. Judd and his family moved to Albuquerque in 1967, where he later retired from the military and went on to teach middle school science in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Judd is survived by his loving wife, Nita; his daughter, Kristin Pilling, grandchildren, Erin and Jason Pilling; son, Michael and wife, Sandy, grandchildren, Sarrah and Charlotte; son, Craig, grandchildren, Amie and Eric; great-grandchild, Destinee; son, Scott and wife, Deedee, grandchildren, Shane and Cole; and son, Steven and wife, Gena, grandchildren, Logan and Denny. Judd attended the University of Washington prior to World War II and later received his Baccalaureate Degree from the University of Nebraska in Omaha. He received his Master of Arts Degree at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Judd was a dedicated family man. He actively participated with the growth and development of his five children, Kristin, Michael, Craig, Scott, and Steven through 15 years as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America; as a lifetime member and officer in Evening Optimist Club of Albuquerque; and family camping, sports, and wood crafts. Judd was also a journeyman, carpenter and cabinetmaker, a Free Mason, and an accomplished home builder. He was an RV and powerboat owner, downhill snow skier, handball player, runner, fisherman, fitness, and outdoor enthusiast. Daddy, your loving wife, Nita, your children and family will miss you. You were always there for us and you will never be forgotten. We will always love you. Services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Col. Lemuel Boyles, Ret (USAF). Hartley -- Ruth E. Hartley, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999. She is survived by her husband, James A. Hartley, marriage of 50 years; son, Douglas A. Hartley and Cynde L. Gates and children, Catherine and Chelsey; grandchild, Allison Hartley; and brother, Ray Ronald Rudolph and wife, Edith of Maryland. Ruth was a member of Asbury Methodist Church. Mrs. Hartley was a long standing volunteer for the New Mexico Natural History and Science Museum and previously The Smithsonian Institute in Washington. Hatchell -- Neal Franklin Hatchell, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Monday, May 17, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Edna E. Hatchell of 61 of the family home; two sons, Kirk Hatchell and wife, Beth of Albuquerque and Jim N. Hatchell of Albuquerque; and grandchild, Zeke Hatchell. He was a member of Mountain Side Church of Christ and child of God. Mr. Hatchell was an Army Veteran of WWII. Neal was also a member of VFW. Mr. Hatchell founded Hatchell Brothers Construction Company into a highly successful company of 47 years to present. He was a mentor and supporter of many fledgling businessmen and companies in Albuquerque. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Alan Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Jim Edgcomb, Mike Hatchell, Trevor Hatchell, Jack Wyse, Matthew Morris, and Jeff Hatchell.
