Obituary for Bowman

Evelyn Bowman, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past year and a half, and a longtime resident of Los Alamos and Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 1999. Evelyn was born August 24, 1913 the daughter of Frank C. and Ruth Pace Houlihan in Virden, New Mexico. She had been a bookkeeper for a construction company for 23 years, before retiring. Evelyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Alamos. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Lee Bowman and son, Fred Zumwalt and one daughter, Deannie Sorrels and her husband, Seigel Sorrels. She is survived by five children, Lorraine Livermore and her husband, Martel, Milton Freestone and wife, Bobbie, Joe Bowman and wife, Mary, Sally Winn and husband, Ken, and Ruth Gibsona and husband, Hezzie; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. A visitation for Evelyn will be held today, Friday, May 21, 1999 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The service will be on Saturday, May 22, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Alamos with the interment to follow in Guaje Pines Cemetery, Los Alamos. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations could be made to Delta Hospice, Inc., 3600 Menaul NE, Suite I, Albuquerque, NM 87110, or to a charity of your choice.
