MCGUINNESS -- Mr. Wilbur McGuinness, "Popeye", age 61, died Friday, March 4, 2005. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine McGuinness; sons, Martin McGuinness and wife, Antoinette, and Rudy McGuinness and wife, Liz; daughters, Terry Morris-McGuinness and husband, Leo; brothers, Charles McGuinness, Jimmy McGuinness, and Ricardo McGuinness; sisters, Yvonne Salazar and husband, Fidel, Deborah Marquez and husband, Anthony; and eight grandchildren, Martin McGuinness Jr., Monique McGuinness, Rudy McGuinness Jr., Richard McGuinness, Jude McGuinness, Paris Morris-McGuinness, Tanisha Morris-McGuinness, and Anastacia Morris-McGuinness. A Scripture Service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the San Jose Duranes Church. A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the San Felipe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. GUTIERREZ -- Veronica Gutierrez, age 46, passed away November 8, 2004 following a tragic automobile accident near Dilia, NM. Also killed were her niece Denise Chavez, her great-niece, Jaelynn Rodarte, and Christopher Rodarte. Veronica was born May 22, 1958 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Antonio and Terry Baca Gutierrez. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa where she graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1976. Veronica enjoyed bingo, and attending the Santa Rosa Lady Lion Volleyball and Basketball games. She was a loving mother to her kids; they meant the world to her. She is preceded in death by her niece, Denise Chavez; great-niece, Jaelynn Rodarte; great-nephew, Jayaire Sarabia; paternal grandmother, Donaciana Amador; and maternal great-grandmother, Amalia Baca. Survivors include daughter, Jessica Gutierrez, and twins Jason and Jackie Gutierrez; parents, Antonio and Terry Gutierrez of Santa Rosa; two brothers, Arsenio Gutierrez and wife, Bernice of Albuquerque, Albert Gutierrez and wife, Darlene of Santa Rosa; three sisters, Isabel Saiz and husband, Ruben of Puerto de Luna, Diane Chavez and husband, Patrick, Molly Andrada and husband, Mario of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are her Godchildren, Derrick Chavez and Ruby Saiz; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, November 11, 2004 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, from the Santa Rosa High School Gymnasium with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Patrick Josh Chavez, K.C. Meairs, Rosalie Ortega, Timothy Baca, Mario Andrada, and Priscilla Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will include Devin Chavez, Derrick Chavez, Elena Andrada, and Julianna Andrada, Denise Meairs, Jake Meairs, Martin Meairs, Marcus Meairs, Whitney Meairs, Members of the Santa Rosa Lady Lions Basketball team, and Coach Joseph Esquibel. JARAMILLO -- Arturo Carlos Jaramillo, age 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle was called to be at peace with his Heavenly Father on October 3, 2004. He was born February 4, 1918 and proudly served his country in the Air Corps during WWII. After WWII, Arturo operated a dairy farm in Tome for over 30 years. He loved history and geography and always encouraged the pursuit of higher education. His witty jokes, beautiful smile and passion for life will be missed by all. Arturo was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Jaramillo; his mother, Aurora Aguirre Jaramillo; and his brothers, Albert, Max, Luis, Telesfor, Carlos, and Menard Jaramillo. He is survived by his wife, Sophia Mireles Jaramillo; his sister, Sofie and her husband, Solomon Martinez; his sons, Arthur R. of Albuquerque, NM, Martin G. of Tome, NM, and Francis E.M. and his wife, Yolanda of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter, Elizabeth A. and her husband, Todd Braun of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Amavalise F., Francisco P., Orlando L. Jaramillo and Zachary Braun. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Tome beginning with a Rosary on Tuesday October 5 at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday October 6, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. COTINOLA -- Henry Cotinola Sr., 83, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2004. Mr. Cotinola was a life long resident of New Mexico. He was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Priscilla and one son Henry Jr.; one daughter Esther and three brothers and two sisters. Henry is survived by his daughters Catherine Cotinola; Susan Chavez and husband Ray; Sandra Thibadeau and husband Larry; Angela Valencia and husband Peter all of Albuquerque; sons Gilbert Cotinola and wife Ernestine of Glendale, California, Ron Cotinola, Ross Cotinola and wife Barbara both of Albuquerque; sister Marcella Ortega of Albuquerque; Seventeen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Frank Chavez, Carlos Polaco, Martin Baca, Tommy Chavez, Ron Cotinola, and Rossie Cotinola. Sons, Eloy Ortega and wife, Mary Ann, Gus and Reggie Castillo. Daughters, Bonnie Narvaiz and husband, Tony, Rose Weatherly and husband, John, Dolores Baca and husband, Robert. Brother, David Ortega; and special nephew, Robert Ortega both of Ortega's Weaving Shop in Chimayo. Mr. Ortega was preceded in death by his parents, Nicasio and Virginia Ortega; brothers, JoseRamon and Richard Ortega; and sister, Martha Maestas. He leaves 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. The Rosary and Funeral Mass will both be held Thursday, April 15, 2004 at San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 San Martin SW. MARTINEZ -- Theresa M. "Tere" Martinez, age 94, passed away at her home in Tucumcari, NM on Tuesday, March 30, 2004. Theresa Martinez was born November 3, 1909 at San Rafael (Montoya) in the Territory of New Mexico. She had made her home in Tucumcari, NM since 1958. She was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari. She was active in the Sociedad de Nuestra Senora and the Del Carmen Parroquia De Tucumcari (Carmalita Society). Surviving Theresa Martinez is her daughter, Dolores Marsh of Logan, NM; sons,, Gilbert Martinez and Rosendo and wife, Darlene all of Tucumcari, NM., Charles (Binky) Martinez, and wife, Jane of Albuquerque and Robert Martinez and wife, Delfie of Las Vegas, NM; brother, Tony Ortega and wife, Hortencia of Tucumcari; two sisters, Adelina Ortega and husband, Clemente, Romona Gonzales and husband, Martin all of Albuquerque. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cirilio Martinez; one daughter, Ida Martinez; two sons, William Martinez and Cirilio Martinez Jr. Rosary will be recited on Friday evening in the St. Anne's Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Anne's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Leo Padget as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Montoya, NM. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
