Fields -- Leland (Stan) Stanford Fields, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 26 years, died Thursday, February, 28, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ingrid Fields; daughter, Cassandra M. Coon of Chino Hills, CA; grandsons, Nevin Beighley of Denver, CO and Christopher Beighley of Zurich, Switzerland; and brother, Edgar A. Fields of Mission Viejo, CA. Stan was born in Frankfort, MO on July 21, 1922. He entered the Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet in 1942 and after graduation from pilot training and receiving his commission as a 2nd Lt., Stan flew the P-38, B-26 and A-20 from bases in England and France. He was discharged in 1946 and after a period working in Southern California and attending the University of Southern California, Stan was recalled to active duty in 1950 as an A-20 pilot and served in Korea in that capacity. After returning from Korea, Stan attended the Air Force Institute of Technology, graduating with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1955. He then spent five years in flight test at Edwards AFB, CA and six years in missile engineering at Norton AFB, CA. From 1966 to 1967, he served a tour in Vietnam as a C-7 (Caribou) pilot. Returning from Vietnam, Stan was attached to NASA at Cape Kennedy, FL. He retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Col.. in 1969 with 23 years of active duty. He had the rare experience of flying combat in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After leaving the Air Force, Stan worked as an engineer for Martin Marietta on space and missile systems until joining BDM International in Albuquerque in 1976. While with BDM, Stan served as a Flight Test Engineer supporting testing of C-5 and C-141 upgrades. His final assignment with BDM was leader of a systems engineering team supporting design and development of Northrop's B-2 bomber. All who have been privileged to know and work with Stan, in any capacity, have been struck with the honesty and integrity that was central to everything he did. Throughout his adult life, Stan was an exceptionally skilled woodworker creating many beautiful items that are treasured by his family and others who have been fortunate to acquire them. After retiring from BDM in 1986, Stan expanded his interest in woodworking through the design, patenting and production of a unique joinery machine. This machine, in use by a number of professional craftsmen, is a tribute to Stan's engineering and artistic talent. Services will be held Monday, February 11, 2002, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with The Rev. Dr. Ronald D. McConnell officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE, 87108.

Garcia -- Betty Ann Garcia, 57, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on March 7, 2002. Betty Ann is survived by her brothers, Isaias Garcia and wife Tomasita, Tranquilino Garcia and wife Marcelina and Paul Garcia and wife Mary Ann; sisters, Teresita Madrid and husband Albert, Amalia Otero and husband Caesar, Lillian Araiza and husband Tim; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Gilbert Garcia. Betty Ann was a member of the Catholic Church. A viewing will be Sunday afternoon at 1:30 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 2:00 by Gabriella Nieto. A final viewing will be Monday morning at 10:30 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 by Father Manuel Viera. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Elaine Sanchez, Martha Lucero, Joe Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Timmothy Araiza and Sammy Garcia. Goodrich -- Margot (Marge) G. Goodrich, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Thursday, March 7, 2002. She is survived by her son, Martin Lange and wife, Tina of Sarasota, FL; daughters, Cynthia Lewis and husband, Timothy and Trudy Randour and husband, Charles, all of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Heather, Melinda, Jeffrey, Christopher and Maleri. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Martin H. Lange and second husband, C. Paul Goodrich. Margot was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Nor Este Art Association and a member of the UNM Auxillary. Services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 Gold SE, with Pastor Randy Walquist officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Hall -- Billye Hall, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Sheldon W. Hall of Albuquerque; daughter, Zan Hinton and husband, Lane, of Lubbock Texas and their two sons, Bryan B. Ohnesorge and Jeffrey S. Ohnesorge; and daughter, Jo Lynn Billups and husband, Melvin, of Abilene, TX and their son, Matthew Luna; two great-grandchildren; brother, Leo B. Henderson -- V.R. Henderson, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1994 passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2002. He is survived by his two daughters, Kathryn Malone and husband, Fred of Albuquerque and Miriam Eley and husband, Elem of Titusville, NJ; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Duran and husband, Greg, Heather Sickenger and husband, Doug all of Albuquerque and Benjamin Eley of Titusville, NM; two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Steven Duran of Albuquerque. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Virginia Francis Selman and husband, Ervin; nephew, Don Selman; and niece, Ginger Gay all of San Antonio, TX. Venice Roland Henderson, Jr., better known as V.R., was born on February 10, 1917 in Waco, TX to the late Venice Roland and Adah B. Sugg Henderson. He was a devoted husband to Anita, his late wife of 54 years, and a dedicated father to his daughters and their families. Following graduation from Waco High School in 1935, V.R. worked for 50 years as a freight Rates and Claims Analyst. His job took him to San Antonio in the 1940's-50's where he also attended Trinity University. Upon retiring in 1988 from over 35 years with Central Freight lines in Waco, V.R. worked part time for several years at the Baylor University Moody Library. Beginning in his youth and throughout his life, V.R. was an avid music lover and active church member. He enjoyed singing in church choirs, photography, reading and working with his hands. This tall Texan possessed a friendly, witty, warm personality and a devotion to God, family and knowledge, a true"southern gentleman." A Memorial Service and interment was held Saturday, March 2, 2002 in Waco, TX. On Sunday, March 10, 2002, friends, relatives and Carestone family are invited to a reception to be held 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Carestone of Albuquerque, 7101 Eubank Blvd. NE. Hipsky -- Mary Hipsky, age 89, born February 17, 1913 passed away at home on March 7, 2002. Mary is survived by Dr. Ken Gluski and wife Ann of Galveston, TX; grandson, Christopher Gluski of, Galveston, TX; granddaughter in love, Lavita Chapin and husband John of, NM; best friend, Fred Anaya of NM. She is preceded in death by Elmer Al Hipsky (May 13, 1992) and Richard Hipsky (October 27, 1976). Mary, lived in New York City, and had a grocery business. She moved to Albuquerque in 1956 with her husband Al, who was the organizer of the Local Groceries Union; they owned and operated Old Town liquors. When the business was sold Mary remained home and was a homemaker. Mary was a loved-aunt, mother, wife, daughter and friend, who will be truly missed. She'll be remembered by her sense of humor and wit. You can now rest, you're home. You will be truly missed. It's the pain of your absence that we must endure. But we will never forget you. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm; Sunday, March 10, 2002 at St. Therese Church 3224 4th St. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, March 11, 2002 in Sunset Memorial Park. Howard -- In Loving Memory of Waldon A. Howard (Lt. Col. USAF, Ret.) November 12, 1922 - March 10, 2001Waldon A. Howard passed away on March 10, 2001 at the age of 78 following complications from emphysema. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Selma Geraldine Howard in 1998; and a son, Martin Lee Howard in 2000. He is survived by his children, Beth Howard and husband, Dennis of Edgewood, NM, Randall Howard and wife, Phyllis of Edgewood, NM, Shelley Howard and husband, Ed of Wylie, TX and Ann Gutierrez and husband, Ofie of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jessica Sisko of North Brunswick, NJ, Jasmine Wanner of Wylie, TX and Trish and Lee Gutierrez of Albuquerque; brothers, William Howard and wife, Patricia of Houston, TX and Gayle Van Horne and wife, Jo of Greenville, TX. He is also survived by special family friends, Donald Nickerson, Yolanda de Oro and Diane Gutierrez. The family wishes to thank all of his caregivers at Special Live-In Care, Inc. and all of his care providers at the VA Hospital who provided such wonderful care during his illness. Waldon had a fulfilling career with the United States Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1971 after 27 years of service. He served in the capacity of Bombardier, Navigator, Arsenal Advisor and Nuclear Weapons Officer, traveling all over the world. He loved hunting, fishing, golf, cabinetry, and jewelry making. Jackson -- Charles F. Jackson was born in Lynn, MA on February 7, 1930. He lived and worked in Albuquerque for many years. He worked on the construction of many buildings or structures in New Mexico, including the Albuquerque International Airport, now known as the Sunport, and Brantley Dam. He also contributed his carpentry skills to the Thunderbird Little League. Mr. Jackson served in the US Army during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth L. Jackson. He is survived by his brothers, Leonard, James, Robert, Richard, Ronald (David), Neil, Daniel. Wayne, and Gary; and his sisters, Barbara Lemoine and Gail Campbell. He is also survived by his children, Karen Jackson Souza, Charles F. Jackson, Jr., Lorna Duchane, Janice Ellis, Ginger Unruh, Steven and Peter Jackson. He has numerous grandchildren, including Courtney and Jeanne Jackson, Zachary and William Jackson, and Leighann Walker, all in the greater Albuquerque area. Mr. Jackson passed away in Gloucester, MA on February 26, 2002. The arrangements are being handled by Greeley Funeral Home in Glucester, MA. Lormor -- Donald Edwin Lormor, 83, of Leawood, KS, passed away March 6, 2002, at his home. Don is survived by his wife of almost sixty-one years, Arlene Maring Lormor; son, Gordon and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Lormor of Leawood, Kansas; grandson, Sean Lormor of Leawood, Kansas; sister, Margaret See of Naples, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Blanch Christopher Lormor; sister, Dora Lormor; brothers, Beryl Lormor and Kenneth Lormor. Don was born October 20, 1918 in Mount Auburn, Iowa. Don and Arlene met in high school in Waterloo, Iowa and were married on April 30, 1941. Later that year, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they spent most of their lives. Don retired after twenty-five years in the banking business as Vice President of the Bank of New Mexico, to become a custom home builder. In addition to Albuquerque, Don was in the building business in Midland, Texas where he and his family lived for several years. Don and Arlene moved to Sun City West, Arizona in June 1996, to enjoy the sunshine and warm winters. In June 2001, he and Arlene came to Kansas to make their home with their son and his family. Don devoted time to many organizations servicing as President of Albuquerque Jaycees, Vice President of New Mexico Jaycee's, leadership roles in the Rio Grande Lion's Club, and Senior Chamber of Commerce. The Albuquerque Jaycee's nominated him for the Distinguished Service Award. Don will be remembered most as a personable, gentle man who was respected for his love and devotion to family and friends, his integrity and his willingness to always give of himself. He liked nothing better than casting his fly rod over the Conejos River or a friendly game of golf. He will be greatly missed. Lukes -- Francis T. Lukes, devoted husband and father of five, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002 of complications related to Alzheimer's disease. Born in New York, New York in 1916, Frank lived a life of service to his family, his Catholic faith, and his country. He entered the United States Army in 1939 and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. His combat service was distinguished by numerous awards, including the Korean Service Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, the European African Middle East Campaign Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Bronze Star Second Award. An officer in the Army Intelligence Corp, Frank attended the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Presidio of Monterey from which he was graduated with distinction in 1950. Frank retired a Lieutenant Colonel from the military in 1969 from Sandia Base in Albuquerque. He was a founding partner in the Landmark Realty Company and later established Dominion Appraisal Associates, an Albuquerque real estate appraisal firm. Frank is survived by his wife, Lorene Adel Lukes; his daughter, Frances Haughom of Eugene, Oregon; his sons, Michael, Thomas, Peter, and Paul Lukes, all of Albuquerque; and his sister, Rose Christina McGuire of Orlando, Florida.
