LADUE -- Elizabeth Ann Ladue, 66, passed away after a long illness, on Thursday, November 25, 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Ladue and Venus Lichtenberger and husband, Daniel; son, Brad Ladue; nephew, Brian Henderson and wife, Angie; grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, Summer, Trent, and Travis; and her friend, Frank Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Ladue. Elizabeth was a graduate of the University of Albuquerque with an associate degree in nursing. She was a long time employee of Dr. Thomas Hayes and retired from Heights Medical Center. The family would like to thank Presbyterian Hospice for their kind and generous care. Cremation has taken place and per Elizabeth’s request, no funeral services will be held. MELCHOR -- Howard Turner Melchor, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Monday, November 22, 2004. He was born in Morresville, NC. He is survived by his two daughters, Sherry L. Melchor of Albuquerque and Debbie E. Melchor-Schenck and husband, Wendel of Farmington; grandchildren, Howard Glen Campbell of Farmington, and Rick Lee Campbell and wife, Alissa of Carrizozo; great-grandchild, Cameron Campbell of Carrizozo; brothers, Jack L. Melchor and wife, Norma of Palo Alto, CA, Randy Melchor of Baltimore, MD; sisters, Frances Davis of Salisbury, NC and Jean Bucheri and husband, John of Baltimore, MD. He was a well respected, honest and fair business owner of Southwest Machine Works, Inc. for more than 30 years. He was a devoted and loving father, as shown by the words he left: "Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you…I loved you so. 'Twas heaven here with you." Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. MITTEN -- Wayne Bennett Mitten, Jr. of Mesa, Arizona, passed away Friday, November 19, 2004, after a long illness. He was born in Fairbury, IL on February 15, 1929 to Wayne Bennett Mitten Sr. and Esther Marie Erickson. During high school his family moved to Evanston, IL. Wayne graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the U. of Illinois where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He served in the US Air Force as a 1st Lt. His talents as an engineer began with ACF Industries in Albuquerque, NM. Wayne then was manager of the Lawndale Army Missile Plant in California. Another opportunity lead the Mitten family to Connersville, IN where he was Manufacturing Manager of Philco-Ford Industries and an active member of the community as President of the Chamber of Commerce, VP of the local YMCA, and active in the Jr. Achievement Program. During the early 70s Wayne became VP of International Silver Co. in Meriden, CT. Keene, NH became the family's next home where Wayne was President of Millers Forge Co., Manager of Central Screw, and finally owner of Foreign Auto Parts. Ipsen International Industries asked Wayne to come to Langhorne, PA as their Sales Manager for Special Vacuum Furnaces. Upon retirement he became an Independent Consultant to several companies. In Mesa, AZ, many local establishments gave Wayne the opportunity to give of his talents; he was on the Board of the Southwest Shakespeare Co., an active member of the Presbyterian Church of the Master, and active with the Mesa YMCA. In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed his workshop, building a sailing dory, tinkering with his Mustang, fishing, and numerous hobbies. Wayne is survived by his wife, Frances Martin Mitten; son, Wayne B. Mitten III of NYC; daughter, Anne Mitten Fligor and husband, Bradford T. Fligor; grandchildren, Amy and William Fligor of Martha's Vineyard, MA; sister, Edith Louis Burns and husband, Kenneth J. Burns., Jr. of Lake Bluffs, IL; and six nieces and four nephews. Memorial services will be held in Mesa, AZ a Church of the Master, 11:30 a.m., January 15, 2005. MOREJON -- Carlota Marta "Mamita" Morejon, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Wednesday, November 24, 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Sara Sanchez and Marta Boydston and husband, Keith, all of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Jody Steele and husband, John of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandson, Bryan Boydston of Albuquerque; great-granddaughter, Ella Steele; and niece, Lisette Lozano and husband, Frank of Davie, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fabio Morejon, her parents, Calixto Augustin Laurent and Estela Primitiva Rojas and her brother ,Ramon Laurent. Carlota was born in Havana, Cuba, November 4, 1918. She met and married Fabio Morejon on October 7, 1944. Their two daughters were born there. Carlota and Fabio owned and operated a coffee distributing company, Monte Ruz, in Cuba. They sent their daughters to the United States on the Peter Pan Flights operated by Catholic Charities and in December of 1965 followed them to Albuquerque. They operated and owned Morejon Upholstery. Carlota was very active in the Cuban community. Her forte was cooking and sewing. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, Sunday, November 28, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Services will be held at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., on Monday, November 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual NE. NORTHCUTT -- Ida E. Northcutt, 83, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 21, 2004. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth E. Benjamin F.; sisters, Daisey Hay and Pauline Hughes; brothers, Willard and Perry Randall; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ida loved the Shriners and their Hospitals for Children. PFEUFER -- Roderick "Rick" Pfeufer, 56, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday November 26, 2004 of cancer. He is survived by his mother, Lila Armijo Pfeufer; sisters, Lila Ann Vernon, Jeanette Bonnell; niece, Catherine Mayo. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Pfeufer. Viewing and visitation for Rick will be held Monday November 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 100 Coal Ave. SE. QUINTANA -- John Quintana, age 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Wednesday, November 24, 2004. John was born in Costilla, NM; and was a resident of Taos, NM currently living in Rio Rancho. John enjoyed dancing and was a member of Los Bailadores del Norte Dance Group; he authored stories in La Herencia Magazine; he participated in the Senior Olympics; and was a great community leader. He was preceded in death by his parents, Filiberto and Sara Quintana. John is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia Maria Quintana formerly of Taos, NM; his children, Ann Lucero and husband, Richard of Alameda, NM, Orlando Quintana and wife, Rose of Taos, Rosemarie Padilla and husband, Robert of Corrales, NM, John Quintana, Jr. of Taos, Joyce Quintana of Rio Rancho, Celestina Quintana of Taos, David Quintana of Santa Teresa, NM, and Petra Quintana and David Rael of Taos; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Alice Alire of Denver, CO, Stella Reynolds and husband, Bud of Sacramento, CA, Agatha Jacobs of Lompoc, CA, Don Quintana and wife, Nettie of Brighton, CO, Anita Harrel of Denver, CO, Bert Quintana and wife, Bernice of Costilla, NM and Mae Gonzalez and husband, Jim of Denver, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends. John will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Visitations will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th Street NW, in Albuquerque; followed by a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. also at the church. Final viewing will be Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. RALPH -- Thurlow H. Ralph, 70, a resident of Albuquerque, died November 24, 2004. He is survived by his sons, Dale Ralph and wife, Tazmin of Albuquerque and Bill Ralph of Dickinson, Texas ; daughter, Pamela Solano of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jason, Zane, Brian, Joanna, Wesley, Corrie, Jessica, Jonathan; two great-granchildren, Aliyah and Neo. RICHARDSON -- Elizabeth (Betty) A. Richardson joined the love of her life, William (Bill) on Friday, November 26, 2004. She was born February 3, 1924 in Henderson, PA, to William and Sara Marshall. Betty attended Hamburg High School in Hamburg, NY, and married Bill on August 16, 1941. She worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, CA, during WW II while Bill served in the Army in Europe. After the war, Betty and Bill purchased a 40-acre farm in Henderson, PA, and moved to Albuquerque in 1955. She worked at Jackson Jr. High School food services for 101/2 years. She was an avid sports enthusiast and never missed an Atlanta Braves baseball game. She always looked forward to the World Series, but also watched football, tennis, golf, and bowling. As a young woman, she was a fantastic swimmer, tennis player, and an avid bowler. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominos with her close friends and neighbors. Betty was a founding member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill who passed on June 19, 2004; her parents, William and Sara Marshall; and her sister, Gert Ellen Wike. Betty is survived by her children, Michael R. and wife, Susan, David M. and wife, Vivian, Kathleen R. Lamar and husband, John; brother, Malcolm Marshall of Sandy Lake, PA; sister, Billie Jean George of Warren, OH; grandchildren, Paige Mahoney and husband, Thomas, Brian Richardson and wife, Lori, Michael D. Richardson and wife, MacKenzie, Eric Richardson, and Johnny Lamar; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Caitlin Mahoney, Austin and Brandon Richardson, and Makaela Richardson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her family will always remember and miss her great cooking with her special “Grandma Dust.” The family would also like to give a special thank-you to family member Chris Richardson, the hospice nurses, and the aides who cared for her during her illness. Cremation has taken place and private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at The Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School. ROTH -- Hsi-yen Brenton Roth. Loving grandmother of Mark Brenton. Beloved sister of Witsie McKelvy. Born July 21, 1926 in Beijing, China; died November 23, 2004 at her home under Hospice care. Generous, gentle, kind, and loving, she possessed a keen eye for art and whimsy. Attended the High School of Music and Art in New York, and received a B.A. in Journalism from New York University. Production editor in New York for several professional journals. Hsi-yen and Mark moved to Albuquerque from New York City in 1995. She loved her adopted Southwest, the people, the native art, and her home and garden here. She is survived also by loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial service Saturday, December 4th at 1:00 at First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE.
