Hsi-yen Brenton Roth. Loving grandmother of Mark Brenton. Beloved sister of Witsie McKelvy. Born July 21, 1926 in Beijing, China; died November 23, 2004 at her home under Hospice care. Generous, gentle, kind, and loving, she possessed a keen eye for art and whimsy. Attended the High School of Music and Art in New York, and received a B.A. in Journalism from New York University. Production editor in New York for several professional journals. Hsi-yen and Mark moved to Albuquerque from New York City in 1995. She loved her adopted Southwest, the people, the native art, and her home and garden here. She is survived also by loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial service Saturday, December 4th at 1:00 at First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE.
