RICHARDSON -- Elizabeth (Betty) A. Richardson joined the love of her life, William (Bill) on Friday, November 26, 2004. She was born February 3, 1924 in Henderson, PA, to William and Sara Marshall. Betty attended Hamburg High School in Hamburg, NY, and married Bill on August 16, 1941. She worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, CA, during WW II while Bill served in the Army in Europe. After the war, Betty and Bill purchased a 40-acre farm in Henderson, PA, and moved to Albuquerque in 1955. She worked at Jackson Jr. High School food services for 101/2 years. She was an avid sports enthusiast and never missed an Atlanta Braves baseball game. She always looked forward to the World Series, but also watched football, tennis, golf, and bowling. As a young woman, she was a fantastic swimmer, tennis player, and an avid bowler. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominos with her close friends and neighbors. Betty was a founding member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill who passed on June 19, 2004; her parents, William and Sara Marshall; and her sister, Gert Ellen Wike. Betty is survived by her children, Michael R. and wife, Susan, David M. and wife, Vivian, Kathleen R. Lamar and husband, John; brother, Malcolm Marshall of Sandy Lake, PA; sister, Billie Jean George of Warren, OH; grandchildren, Paige Mahoney and husband, Thomas, Brian Richardson and wife, Lori, Michael D. Richardson and wife, MacKenzie, Eric Richardson, and Johnny Lamar; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Caitlin Mahoney, Austin and Brandon Richardson, and Makaela Richardson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her family will always remember and miss her great cooking with her special “Grandma Dust.” The family would also like to give a special thank-you to family member Chris Richardson, the hospice nurses, and the aides who cared for her during her illness. Cremation has taken place and private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at The Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School.
