SANCHEZ -- Gilbert O. Sanchez, 58, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 16, 2010. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Air Force. Gilbert is preceded in death by his father, Pablo Sanchez; mother, Cleotilde Sanchez; sister, Sara Luna; and three brothers, Paul Sanchez, Billy Sanchez, and Tony Sanchez. He is survived by his three daughters, Trina Sanchez and Mike Maes of Albuquerque, NM, Carmen Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM, and Paula Lovato and Rocky Lovato of Rio Rancho, NM; six grandchildren, Alexandria and Adam Gallegos, Joseph and Tomas Duran, and Brandon and Alyssa Lovato; three sisters and two brothers, Esther Luna, and husband, Pedro, of California, Frances Lopez, and husband, Daniel, of Peralta, NM, Jean Sanchez and Gary Hammer of Dixon, NM, Celestino Sanchez, and wife, Stella, of Albuquerque, NM, and Rudy Sanchez and wife, Loyda, of Battle Mtn, NV; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends that loved and will miss him. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa Little Flower Catholic Church, 4th and Mildred NW on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. A Gathering will follow at American Legion, Post 69, 9000 4TH ST NW. A Private Family Burial will take place at a later time. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roman Atencio, Steven Lopez, Phillip Lopez, and Noconna Sanchez. BARELA -- Eddie "Satch" Lee Barela, 55, born on August 8, 1954 went home to our Lord on Sunday, June 6, 2010. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Eulalia Barela; brothers, George and Charlie Barela; and sister Ruth Zamora. He is survived by the mother of his daughters Martha Barela; daughters, Elizabeth Barela and Dolores Duran and husband Gilbert; granddaughters, Analisha Espinosa and Cassandra Duran; girlfriend Sandy Mcafee; brother Ernest Barela and wife Frances; four sisters, Clorinda Romero and husband Pete, Dora Sena and husband Arthur, Eve Waggerman and Emily Lencioni and husband Mark; many nieces and nephews and friends. A rosary and celebration of life ceremony will be at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Pajarito Cemetary on Coors SW. Honorary Pallbearer: Nellie Barela.

MOYA -- Edward Andrew (Mangas) Moya, age 54, of Nashville, Tennessee, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 from complications with pneumonia. He was born December 13, 1955 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, Lalo Moya. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Moya, of 36 years; sons, Juan Montoya and wife, Rhonda, Louie Palacios and fiancee, Sonya Duran; daughters, Elizabeth Moya, and Bernadette Valencia and husband, Angelo, Sarah Moya, and Christine Magana; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Julia Elliott, and stepdad, Merle Elliott ; stepmom, Carla Moya; seven brothers; eight sisters; numerous nieces, nephews and too many friends to count. Edward truly loved the Lord, his family, and had a passion for welding. He was an employee at Metromont Corporation. He was a simple man whose arms were always open to those in need. He would give anything he had to make another persons life better. He raised his children in the Lord and constantly maintained that respect throughout his life. His smile warmed our hearts and the hearts of those who knew him. His kindred spirit and warm heart will be missed forever. Funeral Services for will be held at New Beginnings Church, 3601 Montgomery Blvd N.E. on Friday June 11, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Rolando Benavidez will officiate. A fellowship will follow. DOW -- Erlinda Duran Dow, 84, of Weatherford, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away Sunday May 30, 2010 at the local hospital. Erlinda was born December 8, 1925 in Belen, New Mexico to Antonio C. and Adelina Baca Duran. She worked as a secretary for Sandia Base Laboratory in Albuquerque for 31 years; she was a member of North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford where she enjoyed singing with the Foundation Singers. Erlinda was also very active playing games at the nursing home in Weatherford where she resided for the last few years. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Garcia, grandson Miguel Gutierrez and wife Tamra; great-granddaughter, Gracie Gutierrez all of Weatherford; sisters, Lugarda Abeyta and Carmen Chavez of Albuquerque. Memorials may be made to North Side Baptist Church Building Fund or the Foundation Singers, 910 North Main St. Weatherford, Texas 76086 There are no services scheduled at this time.

CASAUS -- Celestina (Tina) Maria Casaus, 81, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010. Tina was born on February 1, 1929 to Frank and Leandra (Ulibari) Baca in Santa Rosa, NM. Tina was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (Gene) R. Casaus in 2008. They were married on December 13, 1948 in Albuquerque, and lived in San Jose, before returning to Albuquerque in 1952 to start their business, Universal Building Co. Tina was an active as a Toastmistress, UNM Hospital Service League volunteer and officer, and politically active in her community and nationally in the 1970's and 1980's. Tina foremost was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her two daughters, Johanna Casaus, and Annette Casaus Duran of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brian Milburn and wife, Shannon of New Orleans, LA, Jenna Milburn DiPasquale and husband, Jeff of Mission Viejo, CA, Gabriel Duran, Andrew Duran and their father Jose Duran; great-grandchildren, Violet, Simon, and Bailey Milburn and Luca and Mia DiPasquale; five brothers and five sisters of New Mexico; many nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Preceded in death are also sister, Margaret Marquez; and grand-daughter, Celestina Duran. She was very loved and will be deeply missed. Rosary will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2010, 6:00 p.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Place SE, with visitation one hour prior to rosary. CASAUS -- Celestina (Tina) Maria Baca Casaus, 81, a long time resident of Albuquerque. Passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010. Tina was a very active member and past president of the Toastmistress Oku Pin Club, Turquoise Region. She served as Commissioner of the Metropolitan Redevelopment/ Urban Development Commission in 1981; She was a member of the UNM Hospital Service League in the '70's and '80's, and served as a past treasurer and was president from 1984-1985. She was also a very active Democrat, with the honor of being chosen as an Alternate Delegate for the Democratic Convention of 1980. She is survived by her two daughters, Johanna Casaus, and Annette Casaus Duran of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brian Milburn and wife, Shannon. Of New Orleans, LA. Jenna Milburn DiPasquale and husband, Jeff of Mission Viejo, CA. Gabriel Duran, Andrew Duran and their father Jose Duran; great-grandchildren, Violet Milburn, Simon Milburn, Bailey Milburn, Luca and Mia DiPasquale. She also survived by five brothers; and five sisters of New Mexico; many nieces and nephews; and brother and sisters in-law. Preceded in death are also sister Margaret Marquez; and grand-daughter Celestina Duran. The family would like to give special thanks to Donna Waite for her care and companionship these last two years. She was very loved and will be deeply missed. DURAN -- Gilbert Duran Jr., 89, a resident of Los Angeles, CA and a former resident of New Mexico, passed away on April 30, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Catalina Duran; sons, Alfonso Orlando Duran and Gilbert Duran III; daughters, Patricia Duran and Catherine Duran; a sister, Ernestina Duran Evans and her son, Stanley Evans; He is the beloved grandfather of Adrienne and Jeffrey Shanks and Andrew and Michael Duran; and the great-grandfather of Adam Shanks. He is also cherished as a loving grandfather by the family of his wife, Catalina, who welcomed him into their home with love and great kindness. He is also survived by numerous relatives in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Born in the New Mexican village of El Rito, Gilbert left at age 17 to find work in California. Enlisting in the army at the start of WWII, he served in the battle of Corregidor and was one of the thousands of soldiers who endured the Bataan March and over three years of prison camp before liberation. Upon his return he earned a degree in Forestry at Colorado State University and spent his career in the U.S. Forest Service, first in New Mexico and later in Washington, D.C. Upon retirement and the death of his beloved first wife, Porfiria Ortega Duran, he moved to San Diego, where he followed politics avidly, having many incisive and trenchant letters published in the San Diego Times. He was a member of the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 10, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. til 7:00 p.m. at French - University location.
