Martinez -- John Martinez, 75, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. He was a member of the Catholic Church, the DAV, and he proudly served his country during W.W.II in the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Camilio and Sophia Martinez; two sisters, Aurora and Helen; and three brothers, Pat, Paul, and Benny. John is survived by his loving daughter, Virginia Lopez and her husband, Mike of Los Lunas; two sisters, Olive Padilla, of Albuquerque, and Mary Trujillo, of Denver, CO.; and one brother, Joe Martinez, of Pueblo, CO. John is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home with a Rosary following at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado on Monday, September 17, 2001 at 12:00 p.m. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Byrd -- Robert L. Byrd, Sr.,"Bob", 79, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2001 at Sandia Hospice, after a long battle with a neurological disease. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Pat Byrd of the family home; sons, Robert L. Byrd, Jr."Boby" and wife, Marvalee of Mesa, AZ, Stephen Byrd and wife, LouAnne of Albuquerque, Thomas Byrd and wife, Valerie of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Sue Kline, Anita Valentine and husband, Doug, Helen Knee and husband, Steve, and Deanna Byrd-Thompson, all of Albuquerque, Mary Pat (Sugar) Varbel and husband, Ray of Los Lunas, NM, Nancy Moke and husband, Will of San Antonio, TX, Vicki Schmahl and husband, Pete of Littleton, CO, and Cathy Melloy and husband, Dan of Tijeras, NM; 47 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Byrd and five grandchildren. Mr. Byrd lived in Albuquerque for 46 years with a five-year residency in Los Lunas. He was employed by Sandia Laboratories for 33 years as a Security Inspector. Mr. Byrd served as Secretary Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the International Guards Union of America for several years and was Regional Director of Region 6. He served as Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps during WWII in the Asiatic Theater of Operation on a B24 as an engineer and gunner. Mr. Byrd received the Good Conduct Medal, The Air Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, and Victory Medal. He also served in the Aleutians. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 13, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Ghost Church, 833 Arizona SE, with Father Rick Zerwas, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Sandia Hospice, 4775 Indian School Rd. Mann -- Catherine Huguenor Mann, age 88, died on September 7, 2001 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Hornell, New York to Leon and Lora Hamilton Huguenor. She was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II with the rank of First Lieutenant. Catherine was a registered nurse. She moved to Albuquerque eight years ago from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Huguenor and Richard Huguenor; and a sister, Nina Stamps. She is survived by a son, Nathan Mann and wife, Cynthia of Albuquerque; a sister, Helen Lyman of Orchard Park, NY; and two grandchildren, Ryan Mann and Jonathan Mann, both of Albuquerque. Gallagher -- Helen F. Gallagher: June 10, 1911 - September 6, 2001 Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother entered eternal life on September 6th, 2001. Born and raised in New York City she was a long time resident of Albuquerque. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Meyer and her husband, Robert of Ruidoso; her grandchildren, Theresa, Andrew and Claremarie Meyer of Albuquerque, Jennifer Gallagher of Tijeras, Eric Meyer and Carolyn Gallagher of Denver, CO, Christine Parrish of Largo FL; and her great-grandchildren, Meagan, A1isha, and Joshua. She attended the Justine Ward Academy for Young Ladies in New York. She worked for many years for The WestVeco-Food Machinery Corporation, Tully and DiNapoli Construction Company, and the Daimler-Benz Corporation. Mrs. Gallagher was preceded in death by her beloved son, Douglas M. Gallagher in 1996. She also leaves dear friends, Jean O'Loughlin and Kathy Romano of Four Hills. Services for Mrs.Gallagher will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel on Monday, September lO, 2001 at 10:00 am. The Reverend Douglas Mitchell from Risen Savior Parish will officiate. Sedillo -- Mrs. Senaida (Sadie) Schubert Sedillo, 90, died peacefully at home in the company of her family on September 5, 2001. Mrs. Sedillo was born on April 23, 1911 in Santa Cruz, NM to Federico Schubert and Eloisa Gonzales-Schubert. She was raised in Tajique, NM by Luis and Eslinda Gonzales. It was here that she met and married her late husband, Pedro (Pete) Sedillo on November 3, 1928. The family of five moved to Albuquerque in 1945 where she gained employment with Sandia Laboratories and later retired in 1970. Sadie returned to Tajique with her husband and remained there until the death of her husband shortly after celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary in 1992. In addition to her husband who preceded her in death, is her son/grandson Freddie J. Sedillo; her daughter, Antonia Sedillo; her grandsons, Benjamin Torrez and Alex Muller; and her son-in-law, Lorenzo Torrez. Surviving her is her son, Pedro (Pete) Sedillo Jr. and wife, Christine; one daughter, Pricilla Torrez and friend, Joe Gonzales; four grandsons, John Torrez, Frank Sedillo, Joel Sedillo and Peter Sedillo III; three granddaughters, Ruby Sandoval and husband Tom, Loretta Smith and husband, Pete, Joylynn Perea and husband, Victor; 11 great-grandsons, Tommy Sandoval Jr. and wife, Beth, Martin Sedillo and wife, Rhonda, Christopher Sedillo and wife, Gerry, Jonathan Sedillo, Benjamin Sedillo BJ Sedillo, Christopher Smith, Matthew Smith, Peter Sedillo IV, John Jacob Torrez and Joshua Perea; four great-granddaughters, Veronica Perea, Amanda Torrez, Nicole Sedillo, Joanne Sandoval-Castillo and several great-great- grandchildren. Two surviving sisters, Helen Ledesma and Sally Arevalo of CA; her two beloved nieces, Cheryl Vasquez and husband, Joe and Julia Hernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; several Hospice nurses and in home caretakers and beloved friend, Lillian Perea of Chihuahua, Mexico as well as many beloved friends and neighbors from the Estancia Valley and Albuquerque. Sadie was a member of the San Antonio Catholic Church in Tajique, NM. By request Deacon Juan Lucero will officiate the Communion Service on Monday morning, September 10, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. in the San Antonio Church in Tajique and Mary Gonzales recited the Rosary Friday evening September 7, 2001 in the Church of the Ascension, 2105 Raymac, SW. Sadie's ashes will be interred beside her husbands in the San Antonio Cemetery in Tajique, NM. Pallbearers will be Richard Sanchez, Michael Moya, Joe Vasquez, Tom Sandoval, Pete Smith, Martin, Chris, Nicole, Jonathan Pete IV and Benjamin Sedillo, Joe and Larry Gonzales, BJ Sedillo, Larry Herrera and Al Hernandez. Mcintosh -- Ralph Vinson McIntosh, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died at the age of 87 in Show Low, Arizona on August 27, 2001. Ralph called"Mac," was born in Ashland, Kentucky on October 18, 1913. He moved to Albuquerque in 1920 with his family. His parents and three siblings preceded him in death: Mildred Thompson, Sue Freidank, and John McIntosh. Mac served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Card, in the Atlantic. Following the war, he worked in a variety of positions. He was an auto mechanic, a projectionist in movie theaters in downtown Albuquerque, and he built clinics in outlying New Mexico communities for the Public Health Foundation. He went to work for General Services Administration at Sandia Base Hospital, then the Federal Building downtown. In 1972, Mac retired as GSA Buildings Manager for the southwest area. He moved to Arizona in 1975. Mac is survived by his wife, Helen and her children: Chase Congable, Michael Congable and wife Kathy, Quill Congable and wife Judy, Stacey Marr and husband Kevin. Mac is survived by his children: Alice Vogel and husband Mike, Stuart McIntosh and wife Julie, as well as 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. There was a mutual affection between Mac and the young people he loved to instruct and encourage. Cremation has taken place in Show Low, Arizona, according to Helen and Mac's wishes. Mac also requested there be no service. In memory of Mac, his family asks that you enjoy something in nature, fix the unrepairable, invent the unimaginable, and keep dreams alive.

Sedillo -- Mrs. Senaida (Sadie) Schubert Sedillo, 90, died peacefully at home in the company of her family on September 5, 2001. Surviving her is her son, Pedro (Pete) Sedillo Jr. and wife, Christine; one daughter, Pricilla Torrez and friend, Joe Gonzales; four grandsons, John Torrez, Frank Sedillo, Joel Sedillo and Peter Sedillo III; three granddaughters, Ruby Sandoval and husband Tom, Loretta Smith and husband, Pete, Joylynn Perea and husband, Victor; 11 great-grandsons, Tommy Sandoval Jr. and wife, Beth, Martin Sedillo and wife, Rhonda, Christopher Sedillo and wife, Gerry, Jonathan Sedillo, Benjamin Sedillo BJ Sedillo, Christopher Smith, Matthew Smith, Peter Sedillo IV, John Jacob Torrez and Joshua Perea; four great-granddaughters, Veronica Perea, Amanda Torrez, Nicole Sedillo, Joanne Sandoval-Castillo and several great-great- grandchildren.
