Aragon -- Melquiades Mel S. Aragon, 87, passed away September 12, 2001. He was born in Belen, NM., and resided in Aragon, NM. Mel was preceded in death by his wife, Maria and son, Melquiades, and is survived by his wife, Severa Aragon; children, Miguel and Maria Aragon, Isabel Aragon, Eva Orona, Antonio and Mitch Aragon, Adam and Tracy Aragon, Atancia and Joe Nieto, Richard Aragon, Diego Aragon, Inez Aragon, Teresita Aragon; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Baca -- Nestora Baca, 69, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 11, 2001. She was born December 6, 1931 in Torreon, NM. Nestora and her husband Jimmy resided in Estancia, NM for many years and raised their five children there. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Estancia and later at Our Lady of Fatima in Albuquerque. Nestora was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy. She is survived by her loving children, Rose Dillard and husband, Terry of San Antonio, TX; Delores Baca of Albuquerque; Peter Baca of Washington, D.C.; Paul Baca of Albuquerque; Christy Baca-Jones and husband, Brian of Salt Lake City, UT; grandson, John Dillard; four sisters and six brothers, Monica Chavez; Manuel Chavez; Cecelia Sanchez; Juanita Chavez; Alonzo Chavez; Carmel Chavez; Pablo Chavez; Juan Chavez; Joe Chavez and Susie Perea; and a very large extended family. Mass will be celebrated Friday, 12:00 noon, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE with Father Francis X. Eggert, Celebrant. Cardin -- Robert Kenneth Cardin, age 54, a resident of Monument, CO, went to be in the presence of his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 10, 2001. Crooks -- Charles G. Crooks, Sr., born on May 20, 1915 to Carl G. and Ethel B. Cooks, passed away on September 10, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys, of the family home; sons, Charles G. Crooks, Jr. of Bloomfield, NM and Douglas R. Crooks of Albuquerque; daughter, Kathy Broaddus and husband, Tom of Elk Mound, WI; special aunt, Evelyn Kingsbury of Downers Grove, IL; many nephews and nieces; very special friends, Neal and Ellaine Branson and their children, Robby, Rhonda and Cindy. An infant son, David Benson Crooks preceded him in death. Mr. Crooks was a dreamer who had a real zest for life. He was always quick with a witty comeback. Fajardo -- Doroteo "Teo" Fajardo 88, a New Mexico native, went to join the Lord on September 8, 2001. He died peacefully at home in Turlock, California. He was born on February 6, 1913 in Puerto De Luna, N.M. Teo retired from the FAA in 1986. His first wife, Mary Fajardo preceded him in death in August of 1982. Brothers Victoriano and Jose also preceded him in death. His second wife, Dolores Fajardo of Turlock survives him. Sisters; Dolores Solano and husband, Johnny, Nora Padilla and husband, Alfonso and Celina Fajardo survive him. He is also survived by; daughter, Gloria Garcia and husband, Robert; son, Alex Fajardo and wife, Cecilia, son, Eddie Fajardo and wife, Della, son, Rudy Fajardo and wife, Barbara, all of the Albuquerque area, and son, Frederick Fajardo and Robert Daum of Vancouver, B.C. Also surviving him are; grandchildren, Eric Garcia, Marisa Huff and husband, Daniel, Rhonda Fajardo, Michelle Fajardo, Diane Fajardo, Daniel Fajardo, and Evan Fajardo and; great grandchildren, Gabriela and Abigail Huff. He is also survived by; stepdaughter, Juanita Gonzales, stepson, Ed Lucero and wife, Jan, stepson Nick Lucero and wife, Joann, all of Turlock; stepdaughter, Carmen Clemens and husband, John of Sacramento and; stepson, Ricardo Lucero of Seattle. His many step grandchildren will also miss him. Teo loved to be outdoors and working in his garden. He never lost his fondness for New Mexico green chile. He was a hardworking man and devoted father, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2001, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Salazar and Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd Street, SW. Green -- Rita Marie Hasselden Green, 78, a member of a pioneering Albuquerque family danced her way into heaven on Wednesday, September 12, 2001. She was born to J. Wallace Hesselden and Ella Josephine Hesselden on June 9, 1923 and was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George (Buddy) Hesselden, John (Jack) Hesselden, Donald Hesselden and sister, Josephine (Jody) Hesselden-Ladd all of Albuquerque, Rita married James H. Green in 1944 and they were divorced in 1970. James H. Green died in 1992. She is survived by a twin sister, Patricia Hickman of Corrales, niece Cathleen Fiedler and husband, Kurt, grandniece Gina Hickman; and brother Adrian (Mickey) Hesselden of Albuquerque, and nephew, Greg Hesselden and wife Hope; son David Green of Newbury Park, CA and wife Lois, and grandchildren, Darin and Elissa; son Chris Green and wife Julie of Richardson, TX; daughter Stephanie Levings of Grass Valley, CA and grandchildren, Ramah Henschen of Eugene, OR and Melita Levings of Grass Valley, CA; and son, Timothy Green of Corrales. Rita graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1941. She worked for many years in retail sales of woman's clothing at Carlin's in Winrock and home interiors in Albuquerque, including Mossman-Gladden Interiors, Leishman's and The Neimann Collection. Rita also owned and managed a children's clothing store in Gallup in the late 1960's. She was a long time member of the Solo Club and lived to dance. Rita passed away surrounded by her loving family at her son Timothy's home. Her family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations go to the Lovelace Hospice, who's compassion and support was greatly appreciated. Horton -- Kenneth "Ken -Kenny" Bruce Horton 1964- 2001. Kenny Horton went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2001 after a lifetime battle with liver disease. He was born in Cortez, Colorado on August 25, 1964 to Kenneth W. and Lena Bell Horton. The family moved to Los Lunas in 1966. Kenny attended the Los Lunas Schools and graduated from Los Lunas High School in 1983. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth W. Horton, his brother, Richard Davis; his sister-in-Iaw, Martha Davis; and his step-father, Jim Taylor. He is survived by his mother, Lena Bell Taylor-Sonnenberg and husband, Wally of Los Chavez NM; his brothers, Bill (Earl) Davis and his wife, Karen of Sea Tac, WA., Robbin Davis, Jim Davis and wife, Lynn, Shawn Horton and wife, Shelby; his sister, Belinda Burkes and husband, Jimmy all of Los Lunas, NM; Roger and Duane Horton and their families of Farmington, NM,; his step-brothers, David Sonnenberg and wife, Nellie, Danny Sonnenberg and wife, Julie all of Los Lunas, Dale Sonnenberg and wife, Patty of Belen; his stepsister, Paulette Sonnenberg of Los Chavez; very special friends, Michael Dawes and Connie of Bosque Farms; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Martinez -- John Martinez, 75, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. He was a member of the Catholic Church, the DAV, and he proudly served his country during W.W.II in the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Camilio and Sophia Martinez; two sisters, Aurora and Helen; and three brothers, Pat, Paul, and Benny. John is survived by his loving daughter, Virginia Lopez and her husband, Mike of Los Lunas; two sisters, Olive Padilla, of Albuquerque, and Mary Trujillo, of Denver, CO.; and one brother, Joe Martinez, of Pueblo, CO. John is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Massey -- Raymon E. Massey, 54, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Ramoncita Naranjo-Massey; daughter, Alexandria Rae Massey; stepdaughter, Erica Carmen Romero, all of Albuquerque; sister, Elaine Garrett and husband, Mike of Jessieville, AR; nephews, Joe Garrett and wife, Melissa of St. Robert, MO and Steve Garrett and wife, Nancie of Jessieville, AR; many other family members; and friends. Mr. Massey served his country in the U.S. Army with the Army Corps of Engineers, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Mayer -- Mary Alice Mayer, 69, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles A. Mayer, D.D.S., five daughters, Kathleen Mayer and husband, David Wetzel, Julie DePree and husband Mark, Jean Mayer and husband, Scott Guthrie, Elizabeth Applebee and husband, Carlton, and Mary Nell and husband, Tom Billstrand; six treasured grandchildren, Joel, Amy, and Thomas DePree, Lauren Turnley and Brian and Timmy Billstrand; brothers, Fran, Jack and Dick Linsmeier; mother, Lillian Linsmeier; and the beloved members of all of these families. In addition, Mary had a very large extended family in her true and dear friends. Mary was born May 30, 1932 in Menominee, MI. She received her nursing degree from Mt. Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee, WI in 1954 and moved to Albuquerque with her husband and two children in 1957. Mary was an avid, enthusiastic tennis player and was a member of the Tennis Club of Albuquerque for 27 years. Every life Mary touched was blessed by her presence on this earth. She loved life, her family and friends to the fullest. She showed compassion to anyone who was suffering and freely gave her beautiful smile to anyone who was in need. Mary contributed to the community throughout her life. In her most recent years, she volunteered at Project Share, she delivered for Meals on Wheels and drove for Catholic Social Services. She was a member of the Newman Center Faith Sharing group for nine years and it was her deep faith in the Catholic religion that helped her through these difficult times. The world is a better place because of Mary. Her family and friends are blessed with the memories of her kindness, generosity, compassion, courage and her beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by all. A prayer service will be held Friday, September 14, 2001, 6:00 p.m., and a funeral Mass Saturday, September 15, 2001 at 2:00 p.m., at the Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd. NE, 87106. Interment for Mary will be a private family ceremony at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mcclure -- William Scott McClure, 85, born November 16, 1915 in Detroit, MI, died Monday, September 10, 2001. He is survived by his brothers, John H. McClure of Albuquerque and Fred H. McClure of Pacifica, CA; sister-in-law, Cornelia R. McClure; sister, Mary A. McClure of Albuquerque; and nieces and nephews. Mr. McClure retired to Albuquerque in 1975 from Cleveland, OH where he lived for 47 years. He was employed in the Finance Department of the City of Cleveland Heights. Mr. McClure volunteered his services as a classroom assistant for about 15 years at Queen of Heaven School and had been a member of the parish since 1975. He was a veteran of WWII having served from 1942 until 1945 in General Patton's Headquarters and participated in the Normandy Invasion of Europe. Rosary will be recited Friday, September 14, 2001, at 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Nazorek -- Alex Nazorek was born August 7, 1948, in Millon, England. His parents are January and Gladys Nazorek. He has one sister named Chris Lustyk and one brother, Mark Nazorek. When Alex was ten years old, he and his family came on a ship to America. It took them seven days to reach the United States. When they arrived in New York, they moved to Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Chicago and attended high school there. He then served in the Vietnam War from 1966 through 1969. Years later, in 1984, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to start a new life, where he met Marilyn Salazar and married her August 23, 1986. A year later they had their first child named Sarah. After that, five years later in 1992, they moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and had their second child, named Alycia. His favorite sports were baseball, basketball and football. His favorite hobby was singing and visiting his friends in Northern New Mexico Mountains where he enjoyed nature and the outdoors. Alex Nazorek died on September 11, 2000. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. A reception will follow in the chapel.

Palmer -- Cherrie Palmer, 54, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001. She is survived by her father, John E. Palmer; brothers, Charles C. Garrett of Sugarland, TX, Michael A. Garrett and wife, Diane of Norwalk, CA and Carl D. Garrett and wife, Evelyn; granddaughter, Adrianna de Marie Jarvis; special friends, Ida Lee Jarvis, Anneke Kierstan Jarvis-Van Zelst, Rahime Benina Jarvis-Van Zelst, all of Albuquerque, Marta Gifford of Sugarland, TX, Donna Dean and Sylvia Martinez, both of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Lucille Ryder. Cherrie worked at as a paralegal for over 20 years at the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office. Price -- John Price, 54, of Placitas passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001 in Denver, CO., where he was awaiting a liver transplant. John, President of Price Distributing, Inc., of Albuquerque, NM felt great pride in having opened Albuquerque's first three bookstores,"Newsland", beginning in 1973. After selling the bookstores, John retained the New Mexico distributorship of the New York Times and, along with his wife, Susan, formed Price Distributing, Inc., which now handles all out-of -state newspapers sold in New Mexico as well as El Paso, TX., and Durango, CO. John will be dearly missed by all of his friends and business associates in Albuquerque as well as Elephant Butte, NM., where he and Susan maintained a second residence. John is survived by his wife, Susan Price of Placitas, NM; son, Jason Price; daughters, Lora Clark and Rhonda Haisler; and six grandchildren all of Albuquerque; as well as his brother, Mike Price of Elephant Butte, NM.; and his sister, Mary Sims of Mobile, AL. John had courageously fought a long battle with liver failure and was just one day away from undergoing an extraordinary living donor transplant in which be would have received a portion of healthy liver from his nephew Michael Hecksel at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver. Rael -- Jacobo "Jake" Rael, 96, a resident of Albuquerque for 18 years, previously a lifetime resident of Santa Fe, passed away on September 12, 2001. Jake was a loving, gentle man. He is survived by his daughter, Delia Oritz and husband, David of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Olivia Musgrave and husband, Tony; stepson, Mike Sisneros and wife, Jenny all of Santa Fe. Jake is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 14 years, Eulemia Rael in 1983 and brother, Tony. Jake worked for the State Highway Department in Santa Fe, retiring in the mid-1970s. He loved taking the bus daily to the Albuquerque Senior Center to socialize and play pool with his friends until his recent illness. A Rosary will be held Saturday, 4:30 p.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3blks North of Paseo Del Norte) with Deacon Bob Lewis officiating. Tinker -- Shirley Donovan Tinker, 54, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Stan Tinker of Albuquerque; daughters, Mindy Sanderson and husband, Ray and Kristy Seale and husband, Jake, all of Albuquerque; stepdaughter, Kristen Tinker; stepson, Brad Tinker; grandchildren, Ray, Kassidy and Sarah; mother, Evelyn Stanage; sister, Bonnie Stanage Simmons and husband, Gary; and brother, Bill Stanage Jr. and wife, Tiffani. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Stanage Sr. Shirley attended the University of New Mexico. She worked as an executive with Valley Welders Supply and Freight Logistics Services. Shirley was a charter member of the American Business Women's Association, a longtime member of Sertoma and also attended New Covenant Church of Albuquerque. Trujillo -- Tillie T. Trujillo, 94, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and sister was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 12, 2001, while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Trujillo was a life long resident of Alameda; a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church; and a member of the S.N.M. de M.P. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Pablo Trujillo in 1996. Mrs. Trujillo is survived by her children, Rose Sifuentes and husband, Richard, Barbara Zamora, Fred Martinez and wife, Sophie, Celso Martinez and wife, Margaret, Dolores Espalin and husband, Robert, Arthur Martinez and wife, Josie and Toby Martinez and wife, Shelia; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who loved and knew her. Funeral Services will be conducted this morning at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Casket bearers will be Vincent Zamora, John Espalin, Matthew Martinez, Toby Martinez Jr., Anthony Martinez, and Robert Jaramillo. Waynell -- Sherry Waynell Jones, 49, a resident of White Rock, NM, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ava Nell Jones in 1985; and her father, Quentin Jones in 1999. She is survived by her long time companion, Keith Yeske of White Rock, NM; two brothers, Thomas Q. Jones and his wife, Betty of Horseshoe Bend, TX and J. Blair Jones and his wife, Jeanne of Belen. She is also survived by one niece, Mrs Lora Johannsen of Albuquerque; and four nephews, David Jones of Weatherford, TX, and Stephen, Robert and David Jones of Belen. Cremation has taken place. West -- Dorothy M. West, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001. She is survived by her son, Dale R. West, Jr. of Long Beach, CA; daughters, Patricia A. Dahlgren of Las Vegas, NV and Linda C. Faire of Albuquerque; sister, Anilee Taylor of Maryland; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. West was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dale R. West, Sr., owner of Interior Shutter Supply; and grandson, Daniel West. Williams -- Kenneth Williams, 41, a resident of Albuquerque, died September 12, 2001. He is survived by his mother; Mavis Nicholson and husband, George of Albuquerque; stepbrother, Robert Nicholson of Austin, TX; stepsisters, Patty Shrinkle of Encinatas, CA, Rhonda Capps of Roswell, NM, and Katie Sanders of Albuquerque; and many other loving extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Williams in May 1981. Kenneth was a lover of books and of computers. He started his own computer business last year. Kenneth loved to cook and he enjoyed making exotic dishes for his family to try. He had a good sense of humor and was a fun loving guy.
