MARTINEZ, ANTHONY MARK Age 62, beloved father, grandfather and soul mate, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 16, 2015, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on July 19, 1952, and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM. Anthony's interests and hobbies included fishing, gardening, classic hot rods, boon docking, and especially spending time with his family, who he loved so very much. He was the proud owner and operator of Home Run Services and Landscaping for over 22 years. Anthony is survived by his loving parents, Raymond and Carmen Martinez; his best friend and soul mate, Monica Aragon; his loving daughters, Stephanie, Tanya, Natasha, and Antonette Martinez all of Bernalillo, NM; step-children, Raymond and Angelica Fasano also of Bernalillo, NM; his precious grandchildren, Autumn, Jayden, Justin, Andrew, Juliet, Amira, Liam and Hunter. Also surviving are his brothers, Raymond, Chris, and Tim Martinez; his sisters, Annette Moya and Liz Candelaria; and many other loving relatives and friends. Anthony will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. Service of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd.,NW, Albuquerque. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Leon Lopez-Muela, Tony Forney, Marc Parrillo, Eddie Salazar, Vincent Pacheco, and Jayden Pacheco. JUE, JOSEPHINE NAVAKUKU Age 93, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015. Josephine was born on February 3, 1921 in the Hopi Village of Shungopavy, Second Mesa, AZ to Lois Honwytewa and John Navakuku. She lived a long and fulfilling life and was blessed by a marriage to Gin Ah Jue for 65 years. She was a devoted mother and is survived by one daughter Frances Jue Dallas and son-in-law Bennard Dallas. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Gin Ah Jue; sisters Lavon, Bernice, and Carolyn; her baby brother. She is survived by her eldest sister, Elma; sisters: Marietta, Maryann, and Jennie; brother, Emmitt. Josephine graduated from the Albuquerque Indian School in 1940. She spent two years in Dulce, NM where she attended a nurses' training school. She returned to Arizona when she was recruited to work as a Harvey Girl by her Uncle Porter Timeche who spearheaded the construction of the Hopi House at the Grand Canyon. She worked at the historic El Tovar Hotel which still exists. She moved to Winslow, AZ in 1947 to work again as a Harvey Girl at the La Posada Hotel which has recently been restored. It was in Winslow she met her future husband Gin who operated a Chinese Restaurant and where Frances was born. In 1955 they moved to Show Low, AZ where Gin and Josephine operated the Show Low Cafe and bought the Mountain Air auto court. In 1964, she and Gin along with brother-in-law Tony and his wife Nancy purchased the Vagabond Motel and Restaurant in Socorro, NM. In 1982, Josephine and Gin bought the partnership interest and continued to operate the business until 1997, when they finally retired after more than fifty years of hard work and sacrifice. After retiring Josephine and Gin attended the First Baptist Church of Socorro until they moved to Albuquerque in 2012 to live with Frances and Bennard where they lived until their passing. Josephine was known for her phenomenal memory and attention to detail. She never forgot to call her siblings on their birthdays. She was a living historian with first-hand knowledge of events and people she knew or met. Because of her ability many family members and friends made special visits to learn more of their own history. She was lucid to the last days of her life. She loved her family and friends and will be remembered as being thoughtful, kind and generous. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2:15 p.m., Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM. GAUER, FRANKLIN M. JR. Beloved husband for over 38 years, Frank passed away on January 2, 2015. With the soul of an artist who spent his career as an engineer, Frank worked all over the US and abroad before the move to New Mexico over 31 years ago. He spent many years as a general contractor and was still practicing as an engineer until early 2014. Born August 19, 1938 to Franklin Sr. and Pearl, he was raised in Milwaukee, WI and was educated at Marquette University. A gifted musician who played marimba and vibes, Frank also wrote eloquent and touching poetry, created beautiful wood furniture, took stunning artwork photographs and was an incredible chef. His artistry was expressed in everything he did and his spirit is celebrated through all of his work and in the heart and soul of his beloved wife Mary and all who knew him. His deep commitment to people and ideas, his integrity, his generosity of spirit and his wry sense of humor accompanied by his wonderful grin will always live in people's hearts. The true legacy of Frank Gauer is found in the lives of the people he's touched over so many years. He is survived by his beloved and adoring wife Mary; son Franklin III and wife Shannon, grandchildren Britta, Nic and Tony; son James; daughter Sheryl and husband Mike, grandchildren Brooke and Shaelyn; brother James and wife Betsy, daughter Shanti. He was also a "dad" to five Shetland Sheep Dogs for over 27 years whom he showered with love and who adored him in return. VASILAKIS, ANTHONY JOSEPH (TONY) Anthony Joseph Vasilakis was born May 27, 1920, in Trinidad, Colorado. He moved to New Mexico when he was a young boy and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1935. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Government from the University of New Mexico. During World War II he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and spent three years overseas with the 428 Bombardment Squadron of Twelfth Air Force in North Africa, Corsica and Italy. On August 1, 1942, he married his childhood sweetheart, Margaret Padilla. His career was serving several New Mexico cities as City Manager-Farmington, Aztec, Las Cruces and Grants. He was named New Mexico City Manager of the year in 1974. After officially retiring from that profession in 1980 he began Veeco, a consulting firm to assist small communities, etc. In 2007 he and Margaret moved to The Atrium, a retirement community in Grand Junction, Colorado, to be nearer their children. Tony is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret; daughter Diane Wilson of Cortez, CO; and two sons, Tony Vasilakis II of Springboro, Ohio and Stephen Vasilakis of New Castle, CO. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Randy Calhoun, Kimberlei Rawson, Casey Durrstein and Emily Hisel, as well as seven great-grandchildren, Justice, Ford and Meghann Durrstein, Tyler Calhoun, Graham Rawson and Charlie and Zoe Hisel. Tony was a member of the Episcopal Church.

BACA, TONY age 56, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015. Tony is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Laura; children, Anthony Baca, Laura Baca, Louisa Baca, and Alexander Baca; his parents, Alfred and Mary O. Baca; mother-in-law, Ofelia Martinez; sister, Carol Roybal; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Ofelia Martinez and Carol Roybal. Final visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Church from 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Father John Daniel, presider.
