WEBER -- Richard B. (Dick) Weber, former Albuquerque and Belen resident, died peacefully at home in Montara, CA on January 29, 2010, at age 81. Born June 10, 1928, and raised in Waukesha, WI, Dick joined the Merchant Marine service in 1944 and served in the Pacific. In 1946 he joined the Air Force, serving in various posts in the U.S as well as in Newfoundland and Japan. Following his service time, Dick worked as a systems manager for Honeywell, IGA and Sexton. A long-time fan of the American Southwest, Dick and his wife Liz moved to the Albuquerque area after retiring in the mid-1980s from work and Midwest winters. Dick was first a patient and then a patron of the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. He and Liz spent many pleasant years in Belen until health issues took them to the San Francisco Bay area to be near family. Dick is survived by his six children, William (Laurel), Thomas (Stephanie), Paul (Mary), Jeanne, Carol (Mike) and Ellen; ten grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his sister Paula; and his extended family of friends. Dick was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth; his brother William; and his sister Patricia. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2010 at Community United Methodist Church in Half Moon Bay. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Michael J. WILLIAMS -- Lawrence "Larry" E. Williams, 94, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Melba; children, Ed Williams, and Paula Casey; granddaughter, Cherish Morton of Memphis, TN; and expected great-grandchild. Larry retired from Sandia National Labs in 1983, and was a World War II Veteran. Friends may visit Sunday, February 14, 2010, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, West Side Chapel. Services will be held Monday, February 15, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, 4700 Paradise Blvd. NW. WILSON -- Demaris "Dee" Wilson, age 94 of Albuquerque; formerly of the Los Angeles and Oxnard areas, peacefully passed away on February 6, 2010, at her home; she was surrounded by her loving family who were blessed to share in her final journey. Dee retired from the Health Care industry; where she dedicated herself to providing nutritious meals to those in need. She also volunteered with various veterans organizations throughout the years. While living in California Dee was a longstanding member of the Moose Lodge, where she served as, among other things, Senior Regent. Locally, she enjoyed her membership to the Palo Duro Senior Center, where she socialized and played bingo. Dee loved to travel; Las Vegas and Laughlin were two of her favorite places; she went every chance she could; when Dee moved to New Mexico four years ago, she found the same enjoyment in the Isleta casino. It took only two minutes of knowing her before you would fall in love with her; she leaves behind hearts filled with joy and love. Dee was considered everyone's grandma; and it was no surprise that she affectionately earned the nickname "Grandma Dee" by everyone that met her. Grandma Dee is survived by her children, Ray (Rose) Wilson, Dorothy Coverston, Donna (Bill) Genter, Richard Wilson and Debi (Jim) Espinoza, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and her sister, Esther Easton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Wilson and four brothers. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 2pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel. ANAYA -- Kathy Anaya was sent to the Lord on February 7, 2010 - born on December 20, 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents Forrest and Phyllis Harmount; and brothers Billy and Johnny Harmount. She is survived by oldest daughter Theresa Anaya; son Nicholas Anaya and youngest daughter Tara Anaya; granddaughter Adriana Hunter and grandson Devon Hunter; siblings brother and sister Daniel and Diane Harmount. Kathy was a beloved mother and grandmother and everyone will definitely miss her sarcastic humor. We ALL love you MOM and you will never be forgotten. BARTON -- Dolores B. Barton, 58, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Paul Barton of the family home; daughters, Michelle Ledford and husband Ricky of Las Vegas, NV, Julianna Martinez and fiance Tony Martinez of Albuquerque; step-sons, Sean and Casey Barton, both of Edgewood; grandchildren, Sabrina and Jake Ledford; her mother, Eloisa Baca; siblings, Ruben Baca, Arlene O'Hara and fiance Bill Sweazy, Carl Baca and fiancee Eloisa Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Rafael Baca. Dolores was retired from Smith's Food and Drug and most recently employed with Kirtland Federal Credit Union. She was deeply loved and her smile will be greatly missed. CHIADO -- Joseph John Chiado, Jr., 62, a local resident for 13 years, died at his home on Monday, February 8, 2010. He was born on March 7, 1947 in Albuquerque, NM to Joseph John Chiado, Sr. and Mary A. (Aranda) Chiado. Joe was honorably discharged in 1968 after serving in the U.S. Army. He was self-employed working in sales and as a developer. Joe adored his wife, children, family, friends, and even extended his kindness to strangers. His passion and creativity enlivened all the people around him. He told the best stories, loved to laugh and appreciated art and the beauty of nature. He lived life fully, unafraid to lay it on the line. He will always be remembered for his sincerity and pizzazz. Survivors include his wife, Judy Chiado of TorC, NM; his children, Michael Chiado and wife, Erica, of Snellville, GA, Cameron Chiado of Albuquerque, NM, Angelo Chiado and fiancee, Kristin, of Las Vegas, NV, Haymish Chiado of Las Vegas, NV and Amanda Chiado and husband, Fabio Bozzi, of Hollister, CA; his mother, Mary Chiado of Fruita, CO; his sister, Angie Jones and husband, Dave, of Fruita, CO; nine grandchildren; by numerous other family members and many close friends; and by his little dog, Monster. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph John Chiado, Sr.. Cremation will take place and a Memorial Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 1389 in Elephant Butte, NM. JORDEN -- Cindy LaVonne Jorden 51, a long time resident of San Diego, Ca. relocated back to Albuquerque to be with family, passed away Friday February 5th, 2010 to be with the Lord. She is survived by her mother Kate Cooke; her children, Elmer Cooke III, Brandon Jorden and Desiree Jorden; her brother and sisters: Robert Cooke and wife Lucia of Albuquerque, Sherwood Vickers and husband Steve of Rio Rancho, Madonna Bayham and husband Bob of Arizona, Brenda Sayles and husband Victor of Albuquerque, and Kim Long and husband Larry of Albuquerque; one grandchild Kloie; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. LUCERO -- Lucy Lucero, born May 24, 1914 to Evaristo and Luz (Baca) Lucero, passed away February 9, 2010. She was preceded in death her parents and siblings: Frances Chavez (Alfred), Sophie Sanchez (Herman), Josie Varela (Willie), Jake Lucero (Petrita) and Della Linson. She was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years, mostly at the Los Lunas Elementary Schools. She was a devoted parishioner of San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas where she was a religious Education director and teacher and lector, where the religious education center was named after her. She served as a lector at Holy Rosary Parish in Albuquerque, member of the Blue Army and supporter of the Southwest Franciscan Missions. During her teaching career she was invited to mentor and train teachers in Honduras. She with her mother and sister, Sophie, loved to travel and she shared many stories, especially of her trips to Rome, Israel and other locations special to Catholic history. She was proud of her family history, always eagerly sharing information of Lucero, Baca, Delgado and Romero family ties. Lucy will be remember for her love of church and family. While she had no children of her own all of her nieces and nephews received the benefit of her love, her desire for education and her support. She is survived by her nieces, nephews: Gene and Yvette Varela (who were her recent caregivers), Henry Chavez, Fred (Elizabeth) Chavez , Carmela Chavez, Tito (Mary) Chavez, Jamie Chavez, Juanita Baca (Deacon Rudy), Frank Chavez (Susan), Frank Chavez (Susan), Martin Varela (Francisca), Ramona Varela, Maria Varela, Billy Varela (Mildred), Theresa Varela, David Varela (Gloria), Helen Tafoya (Albert), and Elizabeth Santamaria (Jose). She is also survived by many special cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Henry Chavez, Jaime Chavez, Martin Varela, Billy Varela, Eugenio Varela and Diego Varela. LUJAN -- Herman Luis Lujan, 59, a resident of Albuquerque passed away January 27, 2010. Mr. Lujan is survived by two brothers, Edward Perez and wife Patsy, Anthony Lujan and wife Letha; two sisters, Marcella Delgado and Pedro Hernandez and Maria Candelaria. Also numerous nieces and nephews. A Special Thank You to Princeton Place Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for the caring and treatment of Herman. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund as been set up in Herman's name at Rio Grande Credit Union. Cremation has taken place and a Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 13, 2010 at San Jose Mission Duranes in Los Duranes 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW in Albuquerque at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
