WEBER -- Richard B. (Dick) Weber, former Albuquerque and Belen resident, died peacefully at home in Montara, CA on January 29, 2010, at age 81. Born June 10, 1928, and raised in Waukesha, WI, Dick joined the Merchant Marine service in 1944 and served in the Pacific. In 1946 he joined the Air Force, serving in various posts in the U.S as well as in Newfoundland and Japan. Following his service time, Dick worked as a systems manager for Honeywell, IGA and Sexton. A long-time fan of the American Southwest, Dick and his wife Liz moved to the Albuquerque area after retiring in the mid-1980s from work and Midwest winters. Dick was first a patient and then a patron of the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. He and Liz spent many pleasant years in Belen until health issues took them to the San Francisco Bay area to be near family. Dick is survived by his six children, William (Laurel), Thomas (Stephanie), Paul (Mary), Jeanne, Carol (Mike) and Ellen; ten grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his sister Paula; and his extended family of friends. Dick was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth; his brother William; and his sister Patricia. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2010 at Community United Methodist Church in Half Moon Bay. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, www.michaeljfox.org.
