MULLANE -- Marjorie Ann Mullane, 79. God must have needed a great cook, because on July 4, 2004, our beloved Marge (aka Mom, Gramma, Nan-nah, GG) passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer and was reunited with her soul mate of 46 years, Hugh J. Mullane, in God's heavenly kingdom. Marge was born on September 10, 1924 in Wichita Falls, TX to Virgil and Margaret Pettigrew. She and Hugh were long time residents of Albuquerque, having been some of the first "settlers" to build a house in the wild frontier of the northeast heights in 1956. Marge and Hugh did their best to follow God's command to be fruitful and multiply and now gaze down in joy over a family of five sons, Tim and wife Helen, Mike and wife Donna, Pat and wife Sue, Chip and wife Elaine and Mark and wife Joyce and one precious daughter, Kathy Linhoff and husband Greg, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Marge will be cherished not for what she did but for what she did not do. She did not run from adversity or quit when faced with the challenges of life, which included a husband confined to a wheel chair for 33 years. As a Christian, she not only talked the walk, but walked the talk. Her concern was always for others. As Peter was the rock upon which Jesus built his church, Marge and Hugh were the rocks upon which a vibrant and close family was built. They literally "Rock!" Marge will not be missed because her spirit lives on. She is part of each of us and together with Hugh and God will always be at our sides. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 9, 2004 at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria NE, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice Foundation, 5201 Venice NE, Ste. A and B, 87113. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
