ANDREWS -- Gay Rhodes Andrews Passed away on June 29, 2004 at the age of 58, a victim of a tragic automobile accident while on a rafting trip in Idaho. She was born in Reading, England and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gay graduated from California State University Sacramento with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and from New York University with a Masters Degree in Nursing Administration. Her 30-year career in the nursing field led to her position as Nurse Manager at Ashland Community Hospital. Prior to her joining the staff at Ashland Community Hospital, she held nursing administrative positions at the Radiation Oncology Center at Sutter Cancer Center in Sacramento, CA; Albert Einstein Hospital in New York City; and Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento. Gay had an adventurous spirit. She loved white water rafting, shopping, hiking, shopping, exploring new places, shopping, and photography. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and brought joy to all. Gay was a charter member of Riverhawks, a member of the American Cancer Society, and a supporter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Gay was a resident of the Rogue Valley for 10 years. She will be remembered for her strength, humor, and compassion. She gave great energy, laughter, and support to her family, friends, and work. She will be dearly missed by many, especially her beloved husband of 19 years, Mike Andrews; loving sons, Jeffrey Coyne of Lodi, and Callan Coyne and wife Melinda of Rancho Cordova; grand children, Amanda, Gabrielle and Justin; her mother, Jennifer Peacock of Conconully; siblings, Sally Mendoza of Guinda, Ivan Rhodes and wife Jinny of Vallejo; her nieces and nephews, Kim, Daniel, Lyn, Katie and Colin; and her much loved dog Bessie. Her sister, Lyn Rhodes, and her father, David Rhodes, of Albuquerque preceded Gay in death. Gifts of remembrance may be made in Gay's name to Ashland Community Hospital Foundation, American Rivers, or the John Kerry Campaign.

ARNOLD -- Barry A. Arnold, 48, a resident of Albuquerque for the past eight years, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mitzie Arnold of Laguna, NM; daughters, Kristie Fleming and husband, Russ of Coeburn, VA, and Stacie Abeita and husband, Marvin of Isleta, NM; son, Austin Arnold of Laguna, NM; five grandchildren and one that is expected; mother, Jeanette Arnold of Rio Rancho, NM; father, John Arnold and wife, Mildred of Fairfax, VA; sisters, Carmen Arnold of Reston, VA, and Pamela Parsons of Melbourne, FL; and five nephews. Barry was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Arnold in 1987. He is a retired US Navy Senior Chief of the submarine service. Following his retirement from the US Navy in 1996, he went to work for Intel Corporation of Rio Rancho, NM. BARKER -- Jeffrey (Jeff) Robert Barker 1972-2004. Jeff Barker, age 32, a former resident of Albuquerque, most recently living in Seattle, WA, passed away in Baring, WA, Monday, July 5, 2004, while on a base- jumping adventure. Jeff is survived by his parents, Betty and Robert Barker; his sister, Kari and her husband, Kal Wong, and their son, Ashten; his grandmother, Emma Idell Hughes, all of Dallas, TX; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins: Terry L. Hughes and son, Tyson, Doyle W. Hughes, and wife, Vicky, and their children, Cody and Eric; Johnnie and Lynne Barker and their children, Stacy and Mary Jo; Carolyn and Larry Madsen and their children, Anne, Ted, and Alan; Martin and Annette Barker and their children, Francine, Tommy John, and Madeline; and Margaret Ann Barker, from throughout the United States. Jeff's grandparents, M. Patricia and Johnnie E. Barker Sr., and W. Pete Hughes, nephew Justin Hughes, and cousin Christy Pat Barker preceded him in death. Jeff was born in Albuquerque, NM, January 27, 1972. In 1990, he graduated from Cibola High School. In 1995, he graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Jeff's first job after college was with Boeing Aircraft in Seattle. It was then he developed a love for and a desire to live in that area. The nearby mountains provided him availability for skiing and snowboarding. Desiring to travel, he worked a short time as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines, but soon returned to his preferred Seattle area to work for Quellis Financial. Jeff had still not found his career niche in life. In 2003, he took a sabbatical and traveled throughout Europe on his own. While there, he first learned to parachute and skydive. When he returned, he settled back in Seattle, and went to work for the Pro Bowling Association. A memorial service was held Thursday evening, July 8, 2004 in Seattle, following cremation. A memorial service is also being held in Albuquerque, NM, Monday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m., at the Tabernacle of Praise, 6013 Paradise Hills Boulevard. The Pastor, Reverend Jerry Johnson will officiate. Jeff was always an adventurous sort, learning and participating in varied thrill-seeking activities. Many of us remember when as a little boy, and he rode his ATV by himself from Paradise Hills to the Rio Puerco. BORGMAN -- Byron F. "Barney" Borgman, born July 1, 1919 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, completed his journey July 8, 2004. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Ferne Borgman; his sisters, Maxine Johnson and Ruth Egolf. Surviving him are his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Greg Garcia; and granddaughters, Amanda and Alexandra; son, Tim Chavez; grandchildren, Kelly Smith, Kristi Tenorio, Jim Grayson, and their parents, Norman Grayson and Myra Grayson; sister, Janice Reed and husband, Luther; brothers, Charles Borgman and wife, Sandy, Ernest Borgman and wife, Dorothy; loving niece, Dana Etscorn; nephew, Byron Reed; special great-niece, Shelbi Etscorn; and numerous other wonderful nieces and nephews. He had many enduring friends whose life he touched in countless ways. We thank Dr. Daniel B. BROWNING -- Taylor Smith Browning Jr., 62, a resident of Albuquerque, died July 9, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Frances; daughters, Judith Browning, Bryna Browning, Sonya Browning and Myra Barela and husband, Mark; three grandchildren, Alicia, Selene, and Adrian; sisters, Martha Reinhardt and husband, Ed and Mary Louise Cabral and husband, Art; brothers, John Browning and wife, Helen and Edward Valdez; four dogs, Coco, Sasha, Chaplin and Yoda; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Taylor was a sports fan who enjoyed NASCAR and football. He was a talented man who created beauty with anything he touched. He was a lover of nature and of the world around him. His infectious laugh and sense of humor will be truly missed by all those who love him and all those he loved unconditionally. CLARK -- Cora Belle "Neno" Clark, 94, a resident of Bosque Farms and a resident of the Albuquerque area for the past 48 years, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004. She is survived by her son-in-law, James L. Huber of Bosque Farms, NM; grandchildren, Sheila Seigler and her children, Adam and Daniel Demgar and Annie Roper and husband, Steve, and their children, Ashley and Mandy. She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Janice Huber on April 22, 2004. CLOHESSY -- David James "Uncle Dave" Clohessy died quietly July 6, 2004, while in residence at Albuquerque Manor, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born June 29, 1921, on Staten Island, New York, the third of nine children born to William Harold Clohessy and Helen Emma (Williams) Clohessy. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Helen (Cook) Clohessy, who passed away February 14, 1997. He enlisted in the Regular Army during World War II after completing Electrician training at the New York Trade School. He found service in the military as a Machinist with the 739 Engineer Heavy Shop Company in North Africa, Italy, France and Japan. He was Honorably Discharged December 15, 1945 with the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Philippines Liberation Ribbon. As with much of his generation, he returned home and settled down to a quiet life of work and providing sustenance. Settled in Staten Island, he was Boys Director at The Leake and Watts Children's Home in Yonkers, New York for the few years directly after World War II. Seeking employment as a machinist, he worked for Hewit Robins, a maker of foam rubber parts for pads, mattresses, cushions, and the such as their Production Foreman. When Hewit Robins changed their product line, he went to work as machinist in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for a parts manufacturer to the printing trade. When the Company moved its operations to Stamford, Connecticut, he gained work as a machinist with the S.S. White Dental Mfg. Co. S.S. White Dental Mfg. Co. moved to New Jersey, which brought him to the Delco Tool & Die Company. Delco Tool & Die was the sole provider of tool and die and line maintenance services to Proctor & Gamble's manufacturing operations. He retired as Delco Tool & Die Company Foreman after twenty-some years. He is noted to occasionally demonstrate a bit of stubbornness. But more often, he is noted to have an abounding sense of humor, a love and understanding of his fellow man, and never-ending love and care for his family and friends. He is survived by a son, David Charles Clohessy of Tahoe City, California; an older sister, Dorothy Elizabeth (Clohessy) Fox of Escondido, California; a step-niece, Dianne (Cook) Uzdawinis of Albuquerque, New Mexico: two grandchildren, David and Cami; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Max. Thus begins the time of memory. Love endures. CORDOVA -- Valentino Cordova, Educator and Tribal Leader passed away on June 13, 2004. He was born February 14, 1937 to Onesimo Cordova of Taos Pueblo and Manuelita (Romero) Cordova of Tesuque Pueblo. He is survived by his wife, Ernestina (Vigil) Cordova; daughters, Patricia Spitz (Robert) of Taos and Micaela Cordova of Albuquerque, son, John David Cordova of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Nikki Cordova, and Jason and Justin Spitz. He is also survived by three brothers, Jerry Cordova (Lorraine Edmo) of Annandale, Virginia; Joseph and James Cordova of Albuquerque, and four sisters, Beatrice Lujan (Vince) of Taos Pueblo; Victoria Sequist (Jack); Mary Billey (Oscar); and Miriam Cordova, all residing in Albuquerque; two aunts, Juanita Mirabal (Taos Pueblo) and Andreita Romero (Tesuque Pueblo); mother-in-law, Birda Vigil; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Mr. Cordova graduated from St. Catherine's High School in Santa Fe in 1956. He graduated from Manhattan College in New York in 1960. He received an MA degree in Educational Administration in 1975 from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. In 1960 he was drafted into the army. He was recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency in 1960, and his assignments took him to Peru and Bolivia, South America. In 1965 he met his wife at Taos Pueblo while working for a summer youth program. That fall he taught history at Taos High School. In 1968 he left teaching to accept an Office of Education Fellowship in Washington, DC. From 1969 until 1974 he worked for the Eight Northern Pueblos, the State Department of Education; UNM; Arizona State University; Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI). He also served as Chairman of the All Indian Pueblo Council. In 1975 he became Principal of San Felipe Day School where he remained until May of 1982. He left to accept the position of Superintendent for Education for the Northern Pueblos Agency and later transferred to the Southern Pueblos Agency in the same capacity. He retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs in June 1994. He retired after 21 years of service to return to Taos Pueblo to fulfill religious obligations. From 1995 until 2003 he worked for Taos Pueblo, first as a grant writer then as CMS Tribal administrator. He served as Lieutenant Governor of Taos Pueblo in 1997. Valentino Cordova was truly a unique individual. He was a beloved husband for over 38 years, caring father, and warm and loving individual who will be missed greatly by his family, relatives, friends, and individuals who had the opportunity to meet and work with him. His love, wisdom, and incredible sense of humor will be greatly missed. Val always had great integrity, honesty and a basic fundamental dignity about him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico at noon. The family requests in lieu of flowers that all donations be sent to People's Bank in Taos, New Mexico where a scholarship fund established in his name which will continue to benefit the youth of Taos Pueblo.

ELIAS -- Anthony Richard "Tony" Elias passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was Executive Director for fifteen years of the Southeastern New Mexico Economic Development District/ Council of Governments located in Roswell. Tony loved and served the area with great pride. He especially enjoyed his work lobbying on behalf of the five counties and twenty-one municipalities of southeastern New Mexico. Tony was born August 4, 1938 in Santa Fe, NM. He grew up in Las Vegas, NM and graduated from Las Vegas High (now Robertson High) in 1957. Tony attended the University of New Mexico, New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, as well as the University of Oklahoma Industrial Development Institute in Norman, OK. He loved going out to lunch, and was a lifelong fan of baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He served in the US Army Reserve from 1958 to 1964. Tony worked in the family business, Dick's Liquor Store, in Las Vegas as well as with Joe G. Maloof & Co. in Albuquerque. He was Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas, NM and a Community Development Specialist for the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of New Mexico. Tony served as the Director of the Property Control Division for New Mexico under Governor Jerry Apodaca. HE also worked for the Economic Development and Tourism Department, New Mexico Energy and Conservation Company, and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard "Dick" Elias; step-brother, Bill; and mother, Catherine "Kate." Tony is survived by his sister, Diana E. Schuch and her husband, Charles; as well as his nieces, "the loves of my life," Dania and Michele; along with several wonderful cousins and many dear friends throughout the state, including his buddies, George Fram, Eddie Candelaria, Jack Verhines, Joe Hayhurst, John Reid, Dub Williams, and Nilo Gonzalez; and his dedicated co-workers Beth Pappas and Dora Batista. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2004 at Ballard Funeral Home, 910 S. Main St. in Roswell, NM. At Tony's request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Mexico Chapter of the ACLU, the Daycare Program at University High School, 25 Martin (RIAC), Roswell, NM 88201; or to any local community service organization of your choice. FISHER -- Charlie "Claude" Fisher, 85, an Albuquerque resident since 1968, died Thursday, July 8, 2004. Mr. Fisher was born on January 2, 1919. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Fisher of Albuquerque; daughter, Claudie Wilson of Midland, TX; brothers, Dean Fisher and Gerald Fisher, both of Albuquerque, Billy Fisher of Rio Rancho, and Tommy Fisher of Tularosa; sisters, Dora Fisher of Albuquerque and Juanell Thompson of Ft. Sumner; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Johnson in 2000. He was a member of University Church of Christ. Mr. Fisher was a US Army Air Force veteran of WWII where he served in Africa and Italy. His hobbies included reading and traveling. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, July 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at University Church of Christ, 1701 Gold SE. GAEDE -- Sarah (Sally) Gaede, 81, passed away Friday, July 9th, 2004, into the waiting and loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Sally was born on June 21, 1923 in Burley, Idaho. She moved to Albuquerque in 1948 with her husband and children. Sally worked as a waitress for a number of years before she and her husband operated their own gas stations; an Enco and a Shamrock on Carlisle NE until 1966. In 1966 Sally and her husband bought a towing and wrecking yard business on west Central. Sally and her husband owned and operated Gaede's Shamrock and Wrecker until March of this year, at which time they sold it, and she was able to retire. In 1984 Sally and her husband bought a home and resided in Belen, NM, where they commuted to and from Albuquerque each day to their business. Sally was an expert seamstress and loved to sew. She had a passion for cooking and was always trying out new recipes on her family. Sally loved arts and crafts and had a huge heart for animals, especially the numerous dogs she had in her lifetime. Sally was preceded in death by one son, Gary Lee Gaede, and she is survived by her husband, Garry Gaede; two sons, Bill Gaede and wife, Myra of Albuquerque., H. Garry Gaede and wife, Mary of Lawton, OK.; five grandchildren, Patty Gaede of Albuquerque, Diana Lopez and husband, Chris Lopez of Albuquerque., Stephanie Gaede and Anjela Gaede, both of Lawton, OK., and Gary Lee Gaede Jr. of Texas; one great grandchild, Ashley Lopez of Albuquerque; two sisters, Genteele Baldini of Belen, NM and Berniece Turner of Salt Lake City, Utah; three brothers, Alfred Abram and Joe Abram both of Sandy, Utah, and Arland Abram of Lower Lake, CA. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has already taken place and a private family memorial is being planned. HOUK -- Merle Beatrice Houk, 86, God's faithful servant, passed away on July 8, 2004. Merle is survived by her husband of sixty years, Howard Houk, both of whom were residents of Albuquerque for over forty years. She is also survived by her daughter, Barbara Field; two granddaughters, Jessica and Olivia Field of London, England; her sister, Claire Guentz of Albuquerque; a great-nephew, Bob Hall of Albuquerque; and other relatives residing throughout the United States. She is preceded in death by her dear son, Delbert, who died in Albuquerque in 1963 at the age of 15. Merle (nee Lujan) grew up in Clayton, NM, went to the university in Portales, and worked in Santa Fe, where she met and married Howard, who practiced law there. Merle was a talented artist and an active member of St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, and was loved dearly by those who knew her. She was an example of grace, style and beauty. She died in the peace of the Lord, her life's work completed. Her funeral will take place at St. Mark's on the Mesa on Monday, July 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Placement of the cremated remains will take place at Fairview Cemetery. HOVEY-SANCHEZ -- Frances R. Hovey-Sanchez, March 27, 1928 - July 6, 2004. Frances passed away at home after a very long illness. Frances was born in Cabezon, NM, to Bernadino P. and Florinda M Hovey. She is survived by her son, Steven F. Sanchez, his wife, Mary; grandsons, Sean Sanchez, Aaron Sanchez and granddaughter, Tanya Sanchez; her other son, Michael L. Sanchez, and his son, Ramie. Frances retired after 35 years from Qwest, formerly Mountain Bell, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited on Monday the 12th of July, 2004 at 7:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Funeral will be held on Tuesday the 13th of July, 2004 at l0:00 a.m., also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed with entombment at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum. KOENIG -- Ted P. Koenig was called to Heaven on July 7, 2004. We will miss his handsome face, deep dimples and beautiful personality. He was born on February 12, 1959 in Kansas City Kansas to Eugene and Hulda Anne Koenig. He learned to weld and work electronics at age 12 when Ted and his parents started Koenig's shop on Zuni and Dakota. He graduated from El Dorado High School and went on to take classes at T.V.I. He turned the business to a metal shop where he became an awesome machinist and welder. He started metal sculpture where he won awards at the N.M. State Fair. His surviving wife and kids will continue to run the family business in his honor. Ted had a very unique and creative personality and was known for his award winning 10' tall 15' long dinosaur costume that moved and breathed fire as well as his huge abominable snowman. We will miss his Easter scavenger hunts and entertaining Christmas presents. Ted was a member of Early Bird Toastmasters, Caballos de Colores Spanish Horse Club, The New Mexico Artillery Club, and the Belen Catholic Church. Ted is survived by his wife, Dorothy Baca-Koenig; kids, Tamara; kids, Kaden, Elexa, Michelle, Crystal husband, Antonio, daughter, Maya and Jeremy. Sisters, Melissa and husband, Jim, kids, Jennifer and Andrew; Melinda and husband, Brian kids Leanne and Josh. Grandmother Josephine. Dorothy's parents Joty and Virginia; Dorothy's brothers and sisters, Ricky wife, Carolyn and kids; Tony, wife, Patsy and son; Pauline and kids; Mark and daughter; Annette, husband, John and kids; Diane, husband, Pete and kids; Greg; Roxanne, husband, Lar and kids. And many more aunts, uncles and cousins. All who were dearly loved by Ted. He was born February 27, 1915, in Abilene, TX, to James W. and Elizabeth (Nicholas) Lewis. He married Blanch Hazel Bertram, and she preceded him in death in 1997. He is survived by one son, Archie B. Lewis Jr. of Albuquerque, NM; one daughter, Faye and her husband, Marvin Hewett of El Paso, TX; one brother, Wesley and his wife, Helen Lewis; four grandchildren, Dale Lewis, Bonny Heri, Lila LaRoche, and Deine Mayhon; and six great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, Mary Sharon Lewis, one son, Ronald Dwight Lewis, four brothers, and three sisters. LINDSEY -- Steve Lindsey, 50, a resident of Cedar Crest, and a resident of the Albuquerque area for 14 years, died Friday, July 9, 2004. PETERS -- Marion Louise Peters passed away on July 3, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Ed Peters, five children, eleven grandchildren, and her brother, Mel Lee. She was born on February 24, 1936 in Syracuse, New York. Her parents were the Reverend Henry and Mrs. Jennie Lee. Her father was a Pastor in Elmira, New York. Marion studied to be a nurse. She moved to Albuquerque in the early 1970s and worked for Barry S. Dillon, CPA P.A., as an Office Manager for numerous years until she had to retire because of poor health. Marion will be cremated and buried in upstate New York. PULLEN -- Bill Allen Pullen, 64, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2004, at the Albuquerque Regional Medical Center after a recent hospitalization and long battle with cancer. Bill had moved to Albuquerque last year to be closer to his grandsons and son. He was a longtime resident of St. Charles, Missouri, before moving to Albuquerque. Bill was born April 27, 1940, in Vandalia, Illinois to Horace and Zelma Pullen. He was an electrical engineer for Rockwell Automation until his retirement in 2002. RAYMOND -- Gerald C. Raymond, 92, a long time resident of Albuquerque, was born on May 26, 1912, in Newington Ontario Canada, and died on Wednesday, July 7, 2004. He had resided in Ogdensburg, NY, for many years before moving to New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, and his daughter, Jackie Bigsby. Since retirement from the Albuquerque Transit Department in 1977, he took many road trips from coast to coast and across Canada to visit friends and relatives. Gerald will be remembered for his good cheer and lots of humor. Known as Grandpa to all the family, he will be greatly missed. He was a longtime member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Community. He is survived by two daughters; Barbara Dagon of Dayton, OH, and Judy Schneider of Albuquerque; three sons-in-law, Bill Murphy of Dayton, OH, Marion Schneider, and Rick Bigsby of Albuquerque. He also leaves grandchildren; Shawn and Darryn Murphy, Misty Frank and husband, Kevin, Gerri Beth Morgas and husband, Albert, Rick Bigsby and wife, Leann, Marlene Swanson and husband, Todd, and Everett Schneider. SHERMAN -- Linda Ann Sherman 1951-2004 Linda Ann Sherman 1951-2004 On July 8, Linda Ann Sherman went to be with Jesus, after 13 years of battling breast cancer. She had many good years and raised and schooled her daughters and blessed her husband and family and brothers and sisters in the Lord with her cheerfulness and faith, even in these difficult last months. TABET -- Dr. Stephen Tabet, MD MPH, age 42, passed away suddenly on July 6, 2004, in Seattle, Washington. Stephen was an associate professor of medicine at the University of Washington. His most recent assignment was as the senior clinical trials physician, working on testing a preventative vaccine for HIV. Stephen traveled worldwide giving many lectures in the field of infectious diseases and prevention. Stephen graduated from Belen High School in 1979. In 1991, he graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico's Medical School as a Presidential Scholar. Dr. Tabet continued with his residency at the University of Washington where he completed both the Internal Medicine Residency Program and a Masters in Public Health. He joined the faculty at the University of Washington in 1999 and recently was promoted to associate professor. Stephen was the most loving, warm, and caring son, brother, uncle, and friend. He always had a kind word, a quick smile, and time to sit and talk with people; no one was a stranger to him for very long. He was a warm human being, who possessed a sense of softness in a hard world. His compassion for people marked both his life and his professional career. Stephen's goal in life was to help others, which he did with his wonderful sense of humor and uplifting bedside manor. He had a passion for his work which he saw as helping the world's poor, forgotten and lonely. His care for patients was legendary. Stephen not only provided the bilingual support needed for caring for the many Hispanic patients of his clinics, but he always handled the most difficult cases. His colleagues considered him a mentor who was always accessible and turned to him for his insight and teaching. He had a passion for teaching medical providers. He enjoyed sharing his experiences as he mentored and educated numerous health professionals throughout the world. Stephen's awards and deeds are numerous: videos, electronic publications, original research articles and chapters on the care of HIV and Hepatitis infected persons; He served as the Chair of the US Department of Health and Human Services HIV/AIDS Bureau Treatment and Access to Care Committee; Consultant to the Southern Center for Human Rights; Medical editor HIV and Hepatitis Education prison project, and Editor and Educator Northwest AIDS Education Center. Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Dora Tabet, his paternal grandparents, Frank and Emilia Tabet, and his maternal grandparents, Adan and Elsie Romero. Stephen is survived by his loving family: father, Frank Tabet Jr. of Belen; brothers, Frank P. Tabet of Belen, Dr. Adam J. Tabet MD and wife, Connie of Seattle, WA; sisters, Anna Chavez and husband, Sammy of Jarales, Janet Tabet-Romero and husband, Frank of Belen, and Estella Tabet; and mother, Mary Agnes Tabet of Los Lunas. VANNEST -- Glen E. Vannest. A memorial celebration for Glen E.
