SANCHEZ -- Mr. Guadalupe ( Lupe ) Sanchez, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 4, 2004. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mrs. Ologia Sanchez. He is also survived by one son, Harry Sanchez; grandchildren, Logie, Maria, Crissy, Cipy Jr., Vanessa, Juan Jr., Fernando, Augustine, Vienza, Matthew, Paul, Bernardo, and Mario; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cristobal Sanchez and Elias Sanchez; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his parents, Theodosio A.and Luz Sanchez; his children, Mary Jane Gallegos, Diana Gutierrez, and JR. Sanchez; two grandchildren, Martin and Rosalea. Mr. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War I I. A visitation for Mr. Sanchez will be Saturday afternoon, August 7, 2004 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Christopher Hanson. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery with Military Honors. URBAN -- Martin S. Urban, Sr., 70, of Sile, New Mexico, was called home by our heavenly Father on August 3, 2004, with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Flora Urban; children, Marlin Johnston, Lorraine Urban, Elizabeth Urban, Rita and Curtis Urban, Martin Jr. and Sandra Urban, Victoria Urban and Wayne Dominguez, Loretta Urban and Max Flores, and David and Lorrieann Urban; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; his brother, Manuel Urban and sister-in-law, Rosie; his sister, Josie and brother-in-law, Amundo Quintanilla; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp., served in the Korean War, and was honorably discharged. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who devoted his life to his family. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. His faith was glorious and his prayers powerful. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Nathan Minter, Aaron Urban, Ernest Urban, Christopher McCants, Daniel Lerma, and Marty Juliana. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Urban, Wayne Dominguez, Walter Johnston, Michael Segura, Joe Gallegos and Max Flores. GALLEGOS -- Jesse Ray Gallegos, 17, passed away Friday, July 30, 2004. Survivors include his parents, Larry Gallegos and wife, Patricia; sons, Larry Jr. and Ronnie Gallegos; and many other relatives and friends. Rosary will be Tuesday, August 4, 2004 at The Church, 3021 Ouray NW (Los Santos) at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at Legacy Christian Church, 7201 Central NW, Wednesday, August 4th at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Eric Lopez, William Clifton, Michael Patterson, C.J. SALAZ -- Romelia Salaz, age 78, beloved and devoted wife, daughter, and sister, was called home by our Heavenly Father, on Satuarday, July 31, 2004, while surrounded by her loving family. Romelia was born on April 5, 1926 in Capulin, NM; to the late Bonifacio and Juanita Gonzalez; She was preceded in death by her husband, Mariano; a son, Ramon; and two brothers, Ramon and Juan Gonzalez. Romelia is survived by her loving children, Merejildo and wife, Theresa of Cuba, Pres and wife, Bertha of Albuquerque, Jake and wife, Sophie of Cuba, Bonnie Garcia and husband, LeRoy of Corpus Christi, TX, MaryJane Salaz of Albuquerque, Lucy Gallegos and husband, Lawrence of Albuquerque, Mariano, Jr. and wife, Georgia of Cuba, Jean Salaz Romero and husband, Larry of Albuquerque, and Mike Salaz also of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her sister, Olympia Herrera of Espanola, NM; brother, Celustriano and wife, Amada of Gallina, NM; 27 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; and other beloved family members and friends. Romelia will be greatly missed by her loving family. Romelia will lie in state Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM; where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. MORA -- Bertha (Bert) Mora, 52, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004 after 5 years of battling ALS (Lou Gerhig's disease). She was preceded in death by her father, Nasario Maldonado; sister, Joyce Delgado; and grandson, Juan Amores. She is survived by her mother, Rachel Maldonado; her children: Carolyn (Twinkles) Ortega and husband, Milton, Pamela Gonzalez and husband, Mario, Tina Gallegos and fiancee, Ignacio Juarez, Michael Mora and wife, Berenice; grandchildren: Roberta Mora, Joshua Moralez, Natasha Mora, Lori Moralez, Larry Moralez, Tiana Yarbrough, Jaquelyn Mora, Amairani Salazar, Micayla Mora, Gabriel Gonzalez, Bertha Juarez, Destiny Juarez, Myranda Mora and Anthony Gonzalez; nine sisters, Elvira Soto and husband, Javier, Anabel Sanchez, Lorraine Marquez and husband, Ernest, Joaquin (husband of Joyce Delgado), Charlotte Griego, Angela Marquez and husband, Julian, Bernice Gutierrez, Bettie Jean Garcia and husband, Leroy, Merlinda Aragon and husband, Nick; three brothers, Nasario Maldonado, Jr. and Susan Romero, Ere Maldonado and wife, Alberta, Mike Maldonado and wife, Alice; 45 nieces and nephews; 26 grandnieces and grandnephews; best friend, Patsy Aragon; friend Mario Caballero; and caregiver Albertina "Betty" Escobar. MAESTAS -- Amelia Elisa Maestas, age 93, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. Amelia was born September 16, 1910 in New Mexico to Fidel and Cleofitas Madrid Gallegos. Amelia was a very warm, loving and giving person who loved life and her family around her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Juan P. Maestas; one son, Paul Maestas; two grandsons, Tim Torres and Stan Torres.
