BURROUGHS -- Lydia Ange Burroughs, 69, of Tijeras, NM, the youngest daughter of Lyman and Helen Ange, passed away at her home on Monday, July 26, 2004, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, Ed Burroughs of Tijeras; two sons, Michael Henderson and wife, Kay of Tijeras, and Gary Henderson and wife, Ann of Albuquerque; plus two grandchildren, Matthew Henderson and Julie Henderson, of Albuquerque. Also surviving are two sisters, Margaret Wolf of McCall, ID, and Martha Zutavern of Abilene, KS; an aunt, Betty Jo Manhart of Colorado Springs, CO; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Lydia was a friend to many and very close to all her family. She had a profound effect on the lives of everyone she knew. And it showed in all her life's interests. She was born in Albuquerque in 1935, four years after her parents moved their family from Orlando, FL. Mrs. Burroughs graduated from Albuquerque High School with the class of 1953, and later from Western School for Private Secretaries. She was employed by the F.B.I. and later assisted her late father in the operation of Ange Builders Supply. A Memorial Service will take place at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 3, 2004. JOURDAN -- William Arthur, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 30, 2004 in Hobbs, NM. Bill was born in Socorro, NM on Oct. 22, 1922. His parents were John Jourdan and Harriet Bauer. Bill was the youngest of four children: Frank Jourdan, deceased; Bonnie Baker, deceased; and Ruth Tribby of Chicago, IL. Bill attended Albuquerque HS and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1944 with a degree in civil engineering. While at UNM, Bill was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and a quarterback for the Lobos, having played in the 1943 Sun Bowl tournament. At UNM, he met his future wife, Ellen Ann Chisholm. After serving in the US Navy, Bill married Ann on Sept. 8, 1948 in Pampa, TX. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2001. As a civil engineer with El Paso Natural Gas, the family lived in Kermit and El Paso, TX, and Farmington, NM before settling in Hobbs, NM, where Bill founded W.A. Jourdan Construction, Chaparral Builders, Security Fence and later acquired Dalco, Inc. Bill and his son, John have both served as president of AGC, Associated General Contractors of NM. Bill and Ann lived in Hobbs for over 50 years, where they raised their seven children and were active members of St. Helena Catholic Church. Bill was also a member of Rotary Club. Bill is survived by his seven children and their families-DeLayo; Jean Ann and Leonard, son, David of Albuquerque and daughter, Francesca and her husband, Chris Padjen of Cincinnati, Ohio. DeWalt; Mary and Bill, son, Evan of Waco. Sons, Wylie, USAF, of Hurburt Field, Florida and Drew, USN, of Charleston, SC. Heiman; Patty and David of Albuquerque, daughter, Shannon and her four children of Dallas and son, Todd of San Antonio, TX. Walthall; Nance and Michael of Albuquerque, Algermissen; Jane and Col. Robert, US Army and son, Andrew of Maxwell AFB. Jourdan; John and Mary and children William, Maria and Jane of Hobbs. Beaumont; Eileen and Bill and their sons, Will, Russell and Jourdan of Albuquerque. Bill had recently returned from an extended in vacation in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where he was joined by most of his family. On numerous occasions he commented, "I'm the luckiest man alive! Just look at my family." He always believed he lived "la vida llena". His children will forever remember their father as a man of unyielding character, generosity, deep faith, dedication, wisdom, compassion and concern for his fellow man. He worked hard every day of his life and he never met a stranger. Bill loved God, his family and his country above all else. A rosary will be held on Monday, August 2 at 6 p.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church and Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 3 at St. Helena Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the St. Helena Church Building Fund, 100 East Bender Boulevard, Hobbs, New Mexico 88240.

MCLANE -- Irving A. McLane "Mac", 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Friday, July 30, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Erolene McLane; sons, James McLane and Victor McLane and wife, Theresa, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brittany McLane, Michelle Scott and husband, Jeff, James Steven McLane and Jessica Chavez and husband, Joseph; great-grandchildren, Erika Scott, Nicholas Scott and Jessika Scott; and sister, Gwen Ingram of Quitman, TX. Mac was a military veteran having served in the Navy and was discharged in January 1946. He was a member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association, Inc. (QCWA) for 55 years and served as secretary and treasurer for 15 years and was also a member of the Albuquerque Amateur Radio Club. Mac was a volunteer and arrangement coordinator for the Billy Graham Teleconferencing Center for several years. He was also a member of Bible Study Fellowship for six years. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Del Norte Baptist Church, 5800 Montgomery NE, with Pastor Robert Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. MILLER -- Alice E. Miller, 82, a resident of Albuquerque for 10 years, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2004. She is survived by her children, Caryl Miller and husband, Wayne J. Pouppirt, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, David R. Miller of Albuquerque, Roberta Baca and husband, Jim of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Adam Valentiner and wife, Amy of Las Vegas, NV, Justin Baca of Washington D.C., and Noelle Baca of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. R. Miller. Alice graduated from high school in Oakland, CA and received her bachelor's degree in business from Marymount College in Virginia. She was known as an excellent costumer and seamstress. She was a resident of La Vida Llena for the past 10 years. MONNIN -- MSgt. Steven Anthony Monnin died suddenly on Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Spokane, WA where he was stationed in the USAF at Fairchild, AFB. Steven was a loving husband and father who is survived by his wife of 16 years, Elizabeth; three sons, Anthony, Andrew, and Nicholas; and daughter, Christiana, all of Spokane, WA; parents, Anthony and Alice Monnin of Albuquerque; brother, Gregory Monnin of Albuquerque; sisters, Diana Moya and husband, John of El Paso, TX, Linda Moriarity and husband, Corey of Great Falls, MT, and Laura Nichols and husband, Tor of Las Cruces; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Claire Rufe of Albuquerque. Steven was born on March 18, 1969 in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1987 and joined the Air Force in September of that year. He also attended College in Wyoming and Spokane, and was one class away from receiving his associated degree in Electrical Technology. Steven was a member of the Catholic Church and was active as a scout leader in the Boy Scouts. He volunteered as a mentor with the Big Brother/Big Sister program and participated in Habitat for Humanity. He also coached several little league teams throughout the years. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, August 3, 2004, 8:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church with funeral mass following at 8:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., with full military honors. OTERO -- Dolores G. Otero, known to many as "Grandma Dee", passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at her home at the Village of Alameda. She was 99 years old. Dolores was born to Rosendo and Fidelia Trujillo Gonzales on April 12, 1905, in Wagon Mound, New Mexico. She was raised in Mora, New Mexico. At the age of 12, her family moved to Albuquerque. She attended Sisters of Loretto high school in Bernalillo, NM. Dolores worked as a credit associate for Montgomery Wards, and Sears and Roebuck. She retired after 25 years of service and spent the majority of her retirement years caring for her grandchildren and family. Dolores was a devout catholic and taught all of us true spirituality and the power of prayer. She was actively involved in the Women's Auxiliary of St. Charles Borromeo Church for many years. She was a master crochet artist and won many awards for her work. She is survived by her one daughter, Barbara (Silva) Sanchez and husband, Ed, of Albuquerque; one son, Tony Otero and wife, Gail, of Hollywood, Florida; grandchildren, Jamie Silva Steele and husband, Ernie; Jim (Tony) Silva and wife, Angela; John Silva and wife, Denise; Joe Silva and wife, Chela, Michelle Otero, Jeannie Otero, Briahna Otero, Mikayla Otero and Keith Otero; nine great-grandchildren; nieces nephews and many friends from the Village of Alameda where she spent her last years of her life. Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, Fred V. Otero, and also all her six siblings. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. RIDLING -- Dorothy J. Ridling, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, died on Saturday, July 31, 2004. She is survived by her son, John Ridling of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren, Lori Oden of Oklahoma City, OK, and John Ridling II, of Anchorage, AK; great- grandchildren, Hannah Oden and John Ridling III. Dorothy had a long career as a registered nurse. After retirement, she loved to travel. She was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her. SALAZ -- Romelia Salaz, age 78, beloved and devoted wife, daughter, and sister, was called home by our Heavenly Father, on Satuarday, July 31, 2004, while surrounded by her loving family. Romelia was born on April 5, 1926 in Capulin, NM; to the late Bonifacio and Juanita Gonzalez; She was preceded in death by her husband, Mariano; a son, Ramon; and two brothers, Ramon and Juan Gonzalez. Romelia is survived by her loving children, Merejildo and wife, Theresa of Cuba, Pres and wife, Bertha of Albuquerque, Jake and wife, Sophie of Cuba, Bonnie Garcia and husband, LeRoy of Corpus Christi, TX, MaryJane Salaz of Albuquerque, Lucy Gallegos and husband, Lawrence of Albuquerque, Mariano, Jr. and wife, Georgia of Cuba, Jean Salaz Romero and husband, Larry of Albuquerque, and Mike Salaz also of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her sister, Olympia Herrera of Espanola, NM; brother, Celustriano and wife, Amada of Gallina, NM; 27 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; and other beloved family members and friends. Romelia will be greatly missed by her loving family. Romelia will lie in state Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM; where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Salaz, Brian Salaz, Filemon Salaz, Phillip Salaz, Joe Gallegos, Joshua Salaz, Genaro Garcia, and Mariano Salaz, Jr., II. SCHULTZ -- Carl L. Schultz, 76, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Schultz; son, Eric Schultz; grandson, Zachary Schultz and his mother, Lisa Schultz. He was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and the University of New Mexico. Carl served his country in the Air Force for 4 years. He was a retired school teacher from the Albuquerque Public Schools and was president of ACTA - Teachers union. He moved here from Chicago in 1945. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family and his family will miss him dearly. Services will take place at Chester T.
