SMITH -- WAYNE B. 1919-2011 Age 93, a former resident of Belen, NM, for 40 years, passed away in Farmington, NM, on Saturday, July 16, after a short illness. Wayne retired from the Santa Fe Railway after 37 years of outstanding service. He was a 50 year member of the Belen Masonic Lodge and a long-time Ballut Abyad Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith and his brother, Jimmy Smith. Wayne is survived by his widow, Velma Smith; three daughters, Marilyn Chavez, Shirley Beasley and her husband, Robert and Linda Rippee; one son, Gary Smith; sister, Roberta Duff of Hobart, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 20, at 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Boyd Morerod of the Los Chavez Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Thomas, Stefan Mills, Derick Garcia, Chek Rippee and Tyrel Gast. COPELAND -- BARBARA EDWARDS Age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2011. Barbara was raised in Chicago and moved to Albuquerque in 1957. She raised her two daughters and one son and worked in banking for almost 30 years. She is survived by husband, A.E. (Al) Copeland, who remains in the family home where he receives his care. Also surviving her are daughters, Barbara Baker (John) and Carol Edwards; brother, Larry Winters (Eileen); sister, Florence Winters; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Debbie Chambless (Jim); step-son, Gary Copeland; one step-grandson; and two daughters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her son, William Edwards III, on November 4, 2010 at age 49 and most of his organs were suitable for transplant. We would encourage people to signup to be organ donors. Barbara had been receiving care since Mother's Day in the Presbyterian Hospice Respite Unit and in her daughter Barbara's home. We would like to thank the loving staff members with Presbyterian Hospice and Respite Unit at Kaseman Hospital, especially Janet Morse, Patsy Ortiz, Brenda Sandberg, Nancy Hostetler and Daisy. We would like to thank the loving caregivers with Home Care Assistance, Susan Bruketta, Cynthia Garcia, Raquel Harrison, Sandra Warren, Phyllis Vigil and Kathy Brown. GARCIA -- TOM C. Age 78, of Albuquerque joined our Lord on July 16, 2011 surrounded by close family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jean, and his children; Michael (Helen), Tom (Molly) Jim, John (Monica), Steve, Sally (John) and Cyndi (David). Tom was blessed with ten grandchildren: Jennifer, Lisa, Brandon, Jessy,0 Tarah, Jacob, Sterling, Thomas, Paris, and David, and two great-grandchildren: McKenna and Alex. He is also survived by four sisters: Andrea, Lala, Eileen, Celia and husband John. Friends and family may visit French Mortuary for a viewing on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 5-7 pm. ARCHULETA -- PAUL F. Age 45, a resident of Albuquerque, passed way on July 10, 2011. Paul is survived by his mother, Lily Archuleta; his sister, Valerie Saavedra and David (Sparky) Austin; his brother, Danny Archuleta; his life partner, David Epstein; nieces and nephews, Alannah, Dana, Danae, and Michael; special aunt, Mary F. Archuleta; special uncle, Steve R. Archuleta; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Pete Archuleta. Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2011 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. MONTOYA -- RICARDO A. "DICKIE" Age 74, a native of Santa Fe and resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, July 11, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father, Dick Montoya; mother, Fidelia Montoya of Santa Fe, NM; and brother, Andrew Montoya of Arroyo Seco. He is survived by his wife and friend, Rebecca Montoya; and sons, Ricardi Montoya (23) and Erik Montoya(21), of Albuquerque; brothers, Phillip T. Montoya and wife, Wendy, of Santa Fe, Pete Montoya and wife, Mary of Rio Rancho, Robert Montoya and wife, Franchesca of Tijeras; sisters, Mary Jane Lucero and husband, Phil of Espanola, Dolores Peguero and husband, Robert (who Rick loved like a brother) of La Mirada, CA, Beatrice Garcia and husband, Toby of Corrales, and Patricia Rane and husband, Ivan of Rio Rancho; and numerous nephews, nieces, and grand-nieces. Rick was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and New Mexico State University. He was an electrical engineer and with his brothers owned electrical contracting companies; Dick Montoya and Sons, and Montoya Brothers Electrical Company, with over 80 years in business. He was also a member of the New Mexico State House of representatives in late 1970's. Rick was known for his quick wit and jokes and was loved by all his family. His faith, family and friends meant everything to him. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to meet him. A Celebration of Life was held Wednesday, July 13, 2011.

C DE BACA -- JOSE ANSELMO Born in Bernalillo, NM on October 15, 1927, passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 13, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gabrielle C de Baca. He is survived by his sister, Marcella Garcia; daughter, Kathy and her husband, Steve Garcia, daughter, Becky and husband, David Gonzales; granddaugher, Desiree and husband, Johnny Harwood; great-granddaugher, Hope; grandsons, Javier, Marcos and Andres Gonzales. Anselmo retired from Kirtland Air Force Base after 32 years. He was a faithful volunter with the Optimist Club at Lobo Football and Basketball games for more than 20 years. He served in the Air Force for 4 years. Services will be held at Heaven Bound Ministries, 4311 12th St NW on Saturday, July 16th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial. ESPINOSA -- LIBBY M. Age 84, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011. Mrs. Espinosa is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Jose Espinosa; daughter, Pauline Raia and husband, Carmine; son, Richard Espinosa and wife, Lou Ann; sisters, Elsie Padilla, Rose Garcia and husband, David, Mellie Lovato, Dora Apodaca, and Albina Baca; grandchildren; Chuck, Matt, Tim, Dawn, Keith, Marsha, Eve, Carrie, and Mike; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Julia, Mattie, Isabella, Sammy, Nia, Jake, Justin, and Joshua; brothers-in-law, Andres Espinosa and Lupe Espinosa; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Espinosa was preceded in death by her parents, Urbano and Trinidad Baca and brother, Chano Molina. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. Final visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Church, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. CLARKE -- TRACI ANN 52, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Devyn Scovill; step-daughter, Samantha Herbst; granddaughter, Isabele Martinez; mama, Nancy Clarke; brother, Steven L. Clarke and wife, Sandy; sisters, Jeri Garcia and husband, Herman and Kelly Clarke and partner, Lucy Castaneda; nieces and nephews, Patrick Clarke and wife, Lori, Joeli Kilgore and husband, Joe, Matthew Clarke, Samantha Jojola, Saree Jojola, and Emilia Garcia; numerous grand-nieces, extended family members, friends and her dear doggie, Lucy. Traci will always be remembered for her kind and loving heart. She was very nurturing and caring toward everything and everyone, she was known for her sense of humor and great laugh. Above all her greatest love and joy was her granddaughter, Isabele. Most recently she was working toward a nursing degree at ITT Technical Institute. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Per her wishes a cremation will take place. A celebration of Traci's life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel. A private family interment will take place. GARCIA -- SIFREDO MARCOS Age 73, a lifelong resident of Sandia Park and Albuquerque, died Sunday, July 10, 2011. He is survived by his son, Christopher Garcia of Albuquerque and two grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Garcia and wife, Isabel, Jose Magdaleno Garcia and wife, Priscilla, Herman Garcia and wife, Lorraine, brother, Edisteo Garcia and brother-in-law, Ben Baldwin; along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by son, Michael Garcia; brothers and sisters, Beatrice Garcia, Bobbie Baldwin, Nancy Garcia, Solomon Garcia and Cristobal Garcia. Mr. Garcia was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church in Sandia Park, New Mexico and worked at Smith's grocery store for many years. He was also a long-time real estate broker for his company Cedar Crest Realty. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011, at French, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, with Magdaleno Garcia reciting.
