ASHLEY -- JACK D. Age 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 surrounded by loving family and friends. Jack is survived by two sons, Rodney Ashley and Curtis Ashley; and one daughter, Debra Beaudreau; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Leona Jean. Jack is once again with the love of his life in the presence of the Lord. Jack was a loving and dedicated husband and father and will be greatly missed by all. ATKINSON -- MICHAEL VINCENT Age 48, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, passed away suddenly July 11, 2011. He is survived by his spouse of 28 years, Jody; son, Jerrod, and wife, Amy of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter, Rashawn of Albuquerque; and Tyler Parreco of Fort Collins, Colorado, who he loved as a son. Mike's mother, Connie; and his in-laws, Jerry and Norma Hall, live in Albuquerque. Mike's brother, Dan, lives in Parker, Colorado, and his sister, Christine and husband, Jeff Foss live in Albuquerque. Mike was blessed with one nephew, eight nieces, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Mike's father, Paul, preceded him in death in 2010. Mike grew up primarily in the Chelwood Foursquare Church, Albuquerque, later becoming Executive Pastor of The Journey Fellowship. In 1982 Mike began his fulfilling career with Southwest Airlines. While he was certainly a loving, doting, responsible husband and father, at heart he was a genuine "Jeremiah Johnson." He loved hunting, fishing--anything done outdoors in the woods. Services will be held Friday, July 15, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at East Gate Church, 12120 Copper Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87123, with Pastor Derek Witt of The Journey Fellowship officiating. BROWN -- CURTIS EUGENE Jr. "CHIP" Was born on February 1, 1962, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, and following a short illness, departed this life on Monday, July 11, 2011, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 49. Chip, the son of Curtis Eugene Brown, Sr., and Gayle (Elliott) McSpadden, was a resident of Meeker. He graduated from Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico with the class of 1980. Chip moved from New Mexico to Meeker in 2000 and worked at Wolverine in Shawnee. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He especially loved all his family. His father, sister, and maternal and paternal grandparents preceded Chip in death. Survivors include, mother and step-father, Gayle and Corry B. McSpadden of Meeker; step-brother, Corry Bryan McSpadden and his wife, Sarah, of Pearland, TX; step-sister, Marlo Ellen Richey and her husband, Casey, of Council Bluff, IA; cousin, Telisa Gray of Tucumcari, NM; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, with Rev. Donnie Knight officiating. C DE BACA -- JOSE ANSELMO Born in Bernalillo, NM on October 15, 1927, passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 13, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gabrielle C de Baca. He is survived by his sister, Marcella Garcia; daughter, Kathy and her husband, Steve Garcia, daughter, Becky and husband, David Gonzales; granddaugher, Desiree and husband, Johnny Harwood; great-granddaugher, Hope; grandsons, Javier, Marcos and Andres Gonzales. Anselmo retired from Kirtland Air Force Base after 32 years. He was a faithful volunter with the Optimist Club at Lobo Football and Basketball games for more than 20 years. He served in the Air Force for 4 years. Services will be held at Heaven Bound Ministries, 4311 12th St NW on Saturday, July 16th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial. CLARKE -- TRACI ANN 52, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Devyn Scovill; step-daughter, Samantha Herbst; granddaughter, Isabele Martinez; mama, Nancy Clarke; brother, Steven L. Clarke and wife, Sandy; sisters, Jeri Garcia and husband, Herman and Kelly Clarke and partner, Lucy Castaneda; nieces and nephews, Patrick Clarke and wife, Lori, Joeli Kilgore and husband, Joe, Matthew Clarke, Samantha Jojola, Saree Jojola, and Emilia Garcia; numerous grand-nieces, extended family members, friends and her dear doggie, Lucy. Traci will always be remembered for her kind and loving heart. She was very nurturing and caring toward everything and everyone, she was known for her sense of humor and great laugh. Above all her greatest love and joy was her granddaughter, Isabele. Most recently she was working toward a nursing degree at ITT Technical Institute. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Per her wishes a cremation will take place. FREDERICK -- EARL E. A long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away July 8, 2011 of cancer. He was born Dec 19, 1931 in Greenwood NE. He is survived by his wife, Sharlene Frederick; son, David Frederick and his wife, Stephanie of Albuquerque; daughter, Lori Curtwright and her husband, Tom of Lincoln NE; two granddaughters, Taylor Frederick and Drew Curtwright; step-daughter, Michele Bates and her husband, Dee Don of Mayhill; and step-son, Michael McMinn of Denver CO. He was a former member of the US Navy and founded Construction Support Equipment. At his request, a cremation and private disposition will take place, and in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Shriners.

GARCIA -- SIFREDO MARCOS Age 73, a lifelong resident of Sandia Park and Albuquerque, died Sunday, July 10, 2011. He is survived by his son, Christopher Garcia of Albuquerque and two grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Garcia and wife, Isabel, Jose Magdaleno Garcia and wife, Priscilla, Herman Garcia and wife, Lorraine, brother, Edisteo Garcia and brother-in-law, Ben Baldwin; along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by son, Michael Garcia; brothers and sisters, Beatrice Garcia, Bobbie Baldwin, Nancy Garcia, Solomon Garcia and Cristobal Garcia. Mr. Garcia was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church in Sandia Park, New Mexico and worked at Smith's grocery store for many years. He was also a long-time real estate broker for his company Cedar Crest Realty. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011, at French, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, with Magdaleno Garcia reciting. GUEST -- JOHN D. February 17, 1917 - July 10, 2011 John was born in Cole, OK, on February 17, 1917, and during the Depression and Dust Bowl days moved with his family from Cole to west Texas and the Estancia Valley in New Mexico. The family eventually settled in Albuquerque where John graduated from St. Mary's High School and then attended Loyola of the South in New Orleans, LA on a football scholarship. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps as a flight instructor and pilot. He and Sophie Bubany were married in Gallup, NM in 1943. After the war, John pursued his love of flying as a pilot with United Airlines. He and Sophie raised their six children in Gallup where he served as President of the Merchants Bank / Sunwest Bank for over 25 years. He was an active Rotarian and promoted New Mexico through his service with the New Mexico Amigos. After retiring John and Sophie divided their time between Wickenburg and Pinetop, AZ before moving back to Albuquerque in 2004. John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sophie; children, Michael Guest (Sandy), Phyllis Bachhuber (Fred), Ellen Guest, Regina Guest-Rupert (Mark), Christopher Guest (Suzanne), Marigail Littlefield; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Teresa Sei, Rita Curran (Johnny), and Regina Moran. He was preceded in death by brother, Patrick F. Guest, and sister, Mary O. Bachechi. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011, at 10:00 a. m. followed by celebration of the Mass at 10:30 a.m., at Aquinas Newman Center on UNM's campus, 1815 Las Lomas NE, Albuquerque, NM. HUDSON -- GEORGE H. Age 92, MSGT USAF (RET) a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died Saturday, July 9, 2011. He is survived by his son, Paul Hudson and wife, Cheryl Thompson; daughter-in-law, Mae Hudson, all of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Tara, Carrie, and Heather; three great-grandchildren; Eli, Ryan, and Thomas; and companion and friend, Frances Robertson. He is preceded in death by his wife Christeen, and son George Leon Hudson. Mr. Hudson started his career in the US Army and transitioned to the Army Air Corps that later became the US Air Force. He is also a life member of Masonic Lodge 68, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion. He was long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Hudson was a generous, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. LEONARD -- NANCY LOU HAMILTON October 29, 1930 - July 13, 2011 Nancy Lou Hamilton Leonard, 80, passed away Wednesday morning, July 13, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Edward Leonard; sons, Scott and wife, Christina, and Alex and wife, Deborah. She delighted in the four grandchildren who also adored her: Scott, John, A.J. and Courtenay. Born on October 29, 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI, Nancy was a 6th generation descendant of Alexander Hamilton. She attended Hillsdale College, where she pledged Chi Omega Sorority. While teaching elementary school in Denver, she met her future husband, Edward. They were married in 1959. The Leonards moved to Albuquerque shortly thereafter, and Nancy continued her career with Albuquerque Public Schools for 24 more years before retiring in 1985. Nancy was very active in the First Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School, acted as Deacon, and participated in the Discipleship Prayer Group and Circles of Concern. In later years, she and Edward volunteered at the thrift shop at Central United Methodist Church. Nancy and Ed fostered close knit and loving family ties. All the children and grandchildren gathered each week for a family dinner and celebrated life's milestones together. She will be sorely missed. LINN -- LAURA E. MISKELL Was born March 9, 1970 in El Paso, Texas. She passed away Saturday, July 9, 2001 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 41. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Laura will be remembered as a very loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She was a Special Education Teacher. Laura was preceded in death by her father, Donald Atwood. She is survived by her husband, Roy Linn; daughter, Emma; son, Bryant Ray; step-son, Nick; her parents, Troy and Ida Lands; her brothers, Don Atwood and Greg Lands; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. WILLIAMS -- GRACE W. Died July 4, 2011 at her home in Albuquerque, NM. She was the former Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico from 1975-1993. Grace was born in 1921 in Oklahoma. She moved to Albuquerque, NM, in 1952 with her husband, Charles, and soon became an active member in various community and political organizations including The League of Woman Voters, The Democratic Party of New Mexico, The American Red Cross and the New Mexico Civil Liberties Union. In 1972, Grace went back to finish her education and received a Bachelor degree of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Her many friends and relatives will always remember Grace for her strength, courage and optimism. A Memorial Service will be announces to friends and family.
