Armijo -- Mrs. Celia (Maria) G. Armijo, 97, a resident of Albuquerque born May 15, 1904 in Santa Rosa, N.M. (Los Tanos), passed away peacefully in her home in the arms of her loving family on April 29, 2002. Mrs. Armijo is preceded in death by her son, Marshall Armijo. Mrs. Armijo is the beloved wife of 78 years to Joe A. Armijo. She is also survived by her son, Joe O. Armijo and wife, MaryLou of Albuquerque; 14 grandchildren, Darlene and husband, John Stapleton, Dorothy and husband, Butch McCoy, Diane and Daniel Willis, J.D. and wife, Eleanor Armijo, Martin and wife, Renee Armijo, Roberta Carroll and husband, Dennis, Laura Juarez and husband, Richard, Susan Bostic and husband, Gene, Anita Garcia and husband, Ralph, Victoria Cordova and husband, Bill, RoseAnne Gallegos and husband, David, Christy Porter, John Marshall Armijo, Mike Armijo and wife, Cindy; 31 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Armijo began teaching school at the age of 18 in a one room school house in Anton Chico, N.M. Mrs. Armijo graduated from St. Joseph College (Univ. of Albuq.) She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Altar Society since 1953. Mrs. Armijo and her husband Joe, moved to Albuquerque in 1937 where she continued teaching for A.P.S. for 38 years. During World War II she moved her family to Long Beach, Ca. where she worked at Douglas Aircraft Plant. They returned to Albuquerque after the war ended. A visitation for Mrs. Armijo will be Wednesday evening after 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. N.W. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Darlene Stapleton and Susan Bostic. A final viewing will be Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Father Gene Gries. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, John Stapleton, Butch McCoy, Daniel Willis, J.D. Armijo, Martin Armijo, Dennis Carroll, Richard Juarez, Gene Bostic, Ralph Garcia, Bill Cordova, David Gallegos, John Marshall Armijo and Mike Armijo. Cordova -- Manuel Cordova, 52, a resident of Albuquerque and a former resident of Logan, NM, devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, died Sunday, April 28, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughter, Andrea; son, Armando; parents, Emma and Alfredo Cordova; brothers, Arturo and wife, Sandra of Seattle; Jose and wife, Ida of Albuquerque; Theodore and wife, Evelyn of Loving; Ernest and wife, Valerie of Portales; John and wife, Dora of Las Cruces; and sisters, Angie and Wayne Jackson of Porter and Christina Whitfield of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Natividad Cordova. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Willie Gallegos of Belen, brother-in-law Billy Gallegos, sister-in-law, Stella Gallegos, both of Belen, and recently preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Francis V. Gallegos. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 1, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mckinley -- Gregorita McKinley, 83, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on April 26, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ysidro McKinley of the family home; two daughters, Becky Cordova and husband, Dennis and Dora Sanchez and husband, Celso all of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Gregorita was preceded in death by an infant son, Ysidro McKinley III. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and was Chair Person for the Rosary Rally makers for 25 years. Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks North of Paseo Del Norte) Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th Street. Trujillo -- Manuel Armando Trujillo born April 22, 1968 in Fairview, New Mexico, was raised in Albuquerque New Mexico and died April 13, 2002 in Houston, Texas where he had been residing for the past six years. His accomplishments, however, were not limited as he has helped people to pursue education and was considered a mentor to many. He was a trusted colleague, a tremendous friend and a very loving son. His generosity, wit, and unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever. Manuel attended St. Pius X High School and graduated with honors. He attended Brown University in Providence, RI. and graduated with bachelors degree in International Relations in 1990. He was working on his Masters of Library Science for the past few years, in spite of his diabetes, and was employed at the Warwick Hotel in Houston, TX. as a bartender, manager, and supervisor. Manuel became seriously ill with pneumonia, which created other complications, eventually ending his life. He is survived by his loving mother, Magdalena Trujillo.; two brothers, Joe A. Jr. and Richard Trujillo; his two sisters, Magda Trujillo and boyfriend, Dickie Cordova and Christina Trujillo. He is also survived by three nieces, Crystal Ann Trujillo, Sara Monique Padilla, Summer Cordova; his father, Joe A. Trujillo Sr.; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank his special friend, Sean Reiley for his caring and loving support to Manuel and the family. A Memorial Service was held in Houston on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at Rothko Chapel. We would like to thank the Reverend Robert Snead for a wonderful service. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Albuquerque at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal SE, (University and Coal) on Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. We would like to express and extend our gratitude to all the special friends and acquaintances for their help and support at this time of loss. Wilson -- Dr. Howard L. Wilson passed away Sunday, April 14, 2002 following heart surgery. He was deeply loved and respected by his family, friends and generations of patients he cared for over the past 47 years in the Los Alamos community. Howard was born to Norman and Florence Wilson on July 6, 1924 in Belleville, New Jersey. He attended Columbia College in NYC, NY on an academic scholarship and graduated with an M.D. degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in June of 1947. He completed his post-graduate training at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, PA, Robert Packer Hospital and Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, PA and Bellevue Hospital in New York. He served on the faculty of New York University, College of Medicine as instructor in Pediatrics from 1951-53. He volunteered for active duty in the U.S. Naval Reserve in December 1942 as apprentice Seaman and served during WWII as a Lieutenant, M.C., USNR during the Korean War. He retired from the US Naval Reserve in 1967. In 1949, he married Dorothy Barteau of Scarsdale, New York and together they moved to Billings, Montana where he practiced Pediatrics at Billings Clinic from 1953-55. In August 1955, Dr. Wilson founded The Children's Clinic in Los Alamos, NM with the late Dr. David B. Post and served as Chief of Staff, Chief of Pediatrics and Member of the Hospital Board all at the Los Alamos Medical Center. He was a member of the Los Alamos County Medical Society, New Mexico Medical Society, New Mexico Pediatrics Society, Diplomate American Board of Pediatrics and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He retired from full-time practice of Pediatrics in June 1993, but continued part-time at the Children's Clinic until last week. He is survived by his companion, Marilyn Thayer; his sister, Doris Cole and husband, Manley of Upland, California; Dorothy B. Wilson of Los Alamos; six children, Janet Cordova of Santa Fe, Barbara Schwan and husband, Robert of Venice, CA, Steven B. Wilson of Santa Fe, Dana vanWestrienen and husband, Dirk of Corrales, NM, Kimberly Cunnington and husband, David of Albuquerque, NM, Dale Dunn and husband, Stephen of Key West, FL; and 12 grandchildren, Clay and Chad Cordova, Kyle Schwan, Rachael, Jesse, Adam and Nile vanWestrienen, Galen, Luke and Dylan Cunnington, and Natalie and Ava Dunn. Services will be held at the United Church of Los Alamos on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Wilson -- Dr. Howard L. Wilson passed away Sunday, April 14, 2002 following heart surgery. He was deeply loved and respected by his family, friends and generations of patients he cared for over the past 47 years in the Los Alamos community.
