GALLEGOS -- Joshua Gallegos passed away on August 1, 2009 at the age of 17. He was born on April 11, 1992 and was a life-long resident of Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his father, Frank Gallegos, Sr.; mother, Cecelia Crespin; brother, Frank Gallegos Jr.; sister, Natalie Wesley and husband Cameron and kids, Aden and Mercedes. Joshua had many nieces, nephews, cousins and his grandma, Lucia Gallegos. Christian Services will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Oasis Church, 4800 Lomas Blvd NE (corner of Lomas and Monroe). Private viewing will be done by the family. Arrangements will be handled by Direct Funeral Services.

MARTINEZ -- Alice Mary, age 75, of Corrales, NM, born November 4, 1933 passed away peacefully at the Presbyterian Hospice unit on Monday August 3 2009 after a long battle with diabetes. She was preceded in death by her mother, Felicita Santillanes, who passed on November of 1972. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Benny Martinez; along with her six children, all from Albuquerque, Lawrence Gallegos and wife Chickie, Linda Patino and husband Tony, Sammy Gallegos Jr, Vincent Gallegos and wife Gloria, Geri Gallegos, and Bernadette Gallegos; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in law and many friends. All services will be held at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, at the corner of 4th street and 300 Mildred NW. A rosary will be recited on Friday, August 7th, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday August 8th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. by Father Javier. Pallbearers will be Juan Gallegos, Aidan Gallegos, Tony Patino, Lorenzo Patino, Pete Martinez and, Rudy Martinez. Cremation will take place after all the services.

GALLEGOS -- Bertha Gallegos passed away Friday July 31, 2009. Bertha was born on September 5, 1948. She was so loved by her family and friends. She will be missed by all of us who knew her. She was one to never complain-"I'm A OK" were her favorite words. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and brother Eloy. She is survived by her sons, Nathan and Phillip (Jolene); her husband Gary; eight grandchildren, Faith, Crystal, Derek, Jasmine, Shandi, Nikko, Seth and Ayden; brother Daniel (Barbara); sisters Prescilla, Ester and Erminda and a very special brother-in-law, Sal. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own children. For her many friends, she also loved you all so very much-thank you. We would like to also thank the staff from Hematology Oncology Associates, Presbyterian Hospital, Home Health Care and Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Bertha. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday August 5, 2009 at Queen of Heaven Parish 5311 Phoenix Ave NE at 1:00 in the afternoon.

HEALD -- Marion Joan Heald was born Marion Joan Wright on Feb 5, 1923. She passed away on August 2, 2009, at the age of 86. Joan, her sisters and her brother were raised in East Texas, near the town of Paris, Texas, by their mother, Mamie Wright. During World War II, Joan worked as a secretary in Washington, DC for the war department. Around 1944, Joan married Major Warren S. Dill of Mount Pleasant, Texas. At the time, Warren was in the US Army Air Corps 8th Air Force serving as a B-17 pilot flying numerous missions over Germany before being discharged from the service after the war. They settled in Denton, Texas where they had one son, John Gregory Dill. Shortly after they moved to Lovington, New Mexico where they had three more children, Sydney D. Dill, Jeffrey A. Dill and James R. Dill. Joan and Warren divorced around 1964. After the divorce Joan lived in Hobbs and Roswell and later settled in Albuquerque, where she worked as a secretary at Kirtland Air Force Base. Around 1975, Joan met James R. Heald, a Warrant Officer in the National Guard in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jim and Joan Heald were married in 1976 and lived together as husband and wife for the remainder of their lives in Albuquerque. Joan and Jim Heald were active in the Mormon Church later in their lives. Joan was known to her children as a loving and caring mother and was known for her intelligence, love and generosity to her many friends in and around Albuquerque. Joan was preceded in death by husband James R. Heald, eldest son John Gregory Dill (AKA John Wren), and grand-daughter Chloe Faith Dill all of Albuquerque. She is survived by daughter Sydney Devereaux of Albuquerque; son Jeff Dill of Sunnyside, Washington; son James R. Dill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Sharon O'Connor of Albuquerque; grand daughters Kristen Dill of Tacoma, Washington; Sarah Dill of Spokane, Washington; Erin Devereaux of Albuquerque; grandson James Dill of Oklahoma, OK and great grand daughter Magdalena Rose Gallegos of Albuquerque. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, 87102 on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 10:00 am. GIBSON -- Guadalupe "Lupe" Segura Gibson, a resident at Laurel Skies Health Center in Rio Rancho for the past two years, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 24, 2009 at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice. Lupe was born on May 21, 1930 to Petra Benavidez and Tomas Segura in Las Vegas, NM. She was raised by her grandmother, Silveda Montoya, and her aunt, Cecilia Benavidez, along with her mother, Petra, and stepfather, Antonio Gonzales in a large and loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, John S. Gibson; and her grandson, Kevin Gibson. She is survived by her sister, Pauline and husband, Ernest Chavez, of Las Vegas, NM; her daughter, Getta and husband Robert Bridge, of Regina, NM; sons, Frank Gibson and wife Kathy, of Spokane, WA, Ralph Gibson and wife Darla, of Deer Park, WA, and Lance Gibson and wife Lisa, of Roanoke, TX; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many family and friends in Las Vegas, NM. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. The Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., also, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM with Fr. Tim Cervantes, Celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chad Bridge, Dustin Bridge, Kyle Gibson, Alex Gibson, Brian Gibson, and Timothy Bridge in honor of Kevin Gibson, who died in 1999. PADILLA -- Sam James Padilla, 72, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at his home in Socorro, NM. He was born September 29, 1936 in Polvadera, NM to Eugenio and Miquelita (Chavez) Padilla. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1993, after 40 years of service. Sam was a member of the Senior Olympics where he was involved in many of the activities. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Helen Jojola, Rosie Garcia, Seles Padilla Sr. and Paul Padilla. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susie Martinez Padilla of their home in Socorro; daughters, Barbara J. Daugherty and husband, Steve of Gallup, NM, Paula Deweese and husband, Brian of Socorro, and JoAnn Daley and husband, Michael of Socorro; sister, Lily Apodaca of Polvadera, NM; sister-in-law, Perfie Padilla of Albuquerque, NM; brothers-in-law, Sam Barreras and wife, Rosie of Belen, NM; Jerry Barreras and wife, Marylou of Albuquerque; and Bruno Barreras and wife, Sheila of Paradise, CA; grandchildren, Mandi Vaquera and husband, Victor, and Briana Deweese; great-grandchildren: Analysia Vaquera, Megynn Fierro, Jaye Marie Fierro, and Jonah Vaquera; and a very special sister, Erlinda Chavez and her husband, Ernest of Las Cruces, NM. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro with Celebration of the Funeral Mass immediately following. PRESTON -- Cecilia "Cissy" Preston, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 18, 2009. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cecilia Lennens. Cissy is survived by her husband, Greg Preston of Littleton, CO; her sons, Dwayne and Ryan; her father, Charles and his wife, Patricia Lennens; her sister, Melody and husband, Robert Gallegos; her brother, Charles Lennen Jr.; her niece, Daylynn and husband, Anthony Little and nephew, Robert Gallegos.
