AMES -- Neal (Bud) M. Ames, born February 14, 1929 in Norwich, Connecticut to Lloyd and Gladys Ames passed on July 25, 2009 in Las Cruces, NM. Neal graduated from high school and volunteered for the Marine Corps in 1946, where he served as an aircraft mechanic in North Carolina. After his discharge from the service he worked for two years in the Alaskan territories with a gold mining operation near Fairbanks before settling in Albuquerque, NM. He met his wife Barbara Cantrell and they were wed on September 13, 1958. They had four sons, David, Michael, Benjamin and Matthew. Last summer, Bud and Barbara celebrated 50 Glorious Years. Bud worked for Mountain Bell for 28 years, as a construction Foreman and Inspector. In 1983, Bud retired, and moved to Las Cruces, NM, where he built a home and planted a small pecan orchard. A generous, compassionate, productive member of all of his communities, Bud delighted in helping friends and neighbors. A caring, attentive, sacrificing husband and a patient, loving, devoted parent. He will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by wife Barbara; brothers Lloyd and Richard; sons David, Mike, Ben and Matthew; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Bud was preceded in death by his sister Joan. A Memorial Service to celebrate Bud's life will be held at 2:30 p.m., on July 28, 2009 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Pastor Rev. CLAYCAMP -- Henry John Claycamp, Jr., PhD, of Stanley, NM, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009. His wife, Susan, and his children, Eric, Gregg, Jan, and Jill were at his side. Funeral arrangements are with Berardinelli Family Funeral Services, Santa Fe, NM, Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Henry was born March 12, 1931, to Henry John and Jennie (Armbruster) Claycamp of Ogallah, KS. Henry was a handsome, active, athletic and enterprising young man growing up in WaKeeney, KS. He married Joanne Hillman in 1950 and raised four children during over four-decades of marriage. He was remarried in 1995 to Susan Anne Wiggins, of Atlanta, GA. Joanne and the children enjoyed following Henry's academic career growth and eventual business leadership careers from coast to coast in the US and a year in IMEDE school of business in Lausanne, Switzerland. After completing a doctorate in economics in 1961, Henry served on the faculties of MIT, Stanford, and Perdue schools of business. He eventually moved to corporate business leadership, first in advertising in Philadelphia and subsequently as Vice President of Corporate Planning for International Harvester (IH) Corp. In transition to a private consulting career, Henry left IH in 1988 and taught at the School of Business at Perdue University, where he won teaching awards, and later on the board of directors for the agricultural farm equipment company, AGCO. Henry was a consummate "do-it-yourselfer" who loved working with both wood sculpture and furniture, and enjoyed sharing his love for crafts and "projects" with his family and others visiting the ranch. Most recently Henry and Susan settled in Stanley, NM, where they raised and showed horses from Vista Butte Ranch. Henry and Susan enjoyed sharing their hospitality and gorgeous views from the ranch with family and friends from far reaching places. Henry is survived by his wife, Susan Anne (Wiggins) Claycamp, stepchildren, Kristin Martin and Jennifer Crane and his children from his marriage to Joanne, Eric, Gregg, Jan Neuliep and Jill Watring, and his siblings, Marie Zink, Vernon Claycamp, Caroll Claycamp, and Dorothy Eisenbarth. Henry enjoyed showing the ranches and California beaches with his eleven grandchildren. He loved playing golf in California with Susan. Henry will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family. Funeral arrangements are with Berardinelli Family Funeral Services, Santa Fe, NM, Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at 11:00. Henry requested that his ashes be spread on Henry's and Susan's Vista Butte Ranch. FLEJTUCHOVICH -- Edwyrde Harloughe Flejtuchovich, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 21, 2009. He is survived by his sister, Ione Evans of New York; brother Dr. John G. Flejtuch and wife Carmen of Florida; and nephews and nieces. Harloughe established The Albuquerque Radio Theater and worked with the Vortex Theater, The La Compania Theater Group, and with the Albuquerque Performing Arts Center. GIBSON -- Guadalupe "Lupe" Segura Gibson, a resident at Laurel Skies Health Center in Rio Rancho for the past two years, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 24, 2009 at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice. Lupe was born on May 21, 1930 to Petra Benavidez and Tomas Segura in Las Vegas, NM. She was raised by her grandmother, Silveda Montoya, and her aunt, Cecilia Benavidez, along with her mother, Petra, and stepfather, Antonio Gonzales in a large and loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, John S. Gibson; and her grandson, Kevin Gibson. She is survived by her sister, Pauline and husband, Ernest Chavez, of Las Vegas, NM; her daughter, Getta and husband Robert Bridge, of Regina, NM; sons, Frank Gibson and wife Kathy, of Spokane, WA, Ralph Gibson and wife Darla, of Deer Park, WA, and Lance Gibson and wife Lisa, of Roanoke, TX; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many family and friends in Las Vegas, NM. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. The Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., also, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM with Fr. Tim Cervantes, Celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chad Bridge, Dustin Bridge, Kyle Gibson, Alex Gibson, Brian Gibson, and Timothy Bridge in honor of Kevin Gibson, who died in 1999. HATTOX -- Wilma Emily Hattox, age 88, passed away on July 17, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Grant City, MO on October 21, 1920 to William and Anna Long. Wilma partnered with her husband, Jerry to design and build homes and later co-founded Western Building Supply in 1971. She was the first woman licensed building contractor in the state of New Mexico. Although she was no longer building homes she continued to keep her Ker-Lin Homes license current. Wilma was also a member of the NM Home Builders Association since 1971, a member of the Lobo Club, and the Republican Party. Wilma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that will be deeply missed and her memory will be greatly cherished. Wilma is survived by her two daughters, Keri Ann Small and husband, Gary of Woodlands, TX and Linda Lee Toppert and husband, Bob of Albuquerque, NM, grandchildren, Roy and Jenny Small, Chad Toppert, Cody Toppert and wife, Brittany. Wilma is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jerry Hattox. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rod Stewart officiating. MITCHELL -- Alice Mitchell, nee Snyder, born on May 24, 1920 in Albuquerque, NM died at home in her sleep Wednesday, July 22, 2009. She married Charles Z. Mitchell on January 1, 1943 in Albuquerque before he left for overseas during the Second World War. Alice is survived by two sons, Charles Z. Mitchell, Jr. and his wife, Nanci, of Gilmanton, NH and Donald T. Mitchell and his wife, Alicia, of Totos Santos, Baja, California; three grandchildren, Curtis Z. Mitchell, Mount Vernon, IA, Megan Rae Mitchell, Logan, UT, Jason Mitchell, M.D., Albuquerque, and Sky DuFaux, Oakland, CA; two brothers, Thurman Leach, of Albuquerque and Dwain Leach of CA; one great-grandchild, Arjun Z. Mitchell, Albuquerque;and very best friend, Betty A. Isbister, of Albuquerque. A life-long resident of Albuquerque and a graduate of Albuquerque High School, she loved her years as wife, mother, and homemaker. After the death of her husband, she worked at the Highland Senior Center and La Vida Llena for several years before retirement. She loved traveling with her friends and family, and her hobbies were cooking, fishing, and gardening. She was a long-time member of St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopalian Church. A loving and gentle person, she will be greatly missed by family and her many friends. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., at St. Mark's on the Mesa Chapel, 431 Richmond Pl. NE. OLDFIELD -- Leland M. Oldfield, born May 4, 1920 in Clayton, New Mexico and a lifelong resident of New Mexico went home to be with The Lord on Friday, July 24, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ida Mae Oldfield. He is survived by his son, Ron (Linda) Oldfield of Los Lunas; two grandchildren, Rhonda (Ross) Kimbell and Ryan Oldfield; three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Kellen and Roan; several nieces, nephews and family members. Until his retirement in 1980, Leland was a real estate broker and owner of Oldfield Real Estate Agency, among other businesses in Albuquerque. Leland was always ready and willing to help family members and strangers alike. He was an active member of Alameda Baptist Church. PADILLA -- Sam James Padilla, 72, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at his home in Socorro, NM. He was born September 29, 1936 in Polvadera, NM to Eugenio and Miquelita (Chavez) Padilla. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1993, after 40 years of service. Sam was a member of the Senior Olympics where he was involved in many of the activities. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Helen Jojola, Rosie Garcia, Seles Padilla Sr. and Paul Padilla. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susie Martinez Padilla of their home in Socorro; daughters, Barbara J. Daugherty and husband, Steve of Gallup, NM, Paula Deweese and husband, Brian of Socorro, and JoAnn Daley and husband, Michael of Socorro; sister, Lily Apodaca of Polvadera, NM; sister-in-law, Perfie Padilla of Albuquerque, NM; brothers-in-law, Sam Barreras and wife, Rosie of Belen, NM; Jerry Barreras and wife, Marylou of Albuquerque; and Bruno Barreras and wife, Sheila of Paradise, CA; grandchildren, Mandi Vaquera and husband, Victor, and Briana Deweese; great-grandchildren: Analysia Vaquera, Megynn Fierro, Jaye Marie Fierro, and Jonah Vaquera; and a very special sister, Erlinda Chavez and her husband, Ernest of Las Cruces, NM. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro with Celebration of the Funeral Mass immediately following. Father Andy Pavlak as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Polvadera Cemetery. Pallbearers are Carlos Tafoya, Louie Armijo, Joseph Tafoya, Joe Sanchez, Ross Salazar and David Gallegos. Honorary Pallbearers are all of his Senior Olympics softball teamates. A reception will follow at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Polvadera. PRICE -- Thelma B. "Toni", age 84 of Albuquerque, NM passed away Friday, July 24, 2009. She was born on February 12, 1925 in New York City, NY to Ruperto and Jasmine Planes. Her husband, Lester "Pat" Price preceded her in death in 1978 after more than 30 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter Susana; and by her grandson Damian Sleath. She is survived by her sons Greg Price and wife Vivian of Rochester VT; and Ron Price and wife Dee Ann of Albuquerque, NM; her grandson Anton Price; her granddaughter, Erin Price Clarke and husband Ryan; and great-grandchildren, Damian, Sydney, and Jordan. She is also survived by her half-brothers Ray, Raul. and Robert Planes. She will be missed by her constant companion and beloved dog Rusty. After living in rural upstate New York for several years, Toni and Pat moved to Syracuse, NY where she owned and operated "The House of Toni", a hair salon. They moved to Albuquerque in 1973. In Albuquerque, she worked in gift shops specializing in Native American goods. She enjoyed traveling, cross-country skiing, line dancing and time spent with family and friends.
