Jordan -- James G. Jordan, 80, passed away March 11, 2003. He was born June 20, 1922 in Tucumcari, NM to James O. Jordan and Vera Greer Jordan. James enlisted in the Army Air Corps on Jan 11, 1941, serving in North Africa and Italy during WWII. He received numerous awards and medals in service to his country. After his retirement from the US Air Force, with over 20 yrs of service, he was an active member of the VFW, American Legion, AF Sgt. Assn, and Elks Lodge, and spent a considerable amount of time serving the military related agencies. On February 3, 1945, he married Rita Proulx, and is survived by Rita and their 6 children; sons, Robert & wife, Bobbi, of Strongsville, OH, Randy & wife, Cindy, of De Moines, IA, Patrick & wife, Pam, of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Linda & husband, Jim, Bego of Ridgecrest, CA, Carol & husband, Steve, Onder of Scottsdale, AZ, Darlene and husband, Joe, Raymond of De Moines, IA; sisters, Pluma Ringer, Nola & husband, Buster Charles, of Phoenix, AZ, Gayle Jordan of Redwood City, CA,; brothers, William Oscar Jordan and wife, Virginia, of Santa Fe, NM, and Paris (Doty) Jordan and wife, Jo Nelle, of Los Lunas, NM; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be conducted at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on March 21, 2003 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society at 5800 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM (1-800-227-2345).

Mitchell -- Nicholas James"Nick" Mitchell passed away on Monday, February 3, 2003 in Fresno, CA at the age of 79. Nick was born on June 19, 1923 in Terre Haute, IN. His father, James Metsopolos of Argos, Greece and his mother, Efthemeia Pappas of Sparta, Greece were immigrants to the United States and settled in Indiana. Nicholas served his country in Troop C, 38th Calvary Reconnaissance Squad in World War II, in the French Campaign, where he was wounded. He received a Purple Heart, a Battle Star, and an Eastern Theatre Ribbon for his service. Nick and family moved to Albuquerque in 1952 where he worked for the Civil Service at Kirtland Air Force Base until he retired in 1990. Nicholas and wife, Joan moved to Fresno, CA in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Joan Mitchell of Coarse Gold, CA; son, Robert Mitchell and wife, Judith of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Carolyn Bent of Rio Rancho, NM; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. till noon at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High Street, SE, Albuquerque, NM. Family and friends are invited to attend. Service conducted by Father Mario Giannolpolos.

Richie -- Fritz Richie, 87, a resident of New Mexico since 1949, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marilyn Richie; daughter, Carol Jackson and husband James; granddaughter, Sarah Jackson; sister, Bobbie Egly of California; nephews, Mike Moore and wife, Darlene of Los Lunas and J. Roy Richie of Melvin, TX; and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Fritz was a 50-year member of Carpenters Local Union 1319 in Albuquerque. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the 23rd Infantry Division and took part in the invasion on Omaha Beach. Fritz was awarded the Purple Heart, an Oakleaf Cluster, and a Combat Infantry Badge. He retired from the University of New Mexico in 1980. Fritz was a member of Good News Baptist Church in Los Lunas. Services were held Friday, 2:00 p.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, at Sunset Memorial Park, with Pastor John Richards officiating. Entombment followed the service. Ulibarri -- Isidro S. Ulibarri, 72, a resident of Las Nutrias, NM., peacefully passed away at his home onWednesday, March 12, 2003. He was a member of the San Isidro Catholic Church in Las Nutrias. Isidro retired from the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School after 20 years of outstanding service. He also retired from the Socorro County Landfill Department after serving ten years in the Las Nutrias landfill. He was a very friendly and outgoing person and he loved visiting with his family, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Melecio in 1961; his mother, Evenea in 2002; and two brothers-in-law, Fred Hollingsworth in 1992 and Jose Griego also in 1992. He is survived by his eight brothers and sisters, Clorinda Hollingsworth of Oregon, Emma Griego of Albuquerque, NM, Robert Ulibarri of Las Nutrias, Mela Mendoza of Albuquerque; Fermin Ulibarri of Las Nutrias, Bernie Cordova and her husband, Leo of Veguita, NM; Manual Ulibarri of Las Nutrias; and Mary Chavez and her husband, Leo of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. All services will take place at the San Isidro Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the San Isidro Catholic Cemetery in Las Nutrias. Robinson -- Ella Robinson passed away on March 5, 2003 in Del Rio, Texas where she had lived with her daughter and son-in-law for the last three years. Ella was born¯January 26, 1909 in South Dakota.¯Until age and declining health became a factor she had lived in Albuquerque. She was the beloved wife of Ray. Ella and Ray were founding members of the Immanual Presbyterian Church where she continued her membership until her death.The Reverend, Joyce Liberman, will conduct the interment service Saturday, March 15. Friends are invited to attend the service at 11:00 a.m. at the Sunset Memorial Park. Ella had spent over 20 years teaching in the Albuquerque Public Schools and in the consolidated school system in South Dakota. One sister, Susie Steffan, is the last survivor of eight children born to James and Laura Reynolds Eller. Ella leaves behind one daughter, Donna¯ and her husband, Jack Salter of Del Rio Texas; three grandsons and their wives, Jack Jr. and Tracey, Daniel and Elizabeth, William and Sarah; she had eight great-grandchildren. She was a great favorite with her many nieces and nephews. Ella was a vital part of her community, she loved life and lived every day in love and faith in her Lord.

Ulibarri -- Isidro S. Ulibarri, 72, a resident of Las Nutrias, NM., peacefully passed away at his home onWednesday, March 12, 2003. He was a member of the San Isidro Catholic Church in Las Nutrias. Isidro retired from the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School after 20 years of outstanding service. Cozart -- Georgia R. Cozart, 73, a resident of Los Lunas since 1980, died Monday, March 10, 2003. Doyle -- Josephine Messina (Sciarrotta) Doyle 73, passed away Sunday morning, March 9, 2003 at home after a valiant battle against cancer. She will be remembered for her kind, gentle nature and loved by all whom knew her. An exceptionally devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be deeply missed. She was a wonderful cook and her great Italian meals were something we all looked forward to. A long time resident of Albuquerque, she was born December 19, 1929 in Trenton, New Jersey to Carmelo and Carmella Messina. She attended Trenton High School and worked at Cordey China and Lee Overalls in Trenton. She attended Beauty Academy in Trenton and pursued a career in Cosmotology. Josie continued her career for many years in Albuquerque as both a teacher and hairdresser. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Peter James Sciarrotta, Sr. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Dave L. Doyle, Sr; and her four sons, Philip P. Sciarrotta and wife, Kathy of Corrales, NM, Carm Sciarrotta of Albuquerque, NM, Peter J. Sciarrotta, Jr. and wife, Nina of Knoxville, TN, and David L. Doyle, Jr. and wife, Erin of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Messina and wife, Anna Mae of Trenton, NJ; her sisters, Marie Moceri and husband, John of West Palm Beach, FL and Frances Severino and husband, Carm of Trenton, NJ; sister-in-law, Chicky Cammiso of Yardley, PA; and her aunts, Helen Sizemore of Trenton, NJ and Alice Musterel of Pamona, NJ. She has nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Francisco Ampuero, his nurse Debbie, and his staff; Sylvia, her hospice nurse and the hospice staff; and the lab technicians at Laderia Medical Center for the special, gentle, loving care they provided to her. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 14, 2003 at 8:30 a.m. followed by Memorial Mass at 9:00 a.m. at St. Josephs on the Rio Grande Church, 4000 Saint Joseph Place NW.
