Lopez -- Mr. Manuel"Duke" Lopez died Tuesday in Albuquerque at the age of 51. He is survived by his brothers, Sammy Lopez, Martin Lopez and wife, Sarah, Tony Lopez, and Raymond Lopez; sisters, Mary Ann Bustillos and husband, Alberto, Annie Mae Ortega and husband, Freddy, and Mary Helen Chavez and husband, Agustine. Funeral services for Mr. Lopez will be held on Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Albert Bustillos, Freddy Ortega, Agustine Chavez Sr., Martin Lopez, Agustine Chavez Jr., Timothy Lopez. A Rosary for Mr. Lopez will be recited on Wednesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Ortega -- Mr. Jorge Ortega died Friday in Albuquerque at the age of 31. Jorge was a resident of Albuquerque for 14 years and had been residing in Roswell, NM since 1991. Jorge was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Roswell. He is survived by his father, Jose C. Ortega; mother, Alicia R. Ortega; ex-wife, Julia Gonzales Ortega; son, Jorge Ortega Jr.; daughter, Hazel Ortega, all of Roswell; brothers, Jose A. Ortega and wife, Luz of Albuquerque, and Luis A. Ortega and wife, Doreen of Clovis; sisters, Olea A. Jurado and husband, Enrique of Roswell, Graciela Alvidrez and husband, Jose of Albuquerque, and Veronica Reyes and husband, Anthony of Roswell; paternal grandmother, Luz Raquel Ortega of El Paso, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Jorge will be held on Monday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose A. Ortega, Anthony Reyes, Edgar Herrera, Jose A. Alvidrez, Luis A. Ortega, Enrique Jurado. Honorary Pallbearers will be Martin Olivas, Alfonso Ortega, Miguel Ortega, Juan Alvarado, Catalina Moreno, Raul Ortega. Visitation for Jorge will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. Petronio -- Mr. Anthony John Petronio, 68, a resident of Bosque Farms, passed away on January 8, 2000. Mr. Petronio was the beloved husband of 39 years to Mrs. Alfonsia Petronio. He is also survived by one son, Arthur Petronio and wife, Christine; his beloved mother, Eva Petronio; two sisters, Inez McAvoy and Helen Squeo; a brother, Tommy Petronio, wife, Susie, and daughter, Monica; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Petronio was a member of the Catholic Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with visitation after 6:30 p.m. A communion service will be held Wednesday morning, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with visitation at the church after 8:30 a.m. Deacon Enrique Padilla, officiating. Ortega -- Martin, 40, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, December 23, 1999. He is survived by mother Gricelda Ortega-Torres and her husband Enrique Torres, his children; Efren, Grace-Ann, Marcos, James, sisters; Catherine Abeyta and husband Donald, Louanna Armijo and husband Bill, Irene Ortega, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, girlfriend Cathy Cordova, and best friend Billy Baca. Martin loved the outdoors and was a very talented woodcarver and carpenter. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd SW, with rosary recited at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 1999, mass of christian burial at 10:00 am on Thursday, with burial following at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Sanchez -- John M. Sanchez Sr., 54, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, July 16, 1999 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Paulette; son, John and wife, Tami; daughter, Jude Montoya and husband, Tony; son, Rohn; his grandchildren, Alexis and Zachary Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Stephen Sanchez and wife, Kathy of Albuquerque and Robert Sanchez and wife, Cessie of San Antonio, TX; and a large, loving family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma R. Sanchez. John recently retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools after 26 years of service. He was a teacher, coach, and counselor at several Albuquerque schools including Five Points Elementary School, Washington Middle School, Albuquerque High School, West Mesa High School and Rio Grande High School. He also served as the Dean of Students at the University of Albuquerque for five years. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:30 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Place SE, with Deacon Pilar Garcia reciting. Ramirez -- Mercy Ramirez, 59, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. She is survived by her husband and life partner of 41 years, Juan C. Ramirez; daughter, Ninette Ramirez; son, Chris Ramirez, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Jessica Ramirez, Jennifer Chavez and Marissa Chavez, all of Albuquerque and Krista Lemman of Mesa, AZ; grandsons, Joshua Lemman and Johnathon Lemman of Mesa, AZ and Rudy Chavez of Albuquerque; brother, Jesse Lopez and wife, Delia; sisters, Ramona Saavedra and husband, Carlos, Rita Henson, Connie Gonzales and husband, Gilbert, Josie Aragon and husband, Benny and Laura Trujillo and husband, Carlos; and granddog, Amaretto. Mrs. Ramirez was preceded in death by son, Martin Ramirez; sister, Margaret Prado; and brother, Johnny Lopez. She was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church. Aragon -- Perfecta"Bertha" S. Aragon, 74, a resident of Belen, passed away August 4, 1998 in an Albuquerque hospital after a brief illness. Bertha was preceded in death by her first husband, Adrian Marquez in 1962; her son, who died at birth, Florenio Marquez; and daughter-in-law, Annie Marquez. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Danny Aragon of the family home in Belen; her children, Manuel Marquez of Barstow, CA, Gloria Hunter and husband, Allen of Riverside, CA, Jerry Marquez and wife, Rosa, Martin Marquez and wife, Martina and Patricia Brentz and husband, Jimmy, all of Belen. Also surviving are her brothers, Edwardo Saiz and wife, Ursula, Anastacio Saiz and wife, Sefie, all of Barstow, CA, Fernandez Saiz and wife, Maggie of long Beach, CA, Leo Saiz and wife, Barbara of Belen; sisters, Odelia Gonzales and husband, Manuel and Carol Gabaldon and husband, Ernie, all of Belen; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home. Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Norbert Sanchez officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. David Gallegos on Friday, 10:00 a.m., at San Antonio Catholic Church in Casa Colorada. Interment will follow in the Casa Colorada Cemetery.
