DEUBLE -- Frank Deuble passed away on January 26, 2006, after a brief illness. He was 96 years old. He was born on September 14, 1909, in Ashland, PA, to Christian Lewis Frederick Deuble and Marie Umlauf Deuble. In 1926, he graduated first in his class from Ashland High School and he repeated this academic feat again when he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Jobs were scarce during the Depression, so Frank continued his chemistry education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Master of Science Degree in chemistry in 1933. The same year, he joined Johnson & Johnson as a research chemist, working in quality control. He remained with that company for 41 years, retiring in 1974 after becoming the Director of quality control. In 1934, he married Alyce Ruth Kinter. They lived in Highland Park, NJ, from 1934 to 1979 when they moved to Paradise Hills, NM, to be closer to their sons, Frank Jr. and Robert, and to enjoy the New Mexico weather. Frank was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, J & J employee and church member. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of New Brunswick, NJ, and was its treasurer for many years. He joined the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church after moving West. He was a lifetime member of the American Chemical Society and was an active member of Civitan Club in New Mexico. In retirement, Frank was always proud of the beautiful Jersey tomatoes he grew and distributed to his neighbors. For the past six years, Frank lived with Robert and Candace of Los Lunas, grandson Karl and the family dog, Noel. He was healthy throughout his retirement and loved to eat well. Candy's green chile chicken enchiladas and Robert's black currant pie were among his favorites. He will truly be missed. Franklin has now been reunited with Alyce, his wife of 59 years; his brothers John Lewis Deuble and Harold William Deuble; and his son Franklin Jr. He is survived by son Robert and his wife Candace; three grandchildren, Jessica Ruth, Colin Bruce and Karl Frederick Deuble; nephews John L. and Dick Deuble; nieces Betsy Deuble, Marie Pries, Harolyn Scherry and Janet Larry, and several great-nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Richard Madden in Belen and the medical staff on the third and fourth floors of Presbyterian Hospital for the excellent, compassionate care they gave Frank. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice in Frank's name would be appreciated. Memorial Service will be held at Vista Verde Mortuary, 4310 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho, Tuesday, February 7, at 10 a.m. Family and friends may gather at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements by Vista Verde Memorial Park and Mortuary, 892-9920
