Obituary for COX

Anna Jane Cox, born December 29, 1912 in Okfuskee County, OK and a resident of Albuquerque for the last 11 years, went to be with her family in heaven on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 6:49 a.m. Since returning to Albuquerque, Ann was cared for by her sister, Rosalind, and her nieces, Roberta Ratzlow and Norma Frazier and husband, Andrew and their children. Anna is survived by sisters, Rosalind Ratzlow of Albuquerque and Pearl Mann of Newport, NC; sister-in-law, Wilma Genell Cox of Oklahoma City, OK; "brother-cousin", Lee Coleman Hawkins of Roseberg, OR; and many special nieces and nephews. Annie is also survived by a special neighbor girl, who called her "Mom", Lisa Kelley and daughter, Shantel of Clovis, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Green Cox and Mary Magdalene Hammack Cox; four brothers, Clarence Leo Cox, Floyd William Cox, Bertie Elmer Cox and Jay Delmer Cox; and her four sisters, Lissie Mae Cox Ritchie, Inda Melcena Cox Baker, Ruby Gladys Cox Myers and Opal Grace Cox Lute. Annie was a devout Christian and spent most of her life caring for her family members and others. She will be missed by her loving family and all those who knew her. Services will he held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, located at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Interment will follow.
