Novak -- Charles Robert Novak"Charlie" died Wednesday, October 27, 1999 at the age of 59. He is survived by his daughter, Christina Novak of Ramona, CA; sister, Mary of Hungary; Goddaughter, Cindy Pocze of Albuquerque; and longtime friends, Kalmon Nemeth, Ildi Pocze, Richard Pocze, Thomas Pocze, all of Albuquerque, and Eva Nemes-Jones of California. Charles came to the United States from Hungary with close friend, Kalmon in 1956. He lived in New York until 1977, when he made his way to Albuquerque. Charles was the owner of Chermak Building Company, General Contracting. Friends may visit Aspen Funeral Alternatives, 1935 Juan Tabo NE, Monday, November 1, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Brown -- Charles Hector Brown died peacefully at his home in Magdalena, NM, October 28, 1999. He was born November 12, 1922 in Alamo, NM to Charles and Bennie Brown. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Roger Kelly in May of this year. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Clark Brown; and daughter, Elizabeth Kelly of Magdalena; daughters, Nancy Cortner and husband, Mark of Hagerman, NM, Marguerite Miller and husband, Howard of Milan, NM; sisters, Leota Frizzel of Albuquerque, Doris Yacuk of Thayer, ID, Ruby Brown of Santa Rosa, NM; also four grandchildren. Mr. Brown served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the Magdalena Lodge, F&AM. He was a salesman for the Charles Ilfield Co. and owned the Eagle Wholesale Co. in Magdalena. Cremation has taken place. Donations in his name may be made to Socorro General Hospital Hospice, P.O. Box 1009, Socorro, NM 87801. Cremation arrangements by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, Socorro, NM.

Dawkins -- Edward Donald Dawkins, 67, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, October 28, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Geneva Dawkins; son, Edward D. Dawkins II and wife, Beth of Glendale, AZ; grandson, Philip Dawkins of Chicago, IL; brothers, M.D. Dawkins and wife, Ozell of San Antonio, TX and F.M. Hensley and wife, Mary Lou of Quincey, IL; sister, Katherine Hensley Meade of Ozark, AR; seven nephews; one niece; and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tish Dawkins. Mr. Dawkins was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps, serving 1949-1969. He saw combat in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War and was awarded many medals for his service. After military retirement, Mr. Dawkins served as a volunteer for the New Mexico Civil Air Patrol. He also retired from the Social Security Administration after 21 years. Mr. Dawkins had been an active member of Central United Methodist Church since 1971. This loving husband and father was an honorable gentleman of uncommon value. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Saturday, 3:00 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE, with Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating. Martin -- Charles"Bud" Martin, 77, a resident of Los Alamos for 43 years, died Thursday, October 23, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Martin of Los Alamos; sister, Farabelle Greenfield of Florida; and niece, Sandy Rodabaugh of Florida. Clark -- Vema Lucille Clark, 95, a four year resident of Albuquerque, and former 67 year resident of Oklahoma, died Monday, October 25, 1999. Gonzales -- Armelia L. Gonzales, 79, of North Canal Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, October 24, 1999 at Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest, Inc., North Canal Unit, Carlsbad, New Mexico. She is survived by two sons, Romolo Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Josie of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Margarito Gonzales and wife, Jan of Carlsbad, New Mexico; daughter, Dianne Ingersoll of San Jose, California; two sisters, Amalia Gonzales of San Jose, California, Oralia Ayala of Los Angeles, California; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Armelia L. Gonzales was born Friday, June 18, 1920 to Merced Lobato and Ignacia Sanchez Lobato in San Antonio (now Tijeras), New Mexico where she was raised. She lived in California for a short period of time settling in Tijeras and Albuquerque. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Albuquerque for many years. She was married to Jose R. Gonzales for many years. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held Monday, October 25, 1999, at Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest, Inc., Chapel with Owen Morrow officiating. A rosary will be held Saturday, October 30, 1999, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lindquist -- SGM Charles F. Lindquist, U.S. Army Retired, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, October 24, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Theresa Lindquist; sons, Eugene F. Lindquist and wife, Theresa and Michael Jay Lindquist and wife, Katherine; grandson, Matthew E. Lindquist, all of Albuquerque; brother and sister-in-law, Charles E. Blust and wife, Mildred of Galesburg, IL; sister-in-law, Audrey J. Blust of Galesburg, IL; brothers-in-law, Neal Swanson of Andover, IL and Al Smith of Kearney, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Clifford Alan Lindquist; and parents, Stanley and Hazel Lindquist. Mr. Lindquist was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He retired after 23 years in 1971. Mr. Lindquist was a member of numerous veterans organizations. Services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Mason -- Edna L. Mason, 90, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, died Wednesday, October 27, 1999. Beloved mother and grandmother of daughter, Barbara Ofsthun of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Jamie Ofsthun, Michael Ofsthun and Darren Ofsthun, all of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren, Christina, Kevin and James; also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Franz; and brothers, Charles and Gale Mathias, all of Ohio. Mrs. Mason was a member of Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ. She taught knitting for over 20 years. Cremation services were held at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University NE.

Kise -- Charles Denham Kise"Denny", passed away at his home in Santa Fe on Monday, October 25, 1999. He was born in Faribault, Minnesota in 1937. Since his father was in the military, he had lived in several places throughout the world while growing up. His first love was the guitar, which he started playing when he was twelve years old. Later Denny graduated from high school in London and attended college in Tucson, AZ. he joined the US Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL, where he was a pilot. Denny had many different careers in his lifetime and settled at the Los Alamos Laboratory for the past 18 years. In 1994 he moved to Santa Fe to reside with Barbara, his fiancee. They were planning a June wedding for the year 2000. he never lost his gifted talent and love for the guitar. After more than 30 years his love for flying was recently renewed. Once again he excelled in his flight classes. He was extraordinary in all of his accomplishments. He leaves behind many family members and friends that he loved very much. Denny was a generous, kind, loving person, who was a good father, brother, friend, and fiance. He is survived by his fiancee, Barbara Frankalucci of Santa Fe, NM; step-mother, Marguerite Kise of North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Ken Kneale of Los Angeles, CA; step-sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Tony Houston of North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Raynette Kise of Sinapore; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ken Ryals of Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Pinyo Phromisri of Hawaii; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Joelle Kise of Lebec, CA; step-daughter and her husband, Karol and Lee Werner of Albuquerque, NM; step-daughter and her husband, Robyn and Robert Carr of Albuquerque, NM; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 28, from 7-9 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Santa Fe. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, October 29, at 7:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church.
