ABRAMS, JONATHAN Jonathan Abrams, MD, born in New York City on February 15, 1939, transitioned from his life on earth on July 18, 2014. He is survived by his daughters, Wendy Paige Abrams, her husband Scott Fliegel and granddaughter Emma Bronte Fliegel; Melissa Ambrose, her wife Pamela Ambrose; partner Nancy Whalen; long-time friend, Jan Afton; and former wife, Fay Abrams. Jon touched many, many lives as a friend, cardiologist, tennis player, supporter of the arts, skier and traveler. Jonathan graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1956; the University of California, Berkeley, (BA 1960), where he was a member of and president of Zeta Beta Tau and elected to Phi Beta Kappa; the University of California Medical School in San Francisco, (MD 1964). At UCSF he was the recipient of the Roche Award and elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, honor society. Dr Abrams completed his internship and 1st year of residency (1964 to 1966) on the Harvard service of Boston City Hospital; he then did one year of medical residency/cardiology at the West Roxbury Veterans Administration Hospital. From 1967 to 1968, Jonathan was a cardiology fellow and mentored by W Proctor Harvey at Georgetown University Medical School in Washington DC. In 1968, Dr Abrams came as an Army Captain to Albuquerque to serve as the cardiologist at the Sandia Base (now Kirtland East) hospital. He completed his armed forces service as a Major in mid 1970. Having chosen to stay in New Mexico, Jonathan began his long association with the VA Hospital and then BCMC (now UNM Hospital). A highly regarded cardiologist, Dr, Abrams traveled the world to speak at medical conferences. He was known for his compassionate concern for patients and their families. Dr Abrams retired in October, 2008, from UNM Medical center, where he served as a cardiologist and chief of cardiology 1976 to 1991. Jon's passion for art and artists greatly benefitted the arts in Albuquerque and New Mexico. Jonathan, with his then-wife Fay Abrams, developed a large art collection with work primarily by New Mexico artists. He started the sculpture garden at the Museum of Albuquerque and the collection at UNM Hospital. He and Ms. Abrams donated many pieces of art to UNM, the Albuquerque Museum, the Art Museum of New Mexico in Santa Fe, and the Capitol Art Collection. In 2000, Jonathan received the Governor's Arts Award. He was able to meld his love of cardiology with his love of art when he convinced artist Jim Dine to provide a heart drawing for the cover of Dr. Abrams' cardiology textbook. His legendary sense of humor delighted friends, family and colleagues. BACA, MAUREEN J. Maureen went home at age 59 on July 19, 2014, she was born on November 5, 1954 in Pueblo, CO. She is survived by son David Cordova; two grandchildren Jannara and Andrew Cordova; mother Marcella Cordova; sisters Alice Calvillo and husband Michael, Carol Baca and husband George; brothers Charles Atencio, Phillip, Patrick and wife Allison, Tony and wife Linda; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by brother Paul Cordova and her step-father Manuel Cordova Jr. The services will be held at the Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd NE, ABQ., Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date. BOWER, DARLENE W. Age 69, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 20, 2014, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Amarillo, TX and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM. Darlene loved her grandkids so very much, and enjoyed cooking, kayaking, volunteer work, and playing the piano. Darlene would relax with an occasional margarita. She was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi and Lee Wilder. Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Brian A. Bower; her children, Teresa Bower, Mendy (Ona) Bernal, Brian K. (Jada) Bower; five precious grandchildren; and her brother Lanny Wilder and Vicki Coffin; and other relatives and friends. Darlene will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched. DEAN, DONALD L. died peacefully at home surrounded by his immediate family on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Don is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ana Dean; his son, Jonathan and wife, Leigh; daughters, Ashlee, Melissa, and Daisy, and son Randall, and wife Barbie; nine grandchildren who are his pride and joy: Stephen, Jason, Travis, Mitchell, Rilee, Blane, Mateo, Joaquin, and Gavin; his siblings, Patsy Newsom, Melody Wells, and Harold Dean, all from Coolidge, TX; four great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Steve Ewing. Don was born in Texas and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1963, he moved to Albuquerque where he started Dean Construction in 1970 and retired in 2010. Don, also enjoyed public service and was appointed Chairman of the Private Industry Council in 1979 under Governor Bruce King. He was a Commissioner and Coach with YAFL, coached and refereed soccer and little league baseball. He was an avid slalom water skier, and enjoyed snow skiing. Don was one of the kindest and most generous person on this earth and will be greatly missed, not only by his family, but by the multitude of friends that he had. DOWIATT, SUZANNE P. passed away peacefully on the afternoon of July 17, 2014. We'll miss our mom, wife, grandma, and friend, but know she's now in a better place by the Lord's side. Born in Amarillo, Texas on April 29, 1938 to George and Ann Parker, Suzanne was 76 at the time of her passing. Suzanne had a love of life and it showed in her relationships with her family and friends. Through life's experiences, Suzanne gained a passion for counseling others and helping those in need. Family and friends were very proud when Suzanne, at 58 years young, earned her Bachelor of University Studies and soon after received her certification to practice as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. Suzanne touched many lives through her counseling and enjoyed her work very much. Suzanne loved working in her yard, tending to flowers, and forever battling those pesky weeds. Dogs were a large part of Suzanne's life and her pets were always well loved and well cared for. Friends and family will miss Suzanne dearly and thank the Lord for bringing her light to our lives. Suzanne leaves behind, with fond memories of our time with her, a husband, Al; two sons, David and Daniel; her four grandkids, Crystal, Jamie, Austin and Stephani; an ex-husband, Jim. A memorial service will be held in Albuquerque to celebrate Suzanne's life. Committal of ashes will be in Amarillo, Texas.

GUERRERO, JOHN J. JR. Lt. Col. John J. Guerrero, Jr. USAF Retired age 69, passed away on July 17, 2014. In addition to a distinguished career in the USAF retiring in 1990, John retired again in 2005 as a Senior Captain/Flight Instructor with Northwest Airlines. John had a life-saving Lung Transplant in October 2011 and was a survivor of 2 years and 9 months. He is survived by his lovely and caring wife of 45 years, Sandra Ruth Seeley Guerrero; daughter, Krista Lizak; his sons, Sean Guerrero and Morgan Guerrero; mother, Becky Back Guerrero; sisters, Cheryll Guerrero and Laurel Henry; brother, Gary Guerrero; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as a host of loving family members and friends. JACOBY, WILLIAM ROBERT William Robert Jacoby was a resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014, at 5:43 A.M., at his residence, at the age of 78 years, 4 months, 20 days. William was born February 24, 1936, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Robert Jacoby and Lenore Norfleet Jacoby. William faithfully worked in civil service for many years, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. William married Jo Ann Fillmore on March 25, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. William is survived by his beloved wife of over fifty-nine years, Jo Ann Jacoby of Floresville; his four sons, William Dean Jacoby and wife Elizabeth of Floresville, Texas, Dale Wayne Jacoby and wife Debbie of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Darren Wilson Jacoby of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and James David Jacoby of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his twelve grandchildren; and his fifteen great-grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lenore Jacoby. Visitation began at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, followed by the Funeral service at 7:00 P.M. MO, GARY MICHAEL Born March 17, 1944 in MacDill Field, FL to Charles Luck Mo and Ruth Mae Dubois Childs, lost his courageous battle with lung cancer on July 15, 2014. Raised in a military family, he enlisted into the US Air Force at the age of 18. He served and traveled extensively during his early military career prior to meeting his future wife Louella while stationed at Holloman AFB, NM. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Louella; three daughters Glenda, Elizabeth, Audrey and husband James; grandchildren Kristofer, Jade, Brittany, Lynee' and fiance Kevin, Jacob, Nicholas, Ryan; and great-granddaughter, AndraLeigha. He is also survived by his brothers Charles Mo, Wayne Mo and wife Joanne; in-laws Alice & Adam Tapia, Joe Sanchez, Georgia and Fred Barrett, Elaine and Leo Otero, Deb and Kirk Willford, Steve & Dianna Sanchez, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Ruth Mo and many other close and loving relatives. Gary was a kind and giving soul, loved by everyone in his life. He was a smart and articulate man with many talents. His artistic nature helped him create countless works of ceramic art which we all enjoyed. He earned his college degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. He proudly served his country and retired in Albuquerque, NM from the US Air Force after a 20 year career. He then went on to a 15 year career with the US Postal Service. He spent his short retirement with his family traveling and enjoying his free time. A rosary in his honor will be recited on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral mass to follow immediately after the rosary at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be James Lopez, Kristofer Vigil, Fred Barrett, Steve Sanchez, Leo Otero and Kirk Willford. Gary will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

RAPHAEL, CHRISTOPHER JAN was born August 10, 1973 in Elyria, Ohio. He passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at his home in Albuquerque at the age of 40, after a long battle with cancer. Chris honorably served his country in the US Navy, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. He was very active and involved in officiating and coaching children's sports, something he thoroughly enjoyed volunteering for. As well, Chris was a member of the Warrior Brotherhood Veteran Motorcycle Club. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Beverly Stotts; maternal grandparents, Charles and Sally White and by his sister, Chrissy. Chris is survived by his mother, Linda Raphael; father, Jan Raphael; brother, Camren Raphael; spouse, Jennifer Pulford-Raphael; sons, Elijah Benton and Ethan Raphael; daughter, Olivia Raphael; aunt, Brenda Christianson; as well as numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and many friends who loved and will miss him greatly. ROSS, LUCY WILSON Lucille Wilson Ross, 63, passed away unexpectedly July 13, 2014. Lucy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jonathon Ross; Sons Jason, Matthew and Joseph; grandchildren Kai, Jayce, Morgan, Sydney and Caden; Brother Larry Wilson and Sister Pat Blotsky. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ruby Wilson and Brother Richard. Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandma and friend. Her quick wit, beautiful smile, piercing blue eyes, and loving heart will be missed by all who knew her. Lucy exemplified selflessness with the warmest heart to everyone she met. SHATTUCK-JARAMILLO, PRISCILLA Age 90, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Abelina Jaramillo, her sister Molly Galindro and her brother Gregorio Jaramillo. She is survived by daughter Ramona Lovato and her spouse Alberto; daughter Evelyn Pizzaro; brother Tom Jaramillo and wife Trudy; brother George (Red) Jaramillo and spouse Maria; brother Ben Jaramillo; and sister Angie Tachias and spouse Max; her grandchildren Stephanie Calzaretta and spouse Tim, Suzanne Rios and spouse Gabriel, Maria Abercrombie and spouse Scott, and James Montano; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. TILLERY-KINNEY, PAMELA January 17, 1943 - July 19, 2014 Age: 71 years 6 months and 2 days Pamela Tillery- Kinney passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, July 19th, 2014 in Marion, Illinois. She was born Pamela Joan Powell on January 17, 1943 to Mary Edna (Moore) Powell and the late Cecil William Powell in Lansing Michigan. She grew up in Johnston City, Illinois until 1959 when the family moved to Marion, Illinois. She graduated from Marion High School and attended Southern Illinois University. She married Rusty Mitchell in 1963 and they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1966 where she worked many years in the real estate title industry. Survivors include children Russell Duncan "Rusty" Mitchell, II (Nancy) of Macon, Georgia and Mary Nicole "Nikki" Mitchell of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her beautiful grandchildren are Taylor and Chase Holley of Albuquerque and Duncan and Carter Mitchell of Macon. She is also survived by mother, Mary Powell of Marion; her sister, Cecile Ward (Bob) of Albuquerque; her brother, Curt (Scottie) of Chicago; and five nieces and nephews. She was married to Garland Tillery from 1975 until his death in 1984. She was married to Harry Kinney from 1988 until his death in 2006. Also surviving are Harry's daughter-in-law Margaret of Florida, his daughter Charlotte Kinney (Bruce Weydemeyer) of Santa Fe and granddaughter Sydney. Pam is also survived by several beloved cousins and by her companion, Thomas Wimberly of Marion. WATKINS, MARILYN E. was born September 23, 1926 and peacefully passed into eternity on Friday, July 18, 2014. She is alive today with her risen Savior, Jesus Christ, and her loving husband of 47 years, Jesse Watkins. She is survived by her five children, Dianne Todd and husband Pete, Tom Watkins and wife Harriet, David Watkins and wife Maxine, Mark Watkins and wife Jenny, Dan Watkins and wife Cathy; many grandchildren; great- grandchildren; and extended family and friends who loved and will miss her. Marilyn faithfully served the Lord beside her husband in Albuquerque, Socorro, and Veguita, NM. She played the organ at Alameda Bible Church for many years and played the "Wedding March" time and time again. She could pick up any sheet of music and play it without fault on the organ or piano.
