STUEBER, JAMES "JIM" Age 89, passed into glory on Friday, December 27, 2013. James was born in Marshfield, WI on February 3, 1924. He served in the United States Army during WWII with the OSS in North Africa and Italy. James is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marie; son Tom and his wife, Bonnie, his daughter Patty and her husband, David; grandchildren Sean and wife, Vanessa, Tami and husband, Jeff, Seth and wife, Mary, Valarie, Kurt, Christopher, Kevin, Justin and Kyle; great-grandchildren Josh, Elisa, Garrett, Hayley, Mason, Olivia, Kevin James and Morgan, and dear family members Deborah Stueber and Charles and Carol Henson. James was preceded in death by his sons Richard and Gerald, grandson Scott and brother Robert. James retired from Sandia National Labs in 1979 after a career of 27 years. He enjoyed repairing tube type antique radios and played a major role in developing a 120-acre subdivision in Placitas. James believed strongly in prayer and knew that God was with him every day, and without Jesus he could not make it. He was a loving and devoted husband, who made sure their honeymoon never ended. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 2:00pm at French Wyoming Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Richard J. VALLEJOS, BARTOLO CARLOS Bart (Bartolo) Carlos Vallejos passed away in his home on December 24, 2013. He was born in Watrous, NM on April 25, 1936. After serving in the Army, he spent over 25 years as an Albuquerque firefighter. He then retired to live his dream in the mountains of Holman, NM with beloved wife Stella. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Eduvigen and brothers, Albert and Phil. He is survived by his wife Stella; daughter Valerie Gregory and husband Dishon; grandsons David and Ahmad; and sisters Cecilia Pena, Irene Sanchez/Toby. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 31st with a mass to follow at 11:00am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Internment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday January 2nd at 10:30 am. MCBRIDE, RICHARD Age 73, a resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, December 29, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elvira McBride; daughter Andrea and husband Bill Ewert; and three grandsons, Adam, Dominic and Jeremy; siblings, Becky Thompson, Phillip, Carol and Debra McBride and numerous extended family. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Lou McBride. He served in the US Army CID; received his Master's Degree in education and taught in Albuquerque and Grants. He also owned and operated a bus company in Grants. He enjoyed ranching, was an avid reader, a die-hard Lobo fan and his favorite past time was being with his grandsons. Rosary will be recited Thursday, January 2, 2014, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Rosary will also be recited on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Celebration of the Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 400 E. High Street, Grants, NM. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bill, Adam, Dominic and Jeremy Ewert, Phillip McBride, Andy Mirabal, John Michael Shipman and Enrico Bova. Honorary bearers will be Jamie and Eric Thompson, Steven and Jana McBride, Drew and Jenna Buckley, Gordon and Aaron Pena. MONTOYA, MARGARET C. Margaret "Maggie" C. Montoya, passed away peacefully at her home in Albuquerque at 8:30 in the AM on Christmas eve. A long time resident of Cuba, NM, she was born Sept. 2nd, 1922 to Victor and Faustina Casados in Jemez. She married Louis Montoya on June 14th 1943, who preceded her in death Feb. 11th, 1994. She had two sons, Robert Louis Montoya who preceded her in death in August of 2012, and is survived by Michael Montoya and three daughters, Esther, who is wife of Richard Melograno, Elizabeth Montoya, and Margaret Allen. Maggie is also survived by five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A seamstress and dedicated Catholic daughter she will always be remembered as gifted cook and nobody who sat at her table was ever in need of a warm tortilla with chili. The services will be held at Queen of Heaven at 5311 Phoenix Ave in Albuquerque on Thursday, Jan 2nd. Rosary at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 10:00, reception and viewing. Interment is at 3:00 at the Nat'l Cemetery in Santa Fe where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.

ORTIZ, DOLORES DUKE Dolores Duke Ortiz, aged 88 of Santa Fe, passed away at her home on Dec. 27, 2013. Dolores was the spouse of Ambassador Frank V. Ortiz of Santa Fe. Dolores was born on August 8, 1925 at Fort Riley, KS and the daughter of General James T. Duke and Guadalupe O'Neill Duke. She referred to her upbringing as that of an "Army brat" with her father being posted in Europe after World War II where she lived and studied in France and Germany. Dolores married Frank V. Ortiz on May 2, 1953 at the Post Chapel, Fort Myer, VA and celebrated 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2005. As the wife of a career diplomat they were posted in Ethiopia, Mexico, Washington D.C., Peru, Uruguay, Barbados, Guatemala, Panama and Argentina before finally returning to Santa Fe in 1990. She was a faithful member of the congregation of the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi of Santa Fe, New Mexico and was active in many organizations in Santa Fe including the National Dance Institute (NDI), Friends of the Palace of the Governors amongst others. Dolores is survived by her brother Leonard Duke and his wife Rosetta of Louisville, Kentucky; and her four children, Tina of Santa Fe, NM; Frank, Jr. and his spouse Susan and their children Corinna and Andrew of Potomac, MD; Stephen and his spouse Mary and their children Victoria Marie and Alexander of Taos, NM and James and his spouse Nicola and their children Cassian and Lucas of Tampa, FL. Dolores will lie for viewing at the Berardinelli Funeral Home, 1399 Luisa Street, Santa Fe from 1 - 3 pm on Tuesday, December 31st and a Mass celebrating Dolores' life will be performed at the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi on Thursday, January 2nd at 10 am. Dolores will be laid to rest with her husband Frank at the Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe on Friday, January 3rd at 10 am. RAMIREZ, JOEL "TITO" Passed into peace from this earth on December 24, 2013, after a long-fought illness. ROEHRMAN, MICHAEL FIELDING Michael passed away this month in his home in Dallas, TX. He was the husband of Renee Garduno Roehrman and the father of Nicolas and Ashley Roehrman. He worked at the Social Security Administration in Albuquerque and in Dallas. He was born in Odessa, TX, graduated from Permian High School and had a Masters Degree from San Angelo University. He married into the Bazan and Garduno Family of Albuquerque, NM. A Memorial Mass in Michael's honor will be held at Holy Ghost Parish, 833 Arizona Ave, SE, Albuquerque NM, Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10:00AM.

SANDOVAL, TRINIDAD (SANDY) Age 85, born in Holman, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 26, 2013. Sandy was a veteran of the USMC and served in the Korean war. Sandy is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Sandoval; brothers Armondo, Henry, Narciso; sisters Selena and Mary; daughters Charlene Palacios, Tammi Talle, Cindy Flores; & son Anthony Sapien. Cremation has taken place and ennichement at Santa Fe National Cemetery will take place at a later date to be announced to immediate family.
