ANDERSON, CRAIG G. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Feb. 19, 1948, the only child of Robert and Eleanor. Died March 27 in Poway, CA, from complications caused by Hungtington's Disease. He was an "Army Brat," growing up in several states as well as attending junior high schools in Germany and France. His family eventually moved to Albuquerque where he graduated from Highland High School in 1966 and from UNM in 1970. In addition to his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology he was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy. He went to flight training in Pensacola, FL. He married Amy (McCormick) of Los Alamos in December 1971. The two moved to Meridian, MS, for completion of flight training. Upon receiving his "Wings of Gold" he was assigned to VF-126 at NAS Miramar, CA, flying the A4 jet. This was followed by a tour of duty in Beeville, TX, as an instructor pilot. Subsequently he served with squadrons VS-41 and VS-21 at NAS North Island, CA, flying S3 jets during deployments on the USS Kitty Hawk and the USS Constellation. He loved flying and the thrill of being launched from the carrier decks and landing safely aboard. He left active duty as a Commander and completed a full career in the Naval Reserve. He was proud to have served his country. He was hired as a pilot for Southwest Airlines in 1982. He flew for his beloved company for 25 years before being grounded due to his disease. He enjoyed everyone with whom he worked and he loved going to his "office." He felt he had an enormous family in his fellow SWA employees. But the best of 1982 was still to come with the birth of his son, Christopher. He was overjoyed, proud, excited, and scared to death about being a Dad. He said this was the most difficult but most wonderful job he ever had. Craig coached Little League, his favorites being the T-Ball teams. He was a Cub Scout Pack Master and actively participated in Boy Scouts with his son. He enjoyed playing tennis (poorly) and golf (or, as it often turned out, a great walk with friends while locating small white golf balls.) He enjoyed skiing and always had time for a game of Bridge. Craig was a frustrated by loyal fan of the Padres and Chargers and an enthusiastic supporter of college basketball and football. He loved SDSU basketball and rarely missed a game. He was also a Lobo fan, cheering for them except when they were playing against his Aztecs. He spent his days off with family and friends, wanting to participate as much as possible in the lives of his family. He was generous, gentle and kind, always willing to help a friend in need, whether with advice, assistance with projects, or financially. He had a warm, genuine smile for all he met and he maintained it and his wry sense of humor til the end. Craig was preceded in death by his mother, father and step-mother, Millie. He is survived by his wife Amy and son Christopher, both in the San Diego area; his McCormick family: Mom Margery (Donald); brothers Zachary and Egan, sister Jacqueline; nephew Tyler; nieces Lacey, Chelsea, Micaela; his aunt Dorothy. He never considered them "in-laws." They were his family. His dogs Mnm and Lucy miss him, too. He also leaves behind squadron- and crewmates, co-workers and friends, the members of the HD support group, all who made his life special. He is and will always be missed but he will be in our hearts He is back in his beloved skies, playing "alligator" and doing barrel rolls. Graveside services with full military honors will be April 19 at 10:00am, Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, CA. Guests are encouraged to wear colorful clothing. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA.org) or to a charity of their choice.

BELLAMY, RUTH VIRGINIA She died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, just one month short of her 98th birthday. Service: Greenwood Funeral Home of Fort Worth and Sunset Memorial Park of Albuquerque are coordinating arrangements. Memorials: Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ruth was born in Roswell, N.M. and resided in Arizona, California, Texas and New Mexico at various times in her life. Ruth graduated from Roswell High School and then attended the Texas Technological College, now Texas Tech University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1939. She enjoyed teaching and tutoring children throughout her working years. Ruth married Daly "Dale" Raymond Bellamy in 1943, and they called Albuquerque and Tijeras, N.M. home before moving to Arizona in 1961. After Dale's death in 1970, Ruth moved back to Roswell, where she was able to purchase the same house her mother had lived in before her death. Ruth moved to Fort Worth in 1991 to be close to her sister Bertha. Ruth was especially proud of having served as a mentor and role model for young people. Before leaving Roswell she received a special award "in appreciation and recognition of outstanding service and dedication" to the Dry Harbor Club. During her retirement in Fort Worth she continued to tutor students. She made friends quickly wherever she went. Her sense of humor and kindness will be remembered always by all she met. MILDRED SCHUBERT BREILAND ALBUQUERQUE RESIDENT WAS PIONEER IN DIGITAL INFORMATION AGE. Mildred Schubert Breiland died peacefully on April 9, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at age 97 after a long and full life. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband John G. Breiland. She is survived by her sons, John R. Breiland his wife Wilma, William Breiland his wife Eileen, four grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. Mildred was born July 6, 1915, on a farm in Rock Port, Missouri. Her Parents were Otto Hugo Schubert and Eva Augusta Marlatt. She earned the degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1933 from Wayne State Teachers College. She received the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Library Science in 1940 from the University of Michigan. Mildred moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and accepted a position as Head of the Serials Department at the University of New Mexico Library in the fall of 1941. She married John G. Breiland, an instructor in physics and meteorology at the University, 19 December 1942. After the birth of two sons, Mildred returned to library work in 1950 as Reference Librarian at the Albuquerque Public Library. Three years later, she became Head Librarian of the Albuquerque High School Library. In 1963 she received an appointment as Director to organize and direct a computerized central library processing center for the Albuquerque Public Schools. There were nearly 100 school libraries in the system. The Center gained the distinction of being one of the pioneers in utilizing electronic data processing methods. Mildred was invited by several public school systems throughout the United States to give lectures explaining the Albuquerque system, and worked with IBM to alter their machines to accommodate the new application of automated library cataloging. She served as Treasurer of the Joint Conference of the Southwest Library Association and of the Northern Plains Library Association and as President of the Albuquerque Library Association and the New Mexico Library Association and New Mexico Education Association Library Division. She is listed in Who's Who of American Women and in Who's Who in Librarianship. In her retirement, she traveled often and worked on the family genealogy. There is no memorial service in Albuquerque. A family service will be held in Rock Port, MO at a later time. In lieu of gifts or flowers, Mildred requested that a good deed be done in her memory.

CROWNOVER, TROY F. JR. age 76, entered into rest, Tuesday April 9, 2013 due to congestive heart failure. He was born Carl Walter Harmon, to parents, Clyde Harmon and Dorothy Cleave in Port Arthur, Texas. His siblings were four sisters, Dorothy, Betty, Jeannine and Judy and one brother, Clyde Harmon, Jr. Although having met them as a young man, their whereabouts or whether living or dead is not presently known. At age five he was legally adopted by Troy F. Crownover Sr. (who called him Shorty) and Viola Ames Crownover (who liked calling him Sonny.) Troy is survived by his wife, Patsy of 57 years, (who called him Steve since that was the name Troy liked using at the time he met her in Houston, TX.) He is also survived by a fine son he loved and respected so much, Jason Adam Crownover, his wife, Stephanie and their son, Jensen Reed Crownover, of North Richland Hills, TX. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jerry Dea, stillborn at 8 months and a precious, loving son, Jensen Allen Crownover, age 36. Troy was a loving, devoted husband and good father who was loved dearly and respected by many. He will be greatly missed. DORRELL, FRANCES (FRANKIE) born April 10, 1920 in Sumter, SC passed away April 7, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. Our beloved mother, sister and grandmother has gone to Heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dorrell Sr. in 1971; two children, Olivia Anne Holte in 2007 and Dennis "Skip" Dorrell in 2009; and one grandchild, Frances Valenzuela, her namesake, who passed in 2007. She also joins six siblings who preceded her in death: Arthur, Mary, Billy, Frederick, Marie, and Oliver. Frances is survived by four sisters; two brothers; two children (James "Buddy" Dorrell, Jr. and Terry Dorrell); 13 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Frances exhibited a lifetime of Christian faith and was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church in Albuquerque. She shared her faith with many people in her life and was often seen bringing an entire car full of friends and grandchildren to Sunday School. She was committed to her faith and read the Bible many times over throughout her life. Frances was an extraordinary woman for her time. She helped raise her brothers and sisters while attending Montreat College in North Carolina where she studied education. She then assisted with the war effort when she became a welder in the shipyards in Charleston, SC and Mobile, Alabama during World War II. She later married at age 31 and had four children over the next eight years. She spent the next 30+ years as a teacher and taught countless children the joy of reading, including her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Her family will always remember her and celebrate her life. She had the unique ability to make each one of us feel like we were her favorite person in the world. She will always be remembered for giving us unconditional love. She was a very special person who will be greatly missed. Her grandchildren will remember her and will feel eternally grateful for all the wonderful things she did for us. Her life lessons and gentle words of advice will not be forgotten. She spent every spare minute she had with her grandchildren and will leave a legacy of memories and stories for us to share: We will remember her love of early mornings, coffee and solitaire; summer vacations to South Carolina, Arts in the Parks, the 'old' Albuquerque Museum, swimming, strawberry ice cream, Coca-Cola, running through the sprinklers, word search puzzles, rice krispies, basted eggs and the Onion Sandwich story. Services were held on April 10th at Riverside Baptist Church. She was laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.

EYBERSE, FRANCES ELAINE passed away peacefully, Saturday April 6, 2013, after a long illness. She was 84 years old. During her life, they built a beautiful cabin, she loved cruising, RVing, fishing, and the great outdoors. She volunteered at Anna Caseman for nine years. While living in Albuquerque for 57 years, she worked at Sandia Labs, Blue Cross Blue Shield and retired from Dykewood Corporation/John Hancock, in 1984. She was surrounded by her loving husband, family and her beloved dog, Poco. She is survived by husband Hank Eyberse; her daughter Linda Williams and husband Mike of Cypress TX; her daughter Kathie Deptula and husband Danny of Storrs, CT; three grandchildren, Dan Deptula Jr. of Mansfield Center ,CT, Sage Williams and Myklyn Williams of Houston TX.

FAIRFAX, EUGENE G. Seaman Recruit to Rear Admiral - U.S. Navy Gene Fairfax died on Friday, April 5, 2013 in Albuquerque. He was born on November 6, 1916 in Naples, UT. He attended grades 1-5 in Price, UT; grades 6-7 in Provo, UT; and grades 8-11 in Salt Lake City. He was president of the debate club, and quarterback and captain of the "A" football team in the fall of 1933 and graduated from West High in January of 1934. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March of 1934 and after boot camp, his military career took off. His first assignment was on the U.S.S. Nevada. In 1935 he was accepted to the Naval Academy, where he became captain of the boxing team in 1939. He served on the U.S.S. Mississippi; and he attended flight training in Pensacola, FL. There, he met and married Juliana Daniels in November of 1941. Gene became the Senior Aviator on the U.S.S. Tennessee; the Executive Officer of Fighting Squadron 11 (VF-11); and the Commanding Officer VF-11 on the U.S.S. Hornet flying F6F Hellcats. During that time, he gained 203 combat hours, 58 carrier landings and was credited with downing four Japanese aircraft. He attended Naval War College-Army Guided Missile School, and became an Executive Officer of the Anti-Submarine Training Squadron. He then became a Navigator on the U.S.S. Mindoro, an escort carrier. Gene attended Staff Naval War College, and was promoted to the Night and All-Weather Attack Squadron 33 (VC-33). He was a Navigator and later an Operation's Officer on the U.S.S. Forrestal; he became the head of the Air Launched Guided Missiles Office of the Chief of Naval Operations; he was a Commanding Officer on the U.S.S. Passumpsic, a fleet oiler; and Commanding Officer on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga, an aircraft carrier. He was promoted to Chief of Staff of Carrier Division 1, the Staff Weapons Systems Evaluation Group in the Department of Defense. He became a Navy Deputy, Joint Task Force 2 and in 1966, was promoted to Rear Admiral. He became Commander of Anti-Submarine Warfare Group 5 on the U.S.S. Hornet, and Commander of the Alaskan Sea Frontier. In his last active duty tour he became the Deputy Naval Inspector General of the United States. Gene and Juliana had five children, and because of Gene's service, the family moved from coast to coast. Juliana once said that she had moved 28 times in 30 years; therefore, after Gene retired in February of 1972, they moved to Albuquerque, NM and never moved again. Juliana died in March of 2000, where she was surrounded by all her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Gene now has 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The children are: Michele Pettyjohn married to Bob from Oak Harbor, WA with three children and six grandchildren, Charlotte Chambliss married to Dick from Jacksonville, FL with two children, Jean Marie Fairfax from Albuquerque, NM with three children and eight grandchildren, Eugene Fairfax, Jr. married to Edna from San Antonio, TX with four children and one grandchild and Michael Fairfax from Albuquerque. LOPEZ, JERILYN MARIE (MILLER) November 17, 1959 -- March 29, 2013 Albuquerque Jerilyn Marie Lopez, sweet wife, beloved mother, cherished daughter, protective sister, loving and committed teacher, delightfully clever jokester and well-known cat lover, died peacefully in the early morning of Good Friday, March 29, 2013. Jerilyn was born and raised in Alamogordo, New Mexico, where she and her family enjoyed the near-by White Sands National Monument where her and her father would find glow-in-the-dark scorpions, hunted for arrow heads in the desert, and explored the Trinity Site before it was closed to the public. Later, the family moved to Germany where Jerilyn's natural good looks landed her modeling jobs for German newspapers and magazines. She earned enough from her modeling jobs to buy a new bike. Shortly after, her parents put a stop to the modeling for fear it would interfere with her schooling. As Jerilyn grew older her mother's cosmopolitan tastes emerged and she enjoyed with college friends the excitement of Anaheim, California, Washington D.C. and other large cities. She also enjoyed her family's hometown of Portland, Oregon, taking in the fresh salt air of the Oregon coast and enjoying the juicy blackberries that grow there in abundance. Jerilyn inherited her mother's artistic skills and comic timing, skills which she used to entertain, amuse and embarrass those she loved-the caricatures were spot-on incredible. Jerilyn also hated raisins and couldn't understand why people ruined perfectly good rum ice cream and oatmeal cookies by adding raisins. However, her husband-to-be loved raisins a match made in heaven. Jerilyn met her husband while being one of his students-drop the phone to the gossip line-because they began dating only after she had graduated as she had being seeing someone else while she was in school and first met her husband's acquaintance. She had finally met the love of her life and she was very happy to marry him. Later on she had two beautiful children: one girl, Danae Lopez, and one boy, Jordan Lopez. Her children became her best friends and her children saw her as their champion, their cheerleader, their fellow jokester, and their mentor whom they will love eternally. She will always be carried in her family's hearts. One of her regrets was not seeing a woman, Hillary Clinton, elected President. She voted for Obama not only once -but twice. She wanted everyone to know that "Obamacare" kept her family from declaring medical bankruptcy due to her battling cancer. She had a life-long love affair with classical music and was able to teach herself how to play varying and different musical instruments. Celtic and Moroccan drums, Irish dulcimer, Kalimba (African thumb piano) were some of the musical instruments she enjoyed. She enjoyed seeing cranes and other birds at the Bosque del Apache, Rio Grande boulevard and Alamo farm open space. This was just one of many activities that she took part in that were a testament to her love for nature. During these outings, she preferred driving home via Rio Grande Boulevard -she called it the "Zen" way home. Jerilyn's wish was to be cremated and her ashes spread in the wild, serene places in nature, as well as the places that were near and dear to her. A traditional "Irish wake" -as traditional as her Hispanic husband can manage-will be held in her honor in about a year's time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to one of Jerilyn's favorite charities -some of Jerilyn's favorite charities included ASPCA, Oxfam, the ACR (Alley Cat Rescue) and the Sierra Club. And this isn't a good-bye to Jerilyn. This is just a "See you later."

MARTIN, MARY LOU Age 83, died suddenly in Red Wing, Minnesota, on Sunday, April 7th. She is survived by her children Robert (Kate Abell) of New York, David (Rhonda Bonds), Louisville, and Julie (Jeff Chalmers), Red Wing; her brothers Wilburn (Kingsport, TN), Don (Lebanon, VA), Owen (Kingsport ) and Jerry (Albuquerque, NM); 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Lou is the widow of Galen Martin. She lived in Frankfort, Kentucky, Louisville, Albuquerque, and most recently in Red Wing. Lou was born in Wallins Creek in Harlan County, Kentucky, to Ollie C. and Reva Allgood. She was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, TN and Berea College. Her early childhood in Harlan County formed the setting for her novel "Above the Slate," published by the Jesse Stuart Foundation in 2002. Lou was the author of numerous other short stories and poetry. As a long-time Kentucky state government employee she worked as a publicist and writer for the Department of Environmental Protection and other agencies. Outside of her professional life, Lou was an advocate for many causes, including environmental issues, senior citizens, and civil rights. On the day Lou died, she drafted a card to her Minnesota State Representative saying, "I support the freedom to marry for loving and committed same-sex couples because the constitution requires that we treat everyone equally." For the past 15 years Lou lived primarily in Albuquerque. There she participated with her many friends in the New Life Presbyterian Church Sunday Random Sacks of Kindness lunchtime sandwich program for homeless people. Lou was a role model and friend not only to her children, but to their spouses as well. She developed a close and loving relationship with each of her grandchildren and leaves good memories with all. Lou's last act of giving was to donate herself to the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Memorial services are being planned for Red Wing, Minnesota, and Kentucky. MARTINEZ, MARIA E. age 61 of Albuquerque, passed away following a lengthy illness on Thursday April 11, 2013. She was born on March 27, 1952 in Raton, New Mexico to Marcos and Virginia V. Martinez. Maria was an avid quilt maker and enjoyed cooking and tending to her garden. She was a current member of Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church of Albuquerque. Surviving are her daughter Miriam Martinez; son Raymond Michael Martinez; Her mother Virginia Martinez-Bonin; sisters Vickie New and husband Jim, Connie A. Martinez and husband Clayton Carlson; brothers Marcos Martinez Jr. and wife Cynthia, John Martinez; Father of their children Raymond Richard Martinez; Paternal grandparents of Michael and Miriam, Carmen and Raymond Martinez; Special uncle and aunt Mell Aragon and Dolores Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. MORRIS, MARY ELLEN Mary died on 4/5/13 from complications of a long battle with Arthritis. She is survived by daughter, Rev. Sheila Hammond; son Keith Morris; granddaughter, Kris Morris and her husband, David; grandson, Scott Pettit-Morris; great-grandson, Sam Morris; and great-granddaughter Syven Pettit-Morris. PACHECO, ANTONIA "TONIE" Loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the age of 90. She was born in Torreon, New Mexico to Juan and Luticia Sedillo. Tonie adored her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed playing bingo and games. She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Pacheco; children Flora and Eddie. Tonie is survived by her children Arthur Pacheco and wife Mellie, Virginia Soto, Dolores Sais and husband Joe; and numerous relatives and friends. Tonie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. POLACO, RONALD (RONNIE) A. Age 61, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2011. Ronald Andrew Polaco (Ronnie) was born in Espanola, New Mexico on April 17, 1951. He was preceded in death by his father, John F. Polaco; mother, Lucille C. Garcia; brother, John Anthony Polaco. He is survived by his stepfather Pete Garcia; sons Ronald James Polaco and wife Kiara and Jakob Edward Polaco; his granddaughter Ava Polaco. He leaves behind his sisters, Pat; Paula and her partner Pam; Pam and husband Dave. His nieces and nephews: Deanna and husband Doug; Christal and husband Jason; Ben and wife Valerie; Matthew; Amy and partner Amber, daughter Audreanna; Shane as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved very much. PURDUE, LOIS HOPE Musician, Wife, Mother, Teacher Lois passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013. She was born in Cynthiana, IN in 1923 to John and Vercie Pearl Rutter. Lois could type 90 words per minute and became an excellent pianist while in high school. She met and married Clinton Harding Purdue in 1942, while they were attending Evansville Music College. They had their first son, T. Keith, in 1943. Clint was active in the US Army from 1943-1946, and during this time Lois worked at the P-47 Thunderbolt factory, keeping inventory of the airplane wings 10,000 parts on 3X5 cards. Clint and Lois had their second son, Gary Lynn, in 1947. The family moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1949, where Lois taught piano and organ. Lois was a lover of life and will always be an inspiration. RASBAND, MARIAN age 93, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on April 12, 2013, at home with her family at her side. Mrs. Rasband is survived by her children, Wayne Rasband and wife, Gloria, Joe Rasband and wife, Roberta, Darrell Rasband and wife, Roleen, Scott Rasband and wife, Jeanette, Dave Rasband, Mary Anne Williams and husband, Joe, Elizabeth Sena, Donna Ross and husband, Warren; twenty-five grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Rasband was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the cofounder and longtime owner of Rasband Dairy. RODEY, RAY H. III Age 58, of Scottsdale AZ, formerly of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on April 2, 2013. He endured a courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. Although he had numerous surgeries, hospital stays and treatments he always believed he could overcome the devastating diagnosis. He was greatly appreciative of all his doctors and nurses who cared for him and he became a popular favorite patient at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn and St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a talented swimmer in high school at Sandia HS Albuquerque, and a water polo player at ASU. It was there he met the love of his life, Joy Savage. Ray was employed at Nathan & Associates in Scottsdale since 1992. Ray enjoyed spending time at "Camp Pupule" during the summer at Coronado Beach, CA. Ray's greatest gift was his ability to make others feel important, special and loved. He was always positive and upbeat and never afraid to give out a hug. He truly was a shining ray of light to all who knew him. Ray is survived by his wife of 32 years Joy; twins Hank and Pearce; mother Elaine; sister Jane Dooley; brother James Rodey; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his father, big Ray Rodey. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2013 at Clayton on the Park in Scottsdale, AZ, from 6:00 - 10:00 pm.
