Ruth was born in Roswell, N.M. and resided in Arizona, California, Texas and New Mexico at various times in her life. Ruth graduated from Roswell High School and then attended the Texas Technological College, now Texas Tech University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1939. Ruth married Daly "Dale" Raymond Bellamy in 1943, and they called Albuquerque and Tijeras, N.M. home before moving to Arizona in 1961. Ruth moved to Fort Worth in 1991 to be close to her sister Bertha. Ruth was especially proud of having served as a mentor and role model for young people. Before leaving Roswell she received a special award "in appreciation and recognition of outstanding service and dedication" to the Dry Harbor Club. During her retirement in Fort Worth she continued to tutor students. She made friends quickly wherever she went. Her sense of humor and kindness will be remembered always by all she met.
