 MARTINEZ, MARIA E. age 61 of Albuquerque, passed away following a lengthy illness on Thursday April 11, 2013. She was born on March 27, 1952 in Raton, New Mexico to Marcos and Virginia V. Martinez. Maria was an avid quilt maker and enjoyed cooking and tending to her garden. She was a current member of Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church of Albuquerque. Surviving are her daughter Miriam Martinez; son Raymond Michael Martinez; Her mother Virginia Martinez-Bonin; sisters Vickie New and husband Jim, Connie A. Martinez and husband Clayton Carlson; brothers Marcos Martinez Jr. and wife Cynthia, John Martinez; Father of their children Raymond Richard Martinez; Paternal grandparents of Michael and Miriam, Carmen and Raymond Martinez; Special uncle and aunt Mell Aragon and Dolores Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Marcos Martinez and nephew Eli John Martinez. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday April 17, 2013 at Salazar and Sons Mortuary.
