BACA, MELINDA age 51, passed away Friday, February 1, 2013. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on March 17, 1961. Melinda was preceded in death by her parents Arturo and Clara Baca and her brother Delfino Sandoval. She is survived by her son, Darius Baca and wife Kathy; daughter, Destiny Baca; grandchildren, Helene, Kimora, and Kiara Baca; brothers, Arthur and Anthony Baca; sister-in-law, Maxine Easton-Sandoval; nephew and niece, Zachary and Johanna Rael; great-nephews, Diego and Santiago Rael; and numerous cousins. There will be a Rosary on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 7:00PM at Queen of Heaven Parish in Albuquerque, NM. DAVIS, RITA M. Age 89, a resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, February 3, 2013. She is survived by husband, Gilbert Davis; daughter, Patricia D Hill; sons, Leland Burkett Davis and Gilbert (Ruthann) Davis Jr.; grandchildren, Taren Alicia Hill, Megan Day Hill (Lance) Richards, Patrick Karl Davis, Bryan Leland Davis, Stefan George Davis, Heather Jane Davis, and Kelsey Laura Davis; great-grandchildren, Dominick, Aurora, Zachary, Jackson, and Christopher; brother, Armen; and sister, Noella. GABALDON, TELESFOR "GABBY" age 78, of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Gabby was born on May 29, 1934 in Grants, NM to the late Rafael and Maria Jesus Gabaldon. He was a current member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a retiree of the Bernalillo County Road Dept. after 35 years of service. He served as a Justice of the Peace in the 1960's and was active in New Mexico politics for many years. Gabby and his departed wife Betty Mae were very ambitious individuals as they worked together to provide for their family. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Mae Gabaldon on January 5, 2008 after 51 years of marriage. He is survived by his four daughters and their spouses, Kay Wasson, Bonnie Edwell, Anita Bills and Joyce Griego; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and his son-in-law, Tom Bills. A Rosary service will be recited at 7:00pm on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr., with the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00am on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Holy Family. LOBATO, JIM went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 6, 2013. He was born June 9, 1949 in Durango, CO. Jim was not only a loving husband and companion, but a wonderful father and amazing grandfather. Jim felt his greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He is survived by the love of his life of 44 years, Patricia Lobato; and his three beloved sons, Aaron Lobato and wife Melissa, Darren Lobato, and Jason Lobato and wife Nikki; grandchildren, Ryan and Payton Lobato; brothers, Max Lobato and Richard Lobato; and sisters, Inez Silva and Sheila Chavez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo and Cristina Lobato; and sisters, Alice Trujillo, Liz Gomez and Erma Romero. LOPEZ, TOM E. GABALDON Age 68, the Lord took our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother on Monday, February 4, 2013. He was greeted in Heaven by his mother, Erla Gabaldon and in-laws Tillie and Abel Jirol. He is survived by his loving wife, of 49 years Annie; daughters, Sharon Lopez, Karen and Fred Hernandez, Denise Lopez and fiancee Ray Castillo; sons, Thomas Jr. and wife, Joyce Lopez, Kevin Lopez and fiancee Kathleen Casey Garcia; sister, Linda Gabaldon; brother Bobby and wife, Eloisa Jaramillo; grandchildren, Abel Lopez, who was a great help with the care of his Grandfather, Tony, Ricky and Alicia Hernandez, Casey Lopez, Ray Jr. and Natasha Castillo, Atrelle Quibel-Lopez and little Kevin Lopez Jr., who Tom helped raise, Vincent Garcia, Brittany Garcia; 11 great grandchildren. He was a retired firefighter, EMT and HAZMAT, an avid bowler and karaoke singer. Tom was a 1962 graduate of Albuquerque High School where he played baseball and football. He will be missed for his fun loving personality, he never met a stranger. We'll miss you, Dad! Thanks to NM Hospice and Anna Kaseman Cancer Center personnel for their loving care. A Service will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 820 Broadway Blvd. SE, on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 3:00 pm. Cremation will take place previous to the service. MCCORMICK, MARIE M. Our beloved Grandma 'Rie went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 after a short illness. Marie was 104 years old. She was born in a stone farmhouse near Blaine, Kansas on August 13, 1908 and lived there until 1948, when she moved to Albuquerque with her husband Billy and their five children. She lived here for the rest of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Billy) McCormick; daughter, Mary Geraldine; son Patrick (Gerry) McCormick; and granddaughter Siobhan Erin McCormick. She is survived by her daughters, Marita Roeder of Wheat Ridge, CO, Dolores Frank of St. Anne, IL; son Hugh C. McCormick and wife Patricia of Aurora, CO; daughter-in-law, Tonia McCormick of Albuquerque; and sister, Patricia Harrington of Blaine, KS. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; plus numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. Upon moving to Albuquerque Marie went to the Kelleher Sister's Business College and took accounting and secretarial courses. After she finished school she worked at Electric City for several years, then at Fedway downtown, and finally with Pete, Marwick and Mitchell until she retired in 1973. She was a founding member of St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in the North Valley and an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Santa Maria, for over 45 years. She was also a member of the Theresian's Christian Women's group for many years and was an officer in both groups. A Rosary will be said at St Therese Church at 3424 Fourth St NW on Saturday, February 9th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Blaine, Kansas at a later date. MOQUINO, JOE age 68, born November 3, 1944, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie G. and Rita L. (Lovato) Moquino and one sister, Pauline. Joe is survived by his wife of 39 years, Veronica; two sons, Joseph Abeita and wife Alberta and Raymond Abeita; one daughter, Wilhamette; one brother, Ernest Moquino and wife Maria; many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as four nieces, one nephew, two great-nieces and two great-nephews. All services will be held at Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, beginning with a visitation on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 5:00 PM. Recitation of the Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. PAGE, LAURENCE E. "LARRY" longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on the 31st of January, 2013 surrounded by all those who loved him deeply. Larry was born in London, England on the 4th of July in 1923. Larry lived in London until the age of 29 and served with distinction in the British Royal Marines during World War II. He moved to America on January 29, 1953 with a suitcase and a toolbox, his lifelong friend and spouse, Connie, and young family to find a better life after the War. Larry became a successful businessman in Albuquerque but most importantly he was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and best friend; he touched the lives of many with his humor, counsel, generosity, friendship, and love. Larry was affectionately known to his wife and sisters as "Laurie" and to his grandchildren as "Papa". Nothing made Papa happier than spending time with his grandchildren & great- granddaughter. Larry dedicated his life to the happiness and wellbeing of all his loved ones. Larry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Constance; his sister June Stokes in Australia; his sister Yvonne Glover in Canada; his four children, Steven Page and wife Karen, Susan L. Cheshire and husband Steve, Laura A. Lowery and husband Chuck, and Scott E. Page and wife Marcia; his ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. His only regret was missing the birth of his second great-grandchild to his oldest grandson, Blaine and his wife Emily, expected in March of this year. His spirit will be present when the baby is born. In honoring Larry's request there will be no service, friends and family will celebrate the wonderful memories of his life on his birthday. PATTEN, MINETTE H. Age 80, peacefully passed away at her home Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Minette "Mama" is survived by her daughter, Melanie P. Fritzsche and son-in-law, Matt Fritzsche; sister, Doreen Hammond; brother, Bradford Hall; many nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, A. Richmond Hall and mother, Minnielee Hall. Minette was from Rockland, Massachusetts. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in her high school years and graduated from "Bull Dog City" Albuquerque High. She went on to attend the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1953. While at UNM, she was a member of Town Club, an independent social organization, and Spurs, a National Honor Society for Sophomore Women. As a pharmacy student, Minette helped start the Albuquerque Poison Control Center with her talents of researching, writing, and understanding of drug reactions. As a Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.), she worked in hospital and retail pharmacies. Her career as a Registered Pharmacist spanned 44 years. Minette enjoyed the outdoors very much. She began skiing in the 1950's and skied the slopes from Sun Valley, Idaho and Vail, Colorado, to the many slopes throughout New Mexico. She was an avid fisherman since her early childhood. She fished the ponds around her house in New England and the nearby Atlantic Ocean. Later, she taught herself and others how to fly fish and enjoyed fishing the northern rivers of New Mexico. In addition, she liked to hike and camp. Minette traveled all over the United States and Canada. She attained her goal of going to Alaska not once, but twice. She was active at the Palo Duro and Bear Canyon Senior Citizen Centers, water aerobics at UNM, and the Presbyterian Aquatic Program. Participating in League Bridge, she was a member of the Duke City Bridge Club, which is a member of the American Contract Bridge League. Minette accomplished being a Sectional Master by earning 54.32 master points. Her love of animals was evident through her feeding of the birds and having cats and dogs throughout her life. Minette "Mama" was a smart individual and will be missed greatly. RODEE, HOWARD D. PH.D a longtime resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from complications of Parkinson's disease, surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marian E. Rodee; daughters, Katherine E. Rodee, Susannah E. Fedorowich and her husband Michael Fedorowich and their expected baby. Howard is also survived by childhood best friend Darrell Meuthing and wife Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Margaret Rodee. Dr. Rodee was a well-loved and respected professor of Art History at UNM from 1969 until he retired in 2002. He inspired and passed on his love of art to many students. He was born on May 25, 1933 in Columbus, OH where he was raised and attended Ohio State University receiving his BA and MA degree when he went on to Columbia University where he earned his Doctorate in Art History. He was a brilliant teacher, a wonderful husband and beloved father with a clever sense of humor and a love of collecting. He will always be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be held on February 10, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the family home. Memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Health Foundation for Hospice. SAWYER, REGINALD "REGGIE" Age 82, a resident of Albuquerque since June, 1979, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Katherine M. Sawyer of Albuquerque, NM; children, Clay Sawyer of Huntington Beach, CA, Kristal Sawyer of Columbus, OH, Scott Sawyer and wife, Faith of Hammond, LA, Shawn Sawyer and wife, Rebecca of Albuquerque, and Brandon Sawyer of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Tyler Blanchard of Shreveport, LA, Lacee Sawyer and Trista Sawyer, both of Hammond, LA, and Mikalah Sawyer of Albuquerque. Reggie was preceded in death by his mother, Hallie Sawyer, twin brother, Randy Sawyer and his beloved Aunt Grace Hofer. He was born in Claxton, GA and after high school entered the United States Air Force where he served honorably for 28 years until his retirement in 1979. During his time in the Air Force, Reginald Sawyers outstanding professional skill, knowledge and leadership aided immeasurably in identifying and resolving a multitude of complex, technical and managerial problems. He was the owner of The Hanging Tree Gallery in Old Town since 1986. Reggie was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. SMITH, MARIE a long-time Albuquerque resident, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, in Carlsbad, California, at age 86 after a short illness. Marie moved to Albuquerque with her husband, Bill (William F. C.) in 1959, when he began his career in the Weapons Laboratory of Kirtland Air Force Base. They lived first in the N. Valley until 1968 and then in the Heights until 2006 when she joined her children in Carlsbad, California. Marie was an active member of the Uptown Garden Club,, St. Joseph Hospital Candy Auxiliary, the Casa de Angelica Auxiliary, the Albuquerque Symphony Orchestra Guild, the Santa Fe Opera Guild, and the Fiesta Singers. Marie was president of the Albuquerque Chapter of the SFO Guild in 1982. She and Bill were early investors in the Sandia Peak Tramway. Later in life she especially enjoyed collecting everything Scottie. Marie is survived by son Chris, his wife, Valerie, and granddaughter Olivia; son Bill and his wife, Robin, all of California; sister-in-law Grace Schulte; and nephews George and Gregory, all of Florida. Marie will be interred in Albuquerque at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery following a funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, Feb. 16th at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont Street, NE. Friends are invited to join the family for an informal reception after the burial service.

TORRES, JOSE I. (JOE) age 71, our beloved son, brother and uncle passed away on February 4, 2013, with his loving family by his side. He was a Vietnam Vet who proudly served his country. He was preceded in death by his father Juan B. Torres. Joe is survived by his mother Rosella Torres; three sisters Maria Gutierrez and husband Ben, Peggy Torres, Gabriela Taylor and husband Bill; brothers Leo, Benny and his wife Judy; nieces Betty Baca, Isabel Ibarra and other nieces and nephews.
