MCCORMICK, MARIE M. Our beloved Grandma 'Rie went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 after a short illness. Marie was 104 years old. She was born in a stone farmhouse near Blaine, Kansas on August 13, 1908 and lived there until 1948, when she moved to Albuquerque with her husband Billy and their five children. She lived here for the rest of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Billy) McCormick; daughter, Mary Geraldine; son Patrick (Gerry) McCormick; and granddaughter Siobhan Erin McCormick. She is survived by her daughters, Marita Roeder of Wheat Ridge, CO, Dolores Frank of St. Anne, IL; son Hugh C. McCormick and wife Patricia of Aurora, CO; daughter-in-law, Tonia McCormick of Albuquerque; and sister, Patricia Harrington of Blaine, KS. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; plus numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. Upon moving to Albuquerque Marie went to the Kelleher Sister's Business College and took accounting and secretarial courses. After she finished school she worked at Electric City for several years, then at Fedway downtown, and finally with Pete, Marwick and Mitchell until she retired in 1973. She was a founding member of St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in the North Valley and an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Santa Maria, for over 45 years. She was also a member of the Theresian's Christian Women's group for many years and was an officer in both groups. A Rosary will be said at St Therese Church at 3424 Fourth St NW on Saturday, February 9th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Blaine, Kansas at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the New Heart Center for Cardiac Rehabilitation at 601 Lomas NE, Abq, NM 87102 or the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Santa Maria 317, Attn.
