Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday February 09, 2013

PAGE, LAURENCE E. "LARRY" longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on the 31st of January, 2013 surrounded by all those who loved him deeply. Larry was born in London, England on the 4th of July in 1923. Larry lived in London until the age of 29 and served with distinction in the British Royal Marines during World War II. He moved to America on January 29, 1953 with a suitcase and a toolbox, his lifelong friend and spouse, Connie, and young family to find a better life after the War. Larry became a successful businessman in Albuquerque but most importantly he was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and best friend; he touched the lives of many with his humor, counsel, generosity, friendship, and love. Larry was affectionately known to his wife and sisters as "Laurie" and to his grandchildren as "Papa". Nothing made Papa happier than spending time with his grandchildren & great- granddaughter. Larry dedicated his life to the happiness and wellbeing of all his loved ones. Larry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Constance; his sister June Stokes in Australia; his sister Yvonne Glover in Canada; his four children, Steven Page and wife Karen, Susan L. Cheshire and husband Steve, Laura A. Lowery and husband Chuck, and Scott E. Page and wife Marcia; his ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. His only regret was missing the birth of his second great-grandchild to his oldest grandson, Blaine and his wife Emily, expected in March of this year. His spirit will be present when the baby is born. In honoring Larry's request there will be no service, friends and family will celebrate the wonderful memories of his life on his birthday. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in the name of his loving wife, Constance E. Page.
