BENGE -- DONALD LEE Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on July 21, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Eula Ray Benge. He is survived by his four children: daughters Sharron Benge-Hartley and spouse Michael, of Waxahachie, Texas, Tina Roxan Benge Anderes and spouse Robert, of Arlington, Texas, Holly Benge Bernal and spouse German, of Mallorca, Spain; and son, Michael Ray Benge and spouse Debra, of Cherry Hills Village Colorado. Don was born on July 29, 1928 in Norman, Oklahoma to Utley Benge and Roxis Lee Poulk. Don is also survived by his sisters Mary Melin and Martha Burke and his grandchildren Candice, Kirsten, Reagen, Kathleen, Allison, Rachel, Ryan, Avery, Mark and Alex. Don graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended the University of New Mexico, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Don proudly served his country in the Coast Guard for two years. In 1951, Don was married to Ray in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Jamaica where Don oversaw the installation of a major rail line across the Jamaican jungle. They returned to live in Hobbs, New Mexico for four years where Don worked as the City Engineer and Director of Public Works, before moving to El Paso, where they lived for 23 years raising their family. Don worked for Border Steel and later became Vice President of Engineering and Fabrication and also served as Alderman at large for the city of El Paso from 1971 to 1973. In the early eighties he moved to Waxahachie, Texas where his new company had installed a rebar coating line and fabrication shop. Don, a pioneer in the steel industry, had a long and notable career and he is credited with building one of the largest privately held rebar fabrication and epoxy coating companies in the country. After the successful sale of his companies in 2008, Don was able to spend more time pursuing his love of horse racing. Amongst his horses, A.U. Miner and Wise River were invited to race in the prestigious Breeders Cup on two separate occasions. Don was a licensed pilot, a member of the National Ski Patrol, an avid traveler and staunchly dedicated to his family. He was a strong and loving husband, father, and friend. Together, Don and Ray shaped the lives of not only their family but all who came to know them well. Don's life is a true example of the results of hard work and dedication. He provided for his family in innumerable ways while reminding all that life was worth celebrating and sharing with the people you love most. Don's love of family was unparalleled and his generosity has no end. He will be greatly missed but in his absence he leaves a profound legacy not often seen. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Waxahachie, Texas. A memorial service will be held on July 28, 2012 at ten o'clock in the morning. BUCKLER -- CHRISTINE C. Age 57, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Tim Buckler; her mom, Dorothy Gutierrez; brother, John Gutierrez and his wife Liz; sisters, Gerri Campbell and her husband Christopher, Evelyn DeCosta and her husband Dwayne, and her cousin like a sis, Becky Flores; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Robert Buckler and his wife Debbie, Carol Tirrell and her husband Al, Richard Buckler and his wife Mary Hope, John Buckler and his wife Lynn, and Steve Buckler; nieces and nephews, Danny, April, Michelle, Gabriel, Danessa, Daniel, Danae, Carlos, Tomas, Natalie, Christopher, Julio, Kim, David, Traci, Phillip, Sarah, Mary Rosa, and Carrie along with many aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends. Christine was preceded in death by her father, Adrian and her brother, Danny Gutierrez. Though she never had any children of her own, she was a very beloved godmother and mother figure to many. Christine worked for 17 years as a Day Care Director. Her nieces, nephews, and the children she took care of affectionately called her Auntie Chocolate because she always had a piece of chocolate to share. She was a giver her entire life. She gave of her time, her love, and her guidance every day to everyone she met. Christine was proud to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Her faith allowed her to lead by example. DAILEY -- DANIEL GUTH beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the age of 75. Dan was a native of Des Moines, Iowa, and lived there until he graduated from Drake University and entered the U. S. Air Force. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Dorothy Dailey and brother David. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jeanne Daniel Dailey; son Douglas Dailey and daughter-in-law Tracey; grandchildren Brittany and Blake Dailey and step-grandchildren Tommy and Taylor Hall; daughter Laurie Dailey; brother and sister-in-law Donald and Karen Dailey; sister-in-law Ann Dailey; parents-in-law James and Genevieve Smith; family members Dennis and Stephanie Housdan; Catherine Smith; Patricia Gordon; Joe and Jaymee Jenkins; and many nieces and nephews. Dan had a fulfilling career in the Air Force for 28 years, flying a variety of aircraft and retiring in the grade of colonel. Dan moved to Albuquerque in 1990 where he became an active member and leader at Central United Methodist Church, a church he held dear to his heart. He was also a longtime member of the Sandia Kiwanis Club. Dan was a kind, fun, smart, handsome, patriotic, and elegant gentleman. He relished traveling with his wife Jeanne and had many stories to relate on their trips to Europe. Most recently he took up poetry writing and at the time of his death was preparing to publish a book of his writings. His family will continue with that legacy. Dan deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren and family and was honored to have many wonderful friends whom he also loved. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 26th at 2:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87106. GASPARICH -- GERALD E. Age 83, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012. He is survived by his four children, Evelyn Turney and husband John of Albuquerque, Barbara Ginn and husband DeWayne of Scottsdale, AZ, Vince Gasparich and wife Karen of Albuquerque, Kevin Gasparich and wife Kelly of Snohomish, WA. He had ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mr. Gasparich was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary. He was a previous member of the Elk's Club, Toastmasters, Notre Dame Sub-alumni and a longtime member of Annunciation Catholic Church. Jerry was born in Gallup, NM, graduated from Kansas St. University with a degree in architecture and moved to Albuquerque in 1955. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, designing and facilitating the building of schools and hospitals on reservations across the US. The Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at French - University Chapel. HARDY -- ANTHONY JOSEPH "TONY" Born in Montebello, CA in 1958, now age 53, he was a longtime resident of Albuquerque since 1970. He went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 6:00 a.m. He was so strong to endure the chemo, radiation, and surgery of pancreatic cancer since Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. Tony won his battle, and is now free with no worries or pain. His passing was very calm and peaceful at our home, back into the Lord's home. He is survived by his loving wife, Zerina Hardy; parents, Fredrick and Alice Hardy, Baltazar Vigil, Richard Hammond; children, Nicholas Hardy (Sabrina), Danielle Bercier, April Bercier, Christopher Hardy and Nicolle Bercier; siblings, Ann and Harry Landis, Mary Hardy and Michael, Paul Hardy and Amy; numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. MAINE -- HARRY L. Age 77, a resident of Columbus, NM went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Cruces, NM. Harry was born on May, 17, 1935 in Custer, South Dakota to Omar Maine and Eva Rood. Harry lived in Albuquerque, NM for 24 years, and 11 years in Columbus, NM. He also graduated from Northwest Nazarene University and University of New Mexico. Harry loved life, enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and he loved serving the Lord. He was survived by his wife of 54 years Marie Maine; two sons, Thomas Maine and his wife Loretta of Rio Rancho, NM and Lester Maine and his wife Jennifer of Chandler, AZ; two daughters, Elice Rowe and her husband David of Edgewood, NM and Sonya Kessinger and her husband Dale of Madison, Wisconsin; eight brothers, Bill, Vick, Pete, Bob, Allen, Jim, Emmit and Richard Maine; one sister, Anita Copper; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. MCPHAIL -- JOHNNYE L. Age 90, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012. She was born in Vera, Texas and moved to New Mexico in 1938. A graduate of Albuquerque High School, she worked as a bookkeeper and seamstress. She has fond memories of the years that she lived and worked in Jemez mountains. Johnnye was a member of Job's Daughters, Daughters of the Nile, and Beta Sigma Phi. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed reading, and excelled in arts and crafts. MESSERLI -- JOHN N. Age 89, a resident of Rio Rancho, died Friday, July 20, 2012. He is survived by wife, Martha M. Messerli; children, Kathy Pelletier and husband Bob, David J. Messerli and wife, Deanna, daughter, Mary Lujan and husband, Jim, daughter, Jerry Messerli; grandchildren, Tracy Sims and husband, John, Matthew Pelletier and wife, Leah, Sam Messerli and wife, Sabrina, Kayla Mander and husband, Matthew, Jennifer Fouts and husband, Seth, Jared Lujan and wife, Tiara; great-grandchildren, Cody Sims, Alyssa Messerli, Alexander Messerli, Aiden Fouts; and sister, Beverly Sue Amory. John was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Messerli of 35 years. John was a Navy veteran of World War II where he served in the South Pacific. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, since 1934, and loved dancing to Big Band music. He was an active member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church where he taught children's Sunday school, did medical missions work, and participated in Bubba's. John never met a stranger and loved telling stories. This became even more evident when he and Martha started fulltime RVing, which they enjoyed for over ten years. They were hardly set up before he would take off looking for a new friend. He will be greatly missed. MORROW -- MALCOLM (MAC) MAURICE, DR. Passed away on July 19, 2012 at the age of 81 at the Lovelace Westside Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by his entire family. Mac was born on January 16, 1931, in Laredo, Texas, to William Clay and Laura McKay Morrow. His family lived for a number of years in South Haven, Kansas, and later in Parker, Kansas where he graduated high school in 1948. He attended the University of Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1956. Mac married Nona Brice on December 26, 1955 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. At the time of his death, Mac and Nona had been married for over 57 years. Mac and Nona moved to Springer, New Mexico in 1959 after spending two years in Crownpoint, New Mexico where Mac practiced medicine at the Navajo Hospital under the direction of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Mac became a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians in 1976. He was a member of the New Mexico Academy of Family Physicians for 36 years, and president of that organization in 1978. He served on the Springer School Board for twelve years, and was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church. Mac was a devoted husband, loving and firm father, a dedicated family doctor, avid fly fisherman, and lifelong Kansas Jayhawk basketball fan. Mac could always be seen driving his 1959 Willy's Jeep or his 1960 Mercedes Benz around Springer, and every Thursday afternoon, like clock work, that jeep could be seen parked by the stream in Cimarron Canyon. Mac enjoyed many moments in that same jeep, like taking his sons on their annual deer hunting trip and teaching all his children to drive. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, siblings Duane, Ken and Nita. He is survived by his loving wife Nona; his four children and their spouses, Janet Kear(Michael), Mike Morrow (Christie), Patrick Morrow (Shelley) and Julie Morrow. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Darrin, Patrick, and Brian Kear, Ryan Ramirez, Kyle and Brad Morrow, and Clay and Kristen Morrow; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mac will be forever missed by his entire family. Memorial services will be conducted at the Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108, on July 28, 2012 from 2:00-3:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. PAYAN -- JESUS ANTONIO age 72 of Albuquerque, NM passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2012. Antonio was born on October 2, 1939 in Valle de Zaragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico to Roberto and Agueda Payan. He was a skilled wrought iron artist who used his talents in various wrought iron products and designs and was a self-employed roofer for many years in Albuquerque. Surviving are his wife of 34 years Natividad; one son Roberto A. Payan; three daughters Maribel Smith and her husband Scott, Beatrice Munoz and her husband Ken and Cecilia Payan and her partner Tiffany Burkhart; five grandchildren Kenneth, Jesse, Kassandra, Adan and Antonio; one great-grandson Skyler; his brother Victor Payan and his wife Tomasa; sisters Guadalupe Payan, Amparo Waters and Aida Rodriguez; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. WEBSTER -- THOMAS JOHN Passed into eternal life on July 19, 2012, at his home in Las Cruces, NM. Tom was a loving father, a son and brother who shared a close-knit relationship with his family, a joyful, loving, compassionate partner, and a cherished friend. Tom was born on February 18, 1958, and raised in Albuquerque by Donald and Alice Webster. Don and Alice raised their sons with a sense of adventure, exploration, and a love of the outdoors. At the age of eleven, Tom acquired his first hawk as a falconer and eventually became a life-long licensed falconer. Tom also enjoyed gun sports and shared his skill with his sons. Tom's sons, Aaron and Corey, were an incredible source of pride for him. Aaron and Corey shared in the interesting life Tom and his wife, Mary Beth Worley, cultivated around their love of exploring and camping. With Tom's VW van loaded with camping equipment, they explored the streams and forests of New Mexico and the beaches of Mexico. And he looked forward to sharing these adventures with his only grandchild, Gemma. Tom moved to Las Cruces in 1976 to study education at New Mexico State University. He became a life-long educator and taught for the Las Cruces Public Schools for 21 years. He was proud that he started his teaching career at the Court Youth Center and enjoyed his junior high students. Tom's 17 years with the district's EXCEL Career Exploration program enriched his life and the lives of countless students. He especially enjoyed hearing from former students and celebrating their successes. In December, 2010, Tom earned a Master's of Social Work, and in 2011, he began his second career as a clinician on the Recovery Unit at Mesilla Valley Hospital. He was loved and highly respected by the staff and patients. Tom was committed to helping others in their recovery and the patients at MVH often requested that their sessions be with him. Tom is survived by his former wife and life-long friend Mary Elizabeth Worley of Las Cruces; father Donald Robinson Webster of Elephant Butte; sons Aaron Thomas Webster of Albuquerque, and Corey Morgan Webster and wife Lorraine of Las Cruces; brother Daniel Joseph Webster of Albuquerque; granddaughter Gemma Elizabeth Webster of Las Cruces; niece Rainbow Hursa-Webster; nephew Taylor Hursa-Webster; aunt Margaret "Peggy" Boyce of Saugatuck, MI; and uncle David Webster of Fort Sheldon, MI. Tom was preceded in death by his mother Alexandria Dymtro Webster, and fathers-in-law John Petersen and Ronnie I. Worley. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m. at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home, 555 W. Amador Ave., Las Cruces, NM. A reception will be held immediately after the service at the Lundeen in of the Arts. Fellow musicians are welcome to bring their instruments for an acoustic jam session in the courtyard. Tom's family and friends will always be grateful for the time they shared with him and the joys he brought into their lives. Rest in peace Tom, we love you. WEEKS -- HELEN PATRICIA (PAT) Passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Uzziel William Weeks; her parents, Michael and Helen Hussey; and her nephew, Michael Hussey III. Survivors include her children, Susan and husband John Hart and their children, Michael, Gregory and Grace of Greenwich, CT; Kathy and Judge Jim Hall and their children, Eric, Alex and Kate of Santa Fe; Tom and Lyn Weeks and their children, Zach, Libby and Ryan of Albuquerque; Jim and Lynn Weeks and their children, Michael and Kimmy of Sandia Park; and John and Donna Weeks and their children, Lauren, Georgia and Christopher of Denton, TX. Pat is also survived by her sisters, Peg Rinaldi of Tulsa, OK, Lee Witt of Santa Fe; her brother, Michael Hussey of Sarasota, FL; along with six nieces and nephews. Pat was born and raised in Waukegan, IL and attended Iowa State College in Ames, IA where she met her future husband, Bill Weeks. They were married in 1952 and moved to Albuquerque in 1956 where Bill eventually became the head football coach for the UNM Lobos. Pat retired from the Albuquerque Public School system where she taught home economics for many years. She was active in the Albuquerque community with her volunteer work at The Blue Portal through the Assistance League of Albuquerque. She was also a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority Alumni Association and was a frequent volunteer at Prince of Peace Catholic Community as well as St. Vincent de Paul. She also performed many random acts of kindness, never saying no to anyone who asked for her help. Pat was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and a wonderful sister. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 26, 2012, 6:00 p.m., at French - Wyoming Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 27, 2012, 10:00 a.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE. WING -- DIANA (DOROTHY) Entered into everlasting peace on July 20, 2012. She was born on May 9, 1925, in Wolverhampton, England. She was a member of the Women's Royal Naval Service and trained in the field of radiography at the Royal Hospital. She traveled to many interesting places while in the service such as India and Sri Lanka. Diana also lived in Canada and then came to New Mexico in the early 1950's. She worked many years at the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Hospital and Van Atta Labs where she made many lifelong friends. Diana returned to school in the 1970's and received a BS degree in Home Economics from UNM. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Eliza Henderson; husband William Wing; and her dear sister Stella. She is survived by her step-son Daniel Wing; grandson Will Wing and wife Traci; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Tanner and Rylee. She also is survived by her god-children Jamie Sobien, Mary Harrison, Joy Hayward and many friends near and far. She was a woman of grand intellect who enjoyed deep and lively conversations. She played golf with ABQ Women's Golf Club and loved attending the opera and concerts and with her husband Bill and friends. She enjoyed gardening (especially flowers) and fine dining. Her spirit lives on through those whose life she touched. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 27th at 3:30pm at the Cathedral of St. John (4th and Silver).

WOODS -- ROBERT OWEN 8/28/47 - 7/21/12 Bob, Beefy, The Captain set sail for his next adventure after a battle with lymphoma. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barby; son George and his wife Sonya. He is also survived by his siblings Dennis Woods (Jane), Ruthann Woods, Howard Woods (Diane), Maribeth Laime (Ben) and Helen Madrid (Roger); as well as his brother-in-law Hank Hearon (Benanne). Being from a very large family, Bob is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob leaves behind the Blue Room family, many friends and the dog he never wanted but couldn't be without, Martha. His life celebration (vacation attire only) will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012,1:00 at French Funerals and Cremations, Lomas Chapel.
