ALVAREZ -- MARY Age 64, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, April 23, 2012, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on May 10, 1947, to Maria Alvarez. A resident of the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area since 1978, she worked for many years as a Medical Technician at Lovelace Medical Center. She will be remembered for her very gracious personality who was loved by so many. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, sewing, crocheting and making many beautiful items. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Alvarez, and her stepfather, Jesus Bustamante. Ms. Alvarez is survived by her children, Manuel Gavaldon and his wife, Shica, of Wichita Falls, TX, Ernst Gavaldon and his partner, Christopher Million, of Albuquerque, NM, Tommy Gavaldon of Albuquerque, NM, Christopher Gavaldon of Rio Rancho, NM, and Nannette Thompson and her husband, Wes, of Rio Rancho, NM, and Xavier Gomez of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Samantha Thompson, Veronica Thompson, Damian Thompson, Elijah Gavaldon, and Antonio Gavaldon, Chryssiess Kimble, and Xavier Gomez, Jr.; a brother, Jerry Alvarez, and his wife, Tillie, of Utah; a very special cousin, Maria-Inez Ferrales; and former husband and close friend, Candelario Gavaldon. BROWN -- SALLY Died at home as the full moon rose on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Writer, teacher, friend and beloved family member. Born Sarah G. Warner on Sunday, December 21, 1919, she was the oldest of three children. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor's in Journalism. She married Robert A. Brown on August 26, 1941 and together they were the parents of six children, five of whom grew to adulthood. They lived in Missouri and Arkansas prior to moving to Santa Fe in 1949. In 1953, they moved to Albuquerque and joined La Mesa Presbyterian Church in 1954. As a mother, she was active in the education of her children taking pride as each earned a college degree. As a volunteer tutor, she touched the lives of many children. She and Bob opened their home to several Navajo children and she maintained her connection with Sarah Leon, her Navajo daughter. She received her Masters in Early Childhood Education at the age of 55. She took great joy in her years spent teaching at St. Mark's in the Valley. Following the death of her husband in 1983, she devoted a year compiling the letters they exchanged during World War II and sharing these cherished memories with her children. She traveled extensively, learning about and experiencing many diverse cultures. In 1998 she completed a history of her father, Seth LeMoyne Warner. In 2004, she published Agnes Brustad Warner Teacher, Wife, Mother Family History Memoir. She was an active member in a book club, enjoyed scrabble and working crossword puzzles and walked daily until the age of 92. In addition to her husband and infant son, Gregory Brown, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott J. Brown and his wife, Teri. She is survived by her daughters: Nikolyn McDonald and husband David; Kathleen Polage and husband Gary; Susan Haywood and husband Tom; and Mary Beth McGonagle and husband Ed. Ten grandchildren learned the love of books from her: Warner Myers, Robert McDonald, Chris Polage, Amy Polage, Sarah Haywood, Ryan Haywood, Shelby Brown, Jeremy Brown, Carrie M. Perry and Kathryn McKee. Four great- grandchildren joined her life late in the game and she treasured each one: Sabrina and Lauren Polage, Elliot Perry and Tessa Jean Myers. In addition, she is survived by her sister Elizabeth Ingell of Jackson, MI and brother Seth L. Warner of Durham, NC. Her nieces and nephews recall with affection her ability to send just the right book to their children over the years. She found exceptional joy in her church family. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 28th, 10:30 a.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper N.E., Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87108. CANDELARIA -- LAURA L. To Our Beloved Mother, Laura L. Candelaria - It is so hard to believe that one year has passed already. In our minds it seems like yesterday, in our hearts an eternity. DELAO -- ARTHUR Age 89, died of a broken heart on April 20, 2012, three weeks after losing his beloved wife Theresa. They were married for sixty five years. He is survived by his children Arthur Jr. and wife Zayda, Theresa DeLaO, Mike DeLaO and wife Anna, Veronica Chavez and husband Mike; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Arthur was raised at the St. Anthony's Orphanage as a child along with his brothers. In his youth he joined the CCC Camps and then proudly served in the U S Army during WWII. After his service in the military he studied at St. Joseph's College and later worked for the U S Post Office until he retired. Arthur loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was an avid bowler and loved the Lakers. Arthur was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a humble man and appreciated the simple things in life. DIXON -- MARGERY MYERS Passed away early on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Wife to one, mother of four, grandmother to eight, aunt to twelve, sister to three, cousin to many, volunteer and friend to countless. She is already missed. Margery was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George L. Dixon, Jr. Margery is survived by her four children, Wes Dixon and his wife Karen of Leawood, Kansas, Martha Lange and her husband Mark of Granger, Indiana, Jennifer Hamilton and her husband David of Morgan Hill, California, and Amy Dixon of Albuquerque. She has eight grandchildren, Kate, Liz, Brian, Sarah, Megan, John, Jonathan, and Lynda. Margery was born in Colorado Springs in 1930 but the family soon moved to Kansas where she and her three brothers were raised on a dry land 160 acre farm growing corn and beans. A hard but good life. She graduated from Garnett High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas and was working at the University of Iowa where she met George. They married and he enlisted to take his medical residency in the U.S. Army. Over the next eleven years she and George saw the world and built a wonderful family with four children, three dogs and a parakeet. In 1966 they all settled in Albuquerque. Margery was always active in her church. For many years she was honored to serve in the ministry of Altar Guild. She also became very involved with All Faiths Receiving Home. She was an avid gardener and world traveler (always with George). She loved all kinds of music and opera and singing in the choir. The memorial service celebrating her life will be held at The Cathedral Church of St. John, at 3rd and Silver, on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10:30 in the morning. DURAN -- THERESSE L."TERRY" CROOK CASTILLO LOPEZ Born April 12, 1943 in Old Town Albuq, NM. Terry was called home to heaven by our Heavenly Father and Jesus on April 2, 2012, as she was a devoted child of Christ. She previously resided in Tulsa and was a resident of Holdenville, OK. at time of passing. Terry was preceded in death by her parents Alfred L. Duran Sr. and Laura E. Castillo Duran Chavez, and son, Mark L. Crook. Terry is survived by children, Susan E Penney of OKC, OK, Andrea E Durham Davis of Farmers Branch, TX, Kent D Crook and wife Tania and grandchildren Brian, Ashley, Jimmy, and Kaysi of Miami, FL, Jace A Castillo and wife Pauline and grandson J. Aaron II, Juan D Castillo and Bernice and grandson JD Jr., Peter M Lopez; brother, Al L "Sonny" Duran Jr., all of Albuq. NM; sister, Margret Geraldine "Geri" Duran of Holdenville, OK; many loving family and friends all over God's creation. Terry was a very caring, loving and passionate mother, grandmother, friend and all other titles included. She loved to see anything beautiful. She was an entrepreneur, an antiques collector and dealer, a beautician and volunteered when she could among many other endeavors. She was also active in politics and loved the Inaugural Balls, rallies and all functions, especially her dear friends, NM. State Treasurer James B. Lewis and late wife Armandie. ELKINS -- RICHARD E. "DICK" Age 84, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 21, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Agnes C. Elkins of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Kathleen E Coleman and husband, James, of Hockessin, DE; sons, Thomas E Elkins and wife, Teresa of Durango, Mexico, and Daniel R Elkins and wife, Anne of Denver, CO; brother, William McIver Lamb of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Dan Coleman and wife, Barbie, John Coleman and wife, Katie, Lucas Elkins, Andrew Elkins, Kara Lockwood and husband Alex, and Simon Elkins; great-granddaughter, Haley Jane Coleman; many other family and friends. GALLEGOS -- SENOVIO ALBERTO Age 72, entered the pearly gates of Heaven on Sunday, April 22nd after a lengthy illness and he was surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 23, 1939 in Raton, NM. A 1959 graduate from Raton High School, he was a 27 year veteran which included the US Air force and US Army Reserves. Upon his discharge from the US Air force, he married Nettie Valdez, wife of 47 years. They were blessed with three children, Alberta Jean, the late Michael Anthony, and Brenda Adelina Gallegos. He then continued 23 years of military service in the Army Reserves. He is survived by his wife Nettie Gallegos; children, Alberta and husband Keith Salazar, Brenda and daughter-in-law, Barbara; seven grandchildren, Felicia, Veronica, Eric, Andrew, Albert, Elexus and Breannen; two great-grandchildren, Michelle and Angelina; brother, Larry Gallegos; sisters, Grace and husband Lazaro Martinez, Rosie and husband Frank Sandoval and Lorraine Hyer, all from Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Carol Gallegos; brothers-in-law, Charles and wife Isabel Gonzales from Raton, NM, and Tom and Johanna Gonzales from Alamogordo, NM; and several nieces, nephews and friends. GREENFIELD -- ANN MARIE Was born in Saranac Lake, New York, two days after Christmas, 1928. She was the eldest of five children and only daughter of Elmer and Kathryn Brown. She grew up in Saranac Lake, attended secretarial college downstate and was working in the Washington, D.C. area when she met Harry F. Ware of that city. They married in 1953; together they made homes and circles friends in Washington, Cheverly, MD, Lincoln, NE and Albuquerque. This marriage produced two sons: Daniel and David. In 1994 Ann was widowed but 2004 married Paul Greenfield, a longtime friend, and the two made each other very happy. Ann re-entered the workforce late in life, working as a preparer, then office manager for H&R Block. After retiring from Block, Ann served as a volunteer tax preparer and volunteered at the Lovelace Westside Hospital. Ann traveled many places but loved family, friends and home best of all. Raised in the Presbyterian faith, she later joined the Catholic Church and remained a believer. She died on April 18 after some weeks of declining health. Ann died at home, with her husband near and by a window through which she could see a patch of the New Mexico sky she so loved. Ann is survived by husband, Paul V. Greenfield; brother, James Brown and wife Lois; sons, David Ware and wife, Marlene, Dan Ware and wife, Elizabeth; step-children, Pat and husband, Andrew D. West, Paul V. HENSLEY -- LISA A. Age 56, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was a loving wife, mother and friend and a woman full of life and happiness. She is survived by her children, Brandon Hensley and wife, Nova, and Kristeena Romero; four grandchildren; and brother, David Houk. She was a successful business owner, talented musician, avid antiquer, bird enthusiast and was an excellent teacher who loved to entertain. HERNANDEZ -- VICTORIA "VICKY" Age 86, of Albuquerque passed away Monday, April 23, 2012. Vicky was the youngest of six children born to Jose Hernandez and Basilia Olaiz in Philadelphia, PA. Victoria's family moved from Philadelphia to El Paso, TX. In time for her to start school in El Paso. Victoria continued to live in El Paso for the next seventy years before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico to join her son for the remainder of her years. Her son, Alejandro Hernandez and her two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica and her great-grandchildren, who live in Texas, survive Victoria. Victoria was blessed to have true friends who enriched her life with their friendship in both good and bad times. Victoria was the life of the party and was often heard saying, "Uh la la" as she danced the night away. During times of rain or snow she exclaimed; "Let it snow, Let it snow" or "Let it rain, Let it rain". JANSSEN -- GEORGE EVERET Age 85, beloved husband, father and grandfather was embraced by the Lord and taken to his heavenly home on April 24, 2012. George was born on July 4, 1926 in Madison, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He was a history teacher at McKinley Junior High School and Cleveland Junior High School where he retired after 29 years with Albuquerque Public Schools. George served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman during World War II in 1944. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jean Smith. George is survived by loving wife, Helen Janssen; his son, Mike Janssen and wife Linda of Grand Prairie, TX; his daughter, Sandy Cook and husband Philip of Fort Worth, TX; and son Mark Janssen of Albuquerque. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Laurel Cook of San Francisco, CA and Alexandra Cook of Savannah, GA; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins and a host of friends. MONTOYA -- GEORGE Was born February 8, 1924 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the age of 88. George proudly and honorably served in the US Army, in the Pacific Theater during WWII, and as a Paratrooper with the 503rd. He worked as a window glazier. RIEDL -- JOYCE MARIE Passed from this world on April 22, 2012 surrounded by the love of her family after a long fight with pulmonary fibrosis. Born March 18, 1940 in Worcester MA, she was preceded in death by her ten siblings. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Louis James; her children, Lance Jason and his spouse Rebecca and their four children, Penelope Ann and her three children, Louis James III and his two children and Terri Lynn Waychoff, and her spouse Patrick and three children; as well as nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. As the wife of a 33-year career Air Force NCO, she and her family set up housing in Kansas, Massachusetts, Indiana, California, New York, South Dakota as well as overseas assignments in Germany, Turkey and Guam. She was very active in Squadron and NCO Wives Clubs. She made friends everywhere she went. She could speak three languages; English, French and German. She loved cooking, was an avid reader, and managed moving our family and raising our four children traveling all over the world, instilling within them the qualities of strong moral character, honor and commitment to family and her belief in "No Guts, No Glory" to inspire each to soar. This is the legacy she's passed on-Touching everyone she's ever met with her grace and acceptance and passing many of these qualities on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1988, she and her husband Louis retired to New Mexico. ROBINETTE -- DEAN M. SR. Age 86, passed away April 6, 2012, in Las Vegas, NV. He was born to Elmer I Robinette and Wilmyrth Layton Robinette on August 19, 1925, in Claypool, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Stella of 62 years, of Albuquerque; son, Dean M Robinette, Jr. (Rob) and wife Colette; and daughter, Pamela Sue Currans, both of Albuquerque; brothers, Marden and wife Norma, Larry and wife Joan; sister, Angela Whateley and husband Henry; five grandchildren, Serina, Shawn, James, Kayleigh, and Madison; two great-grandchildren; six nieces and one nephew. He accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 17 and attended First Baptist Church where he and Stella met. He attended Albuquerque High School and the University of NM. He served in the US Army Signal Corps stationed in Germany during WWII and in the Korean Conflict. He was engaged in real estate and construction in Albuquerque and in Pahrump, NV, the past serval years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer and Bryon; and one sister, Martelle Pope. A graveside memorial service will be held April 28, 2012, at 10:30 am, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuq., NM.

ROMERO -- LILLIAN B. Age 72, passed away at her Albuquerque home on Sunday, April 22, 2012. She was born on October 6, 1939 in Taos, NM. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Cecilia Cruz of Taos; her sibling Ralph Cruz. She is survived by her husband Thomas Romero; son Randy Romero and wife Paulette; grandchildren Randy and Alyssa Romero; brothers Raymond Cruz, Richard Cruz, Steve Cruz; sisters Dorothy Abbott, Joann Chester, Martha Herrera, Kathy Garcia, Elaine Cisneros, Debbie Apodaca, Peggy Green; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, and their families. Lillian Graduated from Valley High school in 1959 and also served in the U.S. Marine Corp. She held many positions in the financial industry. Her favorite pass times were taking care of her grandchildren Randy and Alyssa and playing Bingo. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 7:00pm at Daniels Funeral, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. Mass will be celebrated at Our lady of Assumption Catholic church, Tennessee and Lomas, Friday, April 27th at 1:30pm. SANCHEZ -- CLEMIE F. A resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012. He was President/CEO of Sabroso Foods Inc. for the past 25 years. Clemie is survived by his beloved wife Rosemary G. Sanchez; sister, Adelaida Sanchez; brother, David Sanchez and wife, Armida; brother, Lucky Sanchez and wife, Lynn; brother, Ivan Sanchez; brother, Pete Sanchez Jr.; sister, Rita Andrews; brother, Tony Sanchez and wife, Nancy; brother, Orlando Sanchez; sister, Bernice Sanchez; brother, Bobby Joe Sanchez and wife, Corrine; and many nephews, nieces, family and friends. Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his son, Franklin C Sanchez and his parents, Pedro and Cecelia Sanchez. He served in the Air National Guard and was honorably discharged. Clemie was an avid horseman and dearly loved his wife and family. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 7:00 pm at French Westside. The Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012, 10:00 am also at French with interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery. TAPIA -- DONACIANO (DON) Age 90, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on April 24, 2012, with his loving family at his side. Mr. Tapia is survived by his children, Mary Lou Martinez and husband, Nemesio, Bernie Tapia Sr. and wife, Suzanne, Patricia Rivera and husband, Ray, Leroy Tapia and girlfriend, Emily, and Michael Tapia and wife, Cindy; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; and eighteen great-great grandchildren.
