RIEDL -- JOYCE MARIE Passed from this world on April 22, 2012 surrounded by the love of her family after a long fight with pulmonary fibrosis. Born March 18, 1940 in Worcester MA, she was preceded in death by her ten siblings. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Louis James; her children, Lance Jason and his spouse Rebecca and their four children, Penelope Ann and her three children, Louis James III and his two children and Terri Lynn Waychoff, and her spouse Patrick and three children; as well as nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. As the wife of a 33-year career Air Force NCO, she and her family set up housing in Kansas, Massachusetts, Indiana, California, New York, South Dakota as well as overseas assignments in Germany, Turkey and Guam. She was very active in Squadron and NCO Wives Clubs. She made friends everywhere she went. She could speak three languages; English, French and German. She loved cooking, was an avid reader, and managed moving our family and raising our four children traveling all over the world, instilling within them the qualities of strong moral character, honor and commitment to family and her belief in "No Guts, No Glory" to inspire each to soar. This is the legacy she's passed on-Touching everyone she's ever met with her grace and acceptance and passing many of these qualities on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1988, she and her husband Louis retired to New Mexico. Services will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, April 27, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
