CORDOVA -- Bernard C. Cordova AKA "The Barber" age 47, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Connie Cordova. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Vaughn; his four daughters, Tausha Moseley and husband, Neil, Shealynn, D'aundra and Kendra Cordova and partner, Richard Padilla and five grandchildren; sisters, Rosemarie Cordova, Margaret Allen and husband, Stan; brothers, Eugene, Joseph and wife, Theresa; and many nieces and nephews. Bernard was a barber at Campus Barber Shop for 30 years and considered it his love and passion. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in his honor in the Glory Bound Building at Worldwide Worship Center by Pastor Stacy McDermott on Saturday, February 26, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at 11913 Menaul NE.

FERENZ -- Peter Eujin Ferenz, age 30, a resident of Albuquerque was born March 7, 1980 and passed away on February 16, 2011. He is survived by his wife Angelic; son Eujin; daughter Malika; step-sons; Richard and Nathan; mother Uhui Starcher and step-father Yugi Starcher; father Steve Ferenz; sister Angela Cardona and husband Joey; and nieces Chon-sa and LeiLani. Peter was a loving husband, father, son and friend. He attended Highland High School and was on the Highland High football team. Peter loved football and his favorite team was the Seattle Seahawks. Peter attended Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. His chosen profession was being a Chef. Peter loved to cook and loved to teach others how to cook. Peter was a strong inspiration and had a strong faith in God. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, February 25, 2011, at Restoration Ministries Church, 824 San Mateo SE ABQ, NM.

FISCHER -- Andrew "Andy" J. Fischer, Jr., 86, a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maria; children Drew Fischer and wife, Jennifer and Karen Fischer and husband, John Tritica, all of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Lucas Tritica, Natalia Tritica and Samuel Fischer; brother, Martin Fischer and wife, Carlotta of Albuquerque; sister, Marion Schiewe of Festus, MO; and other relatives and friends. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Emilie Fischer. He was born on July 28, 1924 in Virden, IL and graduated from Mt. Olive High School. Andy then went into the United States Navy where he proudly served during WWII. In the early 50's he moved to Carlsbad, NM and began working in the potash mines as a mechanic and hoistman until his retirement in 1986. Andy married Maria Martinez in 1958 and they were active in the Knights of Columbus which he joined in 1956 and St. Edwards Parish Community where he was honored as a Fourth Degree Knight. Upon moving to Albuquerque, Andy became active in the Risen Savior Catholic Community and the Knights of Columbus, Risen Savior Council #8741. Andy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. GARCIA -- Paul D. Garcia, 46, died February 20, 2011 at his home in Edgewood, New Mexico after a two-year battle with cancer. He was born September 5, 1964 in Albuquerque to Nash and Donna Garcia and grew up in Albuquerque and Fairfield, Ohio. After serving in the United States Navy Paul returned to Albuquerque and was employed at the General Electric Plant until his illness. To survive the numerous layoffs from GE he started Mountain Valley Fence and will be remembered for the many steel buildings and fences he built throughout the East Mountains and greater Albuquerque area. In addition to his parents, Paul is survived by his wife Lorie Garcia of Edgewood; daughters Kristine Garcia and fiance Jason Radcliff of Albuquerque, and Kathryn Garcia and partner Laurence Mirabal of Albuquerque; granddaughter Madeleine Radcliff of Albuquerque; and brother Michael Garcia and wife Lisa and their son Irvin of Edgewood. He will be missed by all of us but we know he had to get there first to start setting up the great fireworks displays. Light up the skies Paul! GREEN -- Herbert. On July 4, 1930 a baby boy was born to the late Rev. Phillip and Mary Walton Green. He departed this life on February 14, 2011. He was the sixth child of 12 children born into this family of which eight preceded him in death. Upon confession of his faith in Jesus Christ Herbert joined the First Missionary Baptist Church of Uniontown, Alabama. He received his formal education from Perry County Training School. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Army where he served his country proudly in the Korean War. After completing a tour of duty in Korea he relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he established his resident to advance his education he enrolled at the University of Albuquerque. While attending the University he met and fell in love with Gregory Boone and soon after was united in marriage. His career as a communication specialist for Mountain Bell Telephone Co. expanded over a period of some 28 plus years. His love for God and his strong Christian background eventually led him to unite himself with the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member and served on various auxiliaries and boards including that of a Deacon he served faithfully until his passing. Herbert is a 33 Mason and was a member of Cyrene Lodge #844. Herbert was a man of Commitment very proud and loved his family above all else, often stood in as a father to his many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gregory Boone; one daughter, Lynn Cherry Green; five brothers, Johnnie, Phillip, Clearence, Bernard Green; three sisters, Laurelia Thompson, Regina Green and Julia Hunter. Those left to cherish his treasured memories, one son, Herbert Pierce Green of Germany; one grandson, Herbert Daniell Green of Berlin Germany; one granddaughter, Lessalena Johnson of Arizona; two brothers, Robert (Ethel) Green of Birmingham, Alabama, Donald (Janic) Green of Uniontown, Alabama; one sister, Bertha (Simmie) Williams, of Falls burg, NY; 13nieces; seven nephews and a host of cousins relatives and dear friends. GRIGGS -- Edward Allen Griggs was born on May 5, 1927, in Wildorado, Texas to Ann Birdie and Arthur Griggs, a ranching family. He was the youngest of seven children, and grew up in the depression and dust bowl era. Allen went to work as a driver for Navajo Freight Lines in 1946 until he was called upon to serve his country in Korea. In 1964 he left Navajo and went to work for Teamsters Local 492 as a business agent. He spent three years in Phoenix as an Organizer and returned to Albuquerque where he spent the last three years of his career as Secretary-Treasurer for Local 492. His Irish eyes sparkled with humor, and he had many good friends. He was a warm, generous man who enjoyed life. Allen used his GI Bill to take flying lessons and eventually became an instructor. He had five daughters, Shirley, Nina, Eleanor, Julia and Marilyn. He met and married Mickie Herbert in 1967. They enjoyed a good marriage for 43 years until his death. He loved horses and was a team roper earlier in life. He trained and showed dogs in obedience, field and breed ring. He graduated from American Technical Institute with a degree in electrical engineering. He was deeply loved by friends and family and will very much be missed. Sleep well, Allen dearest. HAMILTON -- Henrietta Ludvina Hamilton, 95, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the comfort of her daughter's home in Sandia Park. She was born December 2, 1915 in St. Wendel, MN to Anastasia and Stephen Rudolph. She was preceded in death by her parents, several sisters and brothers and husband, Alfred L. Hamilton. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Hillmeyer and husband, Bill; four grandchildren, Tami Truby and husband. Rick, Mark Hillmeyer and wife, Susan, Debbie Murphey and husband, Victor, Billy Hillmeyer and wife, Jennifer; 11 great-grandchildren, Jessi, Danielle, Staci, Christopher, Michelle, Becki, Eric, Jocelyn, Aubrey, T.J. and Cameron; one great-great-grandson, Colton, sister, Mary Bentley, CO, brother, Victor Rudolph, TX and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kackley, AZ as well as many loving nieces and nephews. HEPLER -- Gary Elry Hepler, age 64, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 20. He was the vice president of the Shadow Riders Motorcycle Club and a member of NNMRO, COC and the U.S. Defenders. Gary was a loving grandfather,step-father, great-grandfather, brother, son and friend. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 to 1970 and received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Gary was very proud of his service to our country. Gary loved to fish and hunt and was a very devoted grandfather. He taught all his grandchildren how to fish, how to hunt, how to plant gardens, how to cook, how to drive, how to be honest and responsible, and how important charity work is to our community. In short, Gary taught us all how to be the best possible versions of ourselves. He was a very devoted man to his charity work in Valencia County. Gary loved to ride his Harley and helped many ladies learn to ride. He was known to the biker community as Candyman and he always had candy for the girls and kids. Gary was a true hero and fighter. He fought his cancer until the time he peacefully passed away. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Ersal Elry Hepler. HOWE -- Gary L. Howe, a resident of Sandia Park, NM passed away unexpectedly February 19, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cathy. Two sons he loved and respected, a daughter-in-law he loved as a daughter, Brian, Robyn and Jeff Howe. His two grandchildren, Malia and Aidan Howe who were the light of his light of his life. He was born and raised in Rochester, WI; to all in WI he was known as George. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth J. and Eloise Albright Howe. He is survived by his sisters, Judy (Jim) Oestrich, Betty (Jerry) Heberling, Bonnie (Fermin) Garcia, and Patti (Rick) Thole. He had a special place in his heart for all of Cathys family; and many loved nieces and nephews. Gary came to NM to attend UNM graduating in 1970 with an EE degree. He went to work for Motorola Communications in 1974, then transferred and lived in HI for 5 years. He was deeply committed and loyal to the company and to his many Motorolans and customers he was privileged to know. Retiring from Motorola after 32 years he spent the next 5 years with Pro2Serve enjoying his colleagues and customers there. Gary was an accomplished musician singing and also playing instruments including keyboards and the accordion. Throughout the years he has been in numerous local bands, his most recent being 8Track and Bad Katz Blues. Gary so much enjoyed each band member. He loved playing and singing hymns, especially at The Barn church. He had numerous hobbies including riding his Harley with his buddies, Ham Radio, being out in nature with his gun by his side, video games, taking his grandchildren on four-wheeler rides and of course keeping up with the latest gadgets. Many will remember his special passion setting up his trains at Christmas. Gary was a man of faith. He lived out his faith humbly sometimes with words, always with deed and always with a melody and joy for Our Lord in his heart. We all will miss him, his smile and his love for life. He was special to many people no one will miss him more than his family. Service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at French - Lomas. He was born to John and Virginia Laughlin on November 18, 1940. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Mary Laughlin; their children, one son, Robert M. LE'MON -- Frances D. Le'Mon 85, loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 20th, 2011 while surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Pedro and Maria Lopez, born in Miami, NM on November 6th, 1925. She is survived by her youngest brother, Eddie Lopez, and wife Theresa, of San Jacinto CA; daughter, Anna Cordero and husband Anthony; son, Peter La'Mon and wife Christina; and son Patrick Le'Mon; grandchildren: Rey Vargas, Angelique Ruiz, Joseph and Joanna Cordero, Erika and Frank Olivas, Derek, Thomas, Taryn and Michael La'Mon; ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Frances enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren in New Mexico while spending her summers on the east coast with her grandchildren who reside out of state. LOPEZ -- Victor J. Lopez, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. He was surrounded by those who loved him. Victor was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Victor was born April 8, 1928 in Magdalena, NM. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lilly; grandson Derek Lopez; great-granddaughter Celeste Holjencin; three brothers; and four sisters. PHELPS -- Florence Phelps will be laid to rest February 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe NM. She had lived in Albuquerque since 1952 when her husband Joe was assigned to Kirkland AFB. She worked in the Albuquerque Public School system over 20 years and is survived by two children, Joe and Loretta. Florence had many friends in the area and all are welcome to attend the short ceremony at the National Cemetery. She was a great lover of animals and in lieu of flowers please give a small donation to an animal shelter of your choice.

SILVA -- Lily Silva, age 92, formerly a resident of Belen, peacefully went to the Lord Tuesday February 22, 2011 at her home in Albuquerque surrounded by her children, grandchildren and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nat G. Silva and daughter, Yvonne with child. Lily is survived by children, Frieda Worrall and husband Jerry of Albuquerque, Jo Baca and husband Frank of Yorba Linda, CA, Delbert Silva and wife Cathy of Albuquerque; grandchildren Mark Sachs of Albuquerque, Jeanine Sachs of Poway, CA, Henry Sachs and wife Stephanie of Orange, CA, Jeff Sachs and wife Judy of Albuquerque, Eric Sachs and wife Solange of San Diego, CA, Jennifer Sheets and husband Jeff of Costa Mesa, CA, Leslie Acevedo and husband Michael of Yorba Linda, CA, Tracy Warman and husband Brian of Anaheim Hills, CA, Pamela Bennett and husband Thad of Orange Hills, CA, Kevin Silva and wife Karen of San Clemente, CA, Kelly Thomas & husband Edward of Albuquerque, Justin Silva of Albuquerque; and 23 great-grandchildren. SIMMONS -- Audrey Casey Simmons, 89, long time resident of Albuquerque, born May 25, 1921 in Yantis, TX, died on February 20, 2011 at her home with family by her side. She is survived by her children, Eileen Casey Cook, Janet Stoumbos, Craig Harrison Casey and wife Pamela, and Keith Wayne Casey and wife Dorothy; step-children, Joyce Aker and husband Marlin, Malissa Golf and husband Gary, Neil Simmons and wife Christie, and daughter in spirit, Angie Sanchez Carder; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members. Audrey was preceded in death by two husbands Kenneth Craig Casey and Henry C. Simmons, and by grandson, Sean Cordova. Audrey was born the youngest of 6 daughters to C.H. and Callie Slatten. She always talked of her fond memories of growing up on the family farm in East Texas. She attended East Texas State in Commerce, TX and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Audrey started her teaching career in Winsboro, TX. She married Kenneth in 1944 and they later moved to Albuquerque where he was stationed at KAFB. Audrey retired from Albuquerque Public Schools in 1978 after many years of service including her time teaching at both Madison and McKinley Junior High Schools. In her "golden years" she married long time family friend Henry Simmons. They resided in Estancia, NM until his death in 1993. Audrey was very active in Netherwood Park Church of Christ and she considered her fellow church members to be family. She was known for her gentle and caring demeanor, and her beautiful smile was her trademark - a smile that will be missed by all. SORMANI -- Joseph Sormani, 96, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Mr. Sormani, known to all his friends as "Buster" was born in New York City on March 24, 1914 to Valentino and Rose (Dillon) Sormani. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and was an avid baseball player in his youth. He proudly served in the US Army, during which time he met Virginia Pamplin. They were married on August 8, 1948. Virginia predeceased him on April 1, 2005. Mr. Sormani had a way about him that instantly put others at ease and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor. Mr. Sormani would regularly be seen buying ice cream for the neighborhood kids from the ice cream truck and those relationships have endured over the decades. He was a witty and gifted storyteller and could captivate people of all ages with his jokes and stories of everyday happenings. Whether with colleagues from CBS where he worked for 38 years or with his great-grandchildren, Mr. Sormani could always make people laugh. Mr. Sormani was an enthusiastic sports buff and lifelong New York Yankees fan. He and his wife, Virginia, enjoyed entertaining in their home as well as going out dancing to Big Band music. Mr. Sormani did not limit his affection to people; he loved animals and rescued many dogs over the years. Mr. Sormani was a true gentleman who is deeply missed and will forever be remembered. He is survived by his daughter, Libby Nestler and her husband, Kenneth, of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Kate Hagan and her husband, Bill, of Rio Rancho, NM, Kenneth G. Nestler, of New Paltz, NY and Heidi Nestler and her husband, Daisuke Fukushima of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, Kristofer Blevins, Marissa McAfee, Michael, Brittany and Faith Hagan, and Ranmu and Joi Fukushima,; great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Austin, Delayna and Kaitlyn Blevins; sister, Marie Quinn; and nieces and nephews, Robert Razzetti, Ann Fey, Rosemary Quinn, Marie Calderoni, Robert Sormani, and Laura Donovan. TANKERSLEY -- Earl Lynn Tankersley, 71, passed away February 15, 2011 at the Rosedale Gardens Care Home surrounded by his devoted family and caregivers. Earl was born in Roswell, NM as the youngest son to L.E. and Lucille Tankersley. He graduated from Roswell High School where he was known as an outstanding student and a local football star. Earl attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruses, NM and graduated with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, Earl served in the US Army at the White Sands Missile Range. Earl worked as a Civil Engineer at SRP, Franzoy-Corey and in between he started an IT Software Development company with Gary Ijams and Mike Vyne called Southwest Analytical System Inc. In his spare time, Earl volunteered as a Big Brother, coached his children's sports teams, participated in toastmasters, served on the Sunnyslope Village Revitalization committee and was very active at his church, Unity of Phoenix. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in the late 90's, Earl continued to volunteer for many years at the John C. Lincoln Desert Mission food bank. He leaves his beloved wife of 45 years, Cathee; his son, Todd and his wife, Christina; his daughter, Jaime; and two grandsons, Trevor and Connor, all of Phoenix. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Tankersley and his wife, Nancy; his sister, Martha Hogsett and her husband, Ted Hogsett of Albuquerque, NM; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sat, February 26, 2011 at 3:00 p.m., at Unity of Phoenix Church: 1500 E. Greenway Pkwy in Phoenix. VILLIARD -- Christine M. Villiard, 75, a resident of Edgewood since 2004, died Monday, February 21, 2011. She is survived by her spouse, Craig Villiard, of Edgewood; children Mark Chaffin and wife, Amy of Orange County, CA; grandchildren Ashley and Cassidy. Christine was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked in the Real Estate escrow business for over 30 years and was well-known and respected in her area of expertise in both the Albuquerque and Southern California areas. She was an independent and strong woman who remained active and dedicated to her family throughout her life. She enjoyed her adventures with her grandchildren and often reflected on her experiences traveling with them around the country in her RV. She was an inspiration to all of us and has left a long lasting impression. She will be missed by all of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Our fond memories of our time together will be forever cherished. Christine will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

She spent most of her life in Gardena, CA. Kathleen moved to Albuquerque in 2005 with her son Donald and wife, Jane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Williams, daughter, Beverly Lewis and her sister, Dorothy Yates. She is survived by her son, Donald Williams and wife, Jane; sister, Wanda Turner of California; brother-in-law, Cody Williams and his wife, Eula of California; son-in-law, Jerry Lewis and wife, Diane of Oregon; grandchildren Jim Williams and wife, Jennifer of Kansas, Debra Merchant and husband, Jack of Germany, Todd Lewis of Oregon, Dale Lewis and wife, Carrie of Oregon; great-grandchildren, Paige, Joel, Karli, Nathaniel, Krysti and Brandon; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
