Richard (Dick) A. Mares, 84, a life-long resident of Pena Blanca, NM passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011. Mr. Mares is survived by his wife of sixty years, Josie M. Mares; children, Arthur Mares and wife, Mary, Gilbert Mares and wife, Carmen, Richard M. Mares and wife, Jackie, Dennis Mares and wife, Rena, and John Mares; sisters, Edwina Mora, Alice Garcia, and Rose Baca; brother, Ray Mares and wife, Martha; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Mares was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Mares. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. , Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Pena Blanca, NM, with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. by Lorraine Ortiz. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at 11:00 a.m., Father Wayne Gibbeault, OFM, presider. Interment of cremains to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
