HOWE -- Gary L. Howe, a resident of Sandia Park, NM passed away unexpectedly February 19, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cathy. Two sons he loved and respected, a daughter-in-law he loved as a daughter, Brian, Robyn and Jeff Howe. His two grandchildren, Malia and Aidan Howe who were the light of his light of his life. He was born and raised in Rochester, WI; to all in WI he was known as George. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth J. and Eloise Albright Howe. He is survived by his sisters, Judy (Jim) Oestrich, Betty (Jerry) Heberling, Bonnie (Fermin) Garcia, and Patti (Rick) Thole. He had a special place in his heart for all of Cathys family; and many loved nieces and nephews. Gary came to NM to attend UNM graduating in 1970 with an EE degree. He went to work for Motorola Communications in 1974, then transferred and lived in HI for 5 years. He was deeply committed and loyal to the company and to his many Motorolans and customers he was privileged to know. Retiring from Motorola after 32 years he spent the next 5 years with Pro2Serve enjoying his colleagues and customers there. Gary was an accomplished musician singing and also playing instruments including keyboards and the accordion. Throughout the years he has been in numerous local bands, his most recent being 8Track and Bad Katz Blues. Gary so much enjoyed each band member. He loved playing and singing hymns, especially at The Barn church. He had numerous hobbies including riding his Harley with his buddies, Ham Radio, being out in nature with his gun by his side, video games, taking his grandchildren on four-wheeler rides and of course keeping up with the latest gadgets. Many will remember his special passion setting up his trains at Christmas. Gary was a man of faith. He lived out his faith humbly sometimes with words, always with deed and always with a melody and joy for Our Lord in his heart. We all will miss him, his smile and his love for life. He was special to many people no one will miss him more than his family. Service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at French - Lomas.
