ABEYTA -- Alex A., Jr., 76, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne of 52 years; daughter, Lisa and husband, Tim; daughter, Lucinda; and son, Alex III and wife, Anita. Nine grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Alex, Samantha, Alexis, Alyssa, Christopher, Addy and Avari. He was preceded in death by his son, Adrian and daughter, Stephanie. He was born in Socorro, NM to Remedios and Alex Abeyta Sr. on January 30, 1933. He graduated from Deming High School where he excelled in many sports. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in the Canal Zone at Albrook Air Force Base. He was a Bi-Lingual air traffic controller and instructor and was honorably discharged in 1959. He then enrolled at New Mexico Western College where he earned his Bachelor Degree. He continued his education at the University of Wyoming where he earned his Juris Doctor. He returned to Albuquerque where he started a successful family business with his lifelong friend and business partner Gordon Bernell. He was Bernalillo County Manager for 10 yrs., Bernalillo County Treasurer for four yr. term, and Deputy Treasurer for three yrs. He was currently working for the NM Governors Commission on Disability. He was loved and respected by many, many people and will be dearly missed. A viewing will be held at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. before the Rosary. Rosary will be recited Mon. January 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming NE. 505-821-1571.

BREITLING -- Shirl M. Breitling, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, since 1992, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Alice Bert, also of Albuquerque; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Emily Bert, of Fremont CA; his brother-in-law, Paul Bert, of Albany, OR; his cousin and her husband, Shirlene and Charles Brown, of Albuquerque; and numerous other cousins mostly residing in the Salt Lake City area. Dr. Breitling was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ernest Adolph Breitling and Mildred Morgan Breitling, of Salt Lake City, UT. He was a member of the Albuquerque Flute Association and Friends of Calligraphy. He is a past member of the Utah Orchid Society, Professional Ski Instructors Association, Alta Ski School, the American Chemical Society, Pastel Society of NM, and Escribiente. Dr. Breitling earned a Ph. D. in chemistry from the Univ. of Utah in 1969. He was post-doctoral fellow at the Univ. of Utah until 1973 and then an associate research professor at the Univ. of Pittsburgh until 1976. He worked at Chemical Systems Division in San Jose, CA, from 1978 to 1989; at the AF Rocket Lab at Edwards AFB, CA, until 1992; at AFRL at Kirtland AFB, NM, until 1999; then with Aero Thermo Technology until 2006 when he retired. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 12701 Indian School Rd., NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87112, in the Relief Society Room. BURNS -- Earl Roscoe Burns, 85, passed away at his home in Mountainair on December 29, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 9, 1924 in Tinnie, NM to Roscoe and Willie Clyde Burns. Earl proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Some of the happiest times of his life was camping, fishing, and playing dominoes. "Grandad" spent hours teaching his grandchildren and great grandchildren to play 42. Earl is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Leta Marie; daughter Kathy; son Kenny and wife Letha; grandchildren Steven and fiance Elizabeth, Travis and wife Anita; great-grandchildren Briana, Chaselyn and Matthew; sister Pearl Goar; brother: Raymond and wife June; and a large extended family. CHAVEZ -- Joseph Rudy Chavez. August 13,1951-December 28, 2009. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Joseph was a very loving, family oriented man who proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, and retired from the NMDOT. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Gurule and Jessie Chavez; and his father, Livi Abeyta. Joseph is survived by his wife of 20 years, Caroline Chavez; sons, Noel Chavez and Joseph Chavez; daughters, Nicole Chavez and Crystal Chavez; five grandchildren; mother, Jennie Abeyta; sisters, Marie and husband, Franklin Segura, Carol and husband, Ralph Anaya, Diana and husband, Billy Herrera, Della Chavez and Jim; and many nieces and nephews. DELUE -- Donna DeLue, 76, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on December 27, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Leonard; her son Leonard Jr.; daughters, Diana DeLue and Leslie Kibbie and her husband Mike. Donna is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Mike Kibbie Jr., Tracy Kibbie, Joe Kibbie and Bryan Kibbie; as well as her sister, Pat Carroll; and many nephews and nieces. She was born October 8, 1933, in Louisville, KY. Her father was a flight surgeon and hospital administrator in the Air Force, serving in many localities, and subsequently in private practice. Her mother, Denella was a homemaker. As a result, Donna attended many schools both in the United States and Tokyo, Japan. Her college years were spent at the University of Colorado. It was here that she pledged Chi Omega Sorority and was a continuous supporter of the Chi Omega Alumni Association both in Colorado and New Mexico. Donna was an avid skier and golfer. She was a long time member of Four Hills Country Club and Tanoan Country Club. In her younger days she managed to win the Fontinelle Club Championship in Bellevue, Nebraska (very lucky). She has also been active in many organizations including the Los Amapolis Garden Club, Albuquerque Symphony Guild, Assistance League of Albuquerque, Chi Omega Alumni, Red Hats, and was the director of the Arts and Crafts Fair of New Mexico at one time. In addition to many other activities, Donna was an inspiration as a wife, mother, and friend. She was an animal lover, who always kept the birdies fed in Sandia Heights. GAMMA -- James Gamma, 40, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife Jocelyn; two children, Reanna Baldwin and Ian Gamma; one granddaughter, Raylyn Gamma; his mother, Emma Gamma, and his sister, Melissa Magastadt. James was preceded in death by his father John Gamma. James will be remembered as a hardworking man who would do what was needed to provide for his family. Cremation has taken place. GONZALES -- Maximiliano Victor Gonzales passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 at the age of 78. He battled Alzheimers Disease for 6 years. He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on August 1st, 1931 to Victor Gonzales and Emilia Ortiz Gonzales. There, he went to school, delivered newspapers, delivered milk, and was a Boy Scout. The Gonzales' moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in February 1950. Later that year he joined the US Navy and served through 1954. He began working for Mountain Bell in 1955 and retired in February 1990. It was there that he met his wife of 51 years, Emilie M.Garcia Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Emilia. He is survived by his wife Emilie, son Tim Gonzales, son Chris Gonzales and his wife Denise, stepgrandson Mark Ozbun and his wife Cyndi and their daughters Taylor, Skylar, and Jayden. His surviving brothers are Arthur Gonzales, Gilbert Gonzales and his wife Marlene, and Victor Gonzales and his wife Jane. He will be missed by his immediate family and all of his nephews and nieces and friends. Max loved working for Ma Bell. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family very much. He was an avid fisherman and Lobo fan. He became a favorite of many at both Sterling Memory Care Center and Desert Hills Memory Care Center. We encourage donations to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. Services are to be determined and will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

HARBIN -- Patricia Alice Harbin, 87, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009. She is survived by her children, Diana Campisi and husband, Frank, of Houston, David Harbin and wife, Bonnie, Stephen Harbin and wife, Angie, Marilyn Adragna and husband, Frank, Kathleen Harbin of Houston, Lisa Harbin, who was also her beloved companion and caregiver, and Richard Harbin; her grandchildren, Rachel Honza, Scott Walker and wife, Impala, Patrick Harbin, Jennifer Price, Meredith Boles and husband, James, Heather Terry and husband, Keith, Shannon Adragna, Ryan Adragna, Teal Harbin, Sienna Harbin, and Jadyn Harbin; great-grandchildren, Damian Price, and Hudson and Everett Boles; brother-in-law, Joseph Muench and family; cousin, Becky Bradshaw and family; and her beloved cat, Gracie and dog, Maggie. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles Harbin, MD; and her sister, Cicily Muench. Patricia was born in Gallup, NM to Lucille and Horace Smith. She was raised in the mining town of Dawson, NM. She graduated from New Mexico Normal College (Highlands University) and followed in the family tradition as a teacher, before raising her seven children. After her family was raised, Patricia became an avid traveler, visiting Europe, Ireland and Canada, as well as the U.S. Her unconditional love will be missed by all who knew her. MARLOWE -- Robert Charles Marlowe, age 69, of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, Friday, December 25, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia; daughters, Wendy Green and husband Jay, Dawn Rodriguez; grandchildren, Marcus and Donovan Rodriguez, Jessica Green; great-granddaughter, JaeLynn Archuleta; sister, June Matt;and many nieces and nephews. He proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard for 22 years, where he attained the rank of Master Chief. After retirement, he continued in the telecommunications field until his final retirement. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandsons, working in his yard riding his lawnmower, and spending much of his time at Sandia Casino with his wife and many friends. Robert's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff at Presbyterian Hospital, first floor Oncology Unit for all of their loving care of our husband, father and PaPa. MCCANN -- Violet "Vi" McCann, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, passed away Monday, December 28, 2009. She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Richard "Dick" McCann; children Cynthia McCann, Richard McCann and wife Jamie, Jeffrey McCann and wife Anne, Deborah McCann, and Kathleen Lowe and husband Daniel; and grandchildren Jason Wolf and wife Sara, David Wolf, Logan O'Holleran, Ryan McCann, Emily Lowe, Makayla McCann, and Alexander Lowe. Mrs. McCann was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church. Vi was an award winning artist. She was a charter member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society and served twice as president of the New Mexico Chapter of the National League of American Pen Women. Mrs. McCann co-owned the Pinon Tree Gallery in Old Town. A service will be held, Saturday, January 2 at 10:00 am at French - University Chapel. MEECH -- Vera Nell Meech, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Meech Sr. She is survived by her son, Charles Meech; daughter, Cindy Meech; granddaughter, Samantha Tapia; grandson, Charles Tapia;, numerous other relatives and her loving family from the Stanley Union Church. Vera was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Vera was greatly loved by those who knew her and will be greatly missed. SANCEHZ -- Julia G. Sanchez born on January 20, 1935, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Julie; and two sisters, Lily and Mary. She is survived by one sister, Nellie; and Julia's nine children, Lorraine and family, Jimmy and family, Debbie and family, Isabelle and family, Rita and family, Frank and family, Danny and family, Manuel and family and Angela and family. SANDOVAL -- Aurelia Sandoval, 99, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009. She is survived by her children, Max Sandoval, Merlinda Rangel, Checko Pohl and husband, Gilbert, all of Albuquerque, Elda Najarro of San Diego, CA, Lola Madrid and husband, Andy of Sacramento, CA, Sam Sandoval and wife, Pefi of Blue Water, NM, and Jesse Sandoval of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joaquin Sandoval in 1982; a daughter, Rosarito Sandoval; and grandchildren, Diana Pohl and Kevin Sandoval. Aurelia was born in San Mateo, NM on March 1, 1910. She was one of three siblings. Her family was fortunate to have her for so long. She will be dearly missed. SATTERFIELD -- Vivianna S. Satterfield, 15, our precious angel, was called home to our Heavenly Father, on December 29, 2009. Vivianna was born on November 6, 1994 to Victor Najera and Victoria Satterfield of Albuquerque, NM. "Vivi" will be remembered for her outgoing and expressive personality, a smart and determined young girl, and for always wanting to help others before helping herself. Most importantly she will always be our loving daughter, sister, auntie, niece and friend. Vivi was preceded in death by her grandmother, Martha Anderson. She is survived by her mother, Victoria Blea and her husband, Ambrose; father, Victor Najera; sisters, Chantell Satterfield and her fiancee, Robbie Enostrosa, Sabrina Blea, and Selena Blea; nephews, Dominic and Elijiah Enostrosa; and many friends who love her and are missing her so much. A Viewing and Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Eagle Rock Worship Center, 7518 Oakland Ave. NE. Vivianna will then be laid to rest at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. SHEA -- Frank S. Shea Jr., age 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, passed away on December 25, 2009. Frank loved Classical, Mariachi and Gypsy Music, and he loved his two cats Molly and Maggie. He is survived by his wife of 18 years June Shea; two children, Patricia Latter and husband, John of Rio Rancho, and son Michael Shea and wife, Lisa of Albuquerque; two sisters, Nancy Shea of Edgewood and Ann Browne and husband, Jack of Connecticut.; one grandchild, Christopher Latter and wife, Lauren of Rio Rancho. WEST -- Nona Louise Shively West was born November 16, 1921 to Albert and Florence Thompson in Charleston, MO in Mississippi County and passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009. Nona was the last of a family of six children. She worked as a deputy county clerk and issued her own marriage license to William H. Shively. When WWII ended we moved to Michigan where she served as a clerk in Probate Court of Genessee County for three years. They moved to New Mexico in June of 1948, where they both worked at what is now Kirtland Base. Nona retired in November 1974, she and Hal enjoyed hunting and camping. She was preceded in death by Hal on July 23, 1984. After a very lonely life, Nona met and married Leonard C. West, April 12, 1985, he too has passed away. Nona is a member of San Marcial Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and Albuquerque's First Baptist Church. She is survived by one nephew, Albert (Sonny) Thompson of Clio, MI. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at French ~ Wyoming Chapel, 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
