GONZALES -- Maximiliano Victor Gonzales passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 at the age of 78. He battled Alzheimers Disease for 6 years. He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on August 1st, 1931 to Victor Gonzales and Emilia Ortiz Gonzales. There, he went to school, delivered newspapers, delivered milk, and was a Boy Scout. The Gonzales' moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in February 1950. Later that year he joined the US Navy and served through 1954. He began working for Mountain Bell in 1955 and retired in February 1990. It was there that he met his wife of 51 years, Emilie M.Garcia Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Emilia. He is survived by his wife Emilie, son Tim Gonzales, son Chris Gonzales and his wife Denise, stepgrandson Mark Ozbun and his wife Cyndi and their daughters Taylor, Skylar, and Jayden. His surviving brothers are Arthur Gonzales, Gilbert Gonzales and his wife Marlene, and Victor Gonzales and his wife Jane. He will be missed by his immediate family and all of his nephews and nieces and friends. Max loved working for Ma Bell. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family very much. He was an avid fisherman and Lobo fan. He became a favorite of many at both Sterling Memory Care Center and Desert Hills Memory Care Center. We encourage donations to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. Services are to be determined and will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
